Negative experience: Based on first impressions, we were optimistic about the experience of working with Carl. We had already worked with several other realtors and had a good understanding of what we were looking for - Carl seemed to fit the bill. He was personable, proactive, and had the data to back up his claims. Unfortunately, as soon as his big payday was under contract, communication went cold. We were no longer informed on what was going on, our questions received no response, and our phone calls and emails were left unanswered. This ultimately destroyed the most important facet of a client-realtor relationship: trust. We could not trust Carl Guild & Associates with the safety of our home, the timely and ethical execution of our transactions, or even the simplest of tasks such as scheduling appointments and properly filling out paperwork. Ultimately, while it seems my experience is in the minority, I have to recommend working with someone else if you want to sleep easy at night during the homebuying/selling process.

Our family moved back to Portland in the summer of 2024 and trying to purchase a home in that market wasn't the easiest. My son Dalton is a realtor in Florida and did a search for us. Carl Guild clearly came up as the front runner. Fantastic experience: I was referred to Jim Harrington to sell the first house I had ever purchased / raised my daughter in, a house that was super close to my heart! There is nobody I would trust more with selling my starter home than Jim and Cody. Jim was exceptionally kind, honest and thorough. Jim was also very efficient. He worked quickly, efficiently and effectively- while still being thorough and always kept me informed. He kept me in the loop, was transparent with what fixes needed to be completed in order to sell- and he even took the time to help arrange a team to complete these fixes effectively and correctly. Cody, who also works for Carl Guild Associates and worked with Jim was just as exceptional. After his work at my house it looked so good I almost didn’t want to sell!! He also communicated effectively and ALWAYS completed a task going above and beyond.He put in a lot of time to make sure things were not just good, but great.Both of these men, were amazing to work with through, and through. Fantastic experience: I was referred to Angela Aresco and I’m so happy to have found her!!! I needed to sell my child hood home that had been in my family for five generations. Emotionally it was not easy at all . Angela is fantastic. She is very patient and caring and takes her time explaining things to me . Working with her is like working with a best friend that I trust completely. She had my house sold in a couple days . Now I’m moving again and I didn’t hesitate to hire her again. One of the many benefits of working with Carl Guild and associates is they provide on reservation a 14 ft box truck that you only have to put gas in , no charge to rent , It’s fantastic and the truck is like new it only had 25000 miles on it . It’s an Automatic yeah. I wouldn’t use any other real estate agent or company. They are the best!!!!

Fantastic experience: We used Carl Guild for both the purchase of the lot we built our new house on and for the sale of the house we lived in for 30 years. Outstanding service on both the purchase and the sale transactions. Our agent, Candy Webb, was terrific as was the rest of the staff at CG. On top of that, they have moving vans available for use by their customers at no charge! Booking the vans online was a breeze. Not planning on moving again anytime soon but when we do we will definitely use Carl Guild!

Negative experience: Minimum credit score requirement was not communicated to us so unfortunately we missed out on a great apartment in Middletown via Carl. Although we had the means to ensure we could secure the apartment but we were still turned away. Kindly next time let people know what minimum credit score you require so they do not waste time and money applying only to be rejected. Thank you.

It being my first I had so many questions and concerns, but she was able to answer everything in a timely manner and make the process so easy. Fantastic experience: I grew up in CT and moved to California 11 years ago. I never thought I'd move back but the pandemic shifted our priorities. My husband and I were mentally preparing ourselves for a long and arduous journey with how insane the market is right now. This is because Michelle is professional, responsive, of the utmost integrity, and honest. We were fortunate to have Michelle by our sides during our lengthy home search in a competitive market with low inventory (for what we were seeking anyway). Michelle was truly on our side the entire time. We never felt pressured to make an offer on any home that was less than ideal for us; she was in it with us for the long haul. Michelle’s outside-the-box thinking and dedication to us ultimately found us the home of our dreams. Michelle is smart, kind, dedicated, and loyal – a true advocate for her clients. Fantastic experience: We stumbled upon Carl by accident, and could not be more thankful for the results. I am in sales myself, and therefore have a pretty high standard for quality customer service - it pains me when I see lazy salespeople take the easy route, which in my eyes doesn’t just reinforce the negative stereotype already earned by sleazy sales people over the last few decades, but also rips off the consumer, depriving them of the experience they deserve (and are paying for). Thankfully, before we could be let down by any typical subpar person or organization, we met Carl. Carl exceeded any expectation we could have had. The house we bought was unique, and sat on complicated property lines, encompassing land that to us was equally important as was the house itself. Somehow Carl had already researched the information on how to point out the important landmarks of the property, and even provided us with additional enticing bits of knowledge that further illustrated the picture of the home and its history, which all culminated in our realization that this was the only home for us. I was so pleased with my experience with Carl, I immediately wished I knew more people in CT to whom I could refer Carl’s services. Unfortunately, however, my family is all in MA, as are most of my long term friends outside of work. It is for this reason especially that I am writing this review. Carl gave us amazing service, invaluable advice, and most importantly, he gave us the peace of mind of knowing we were working with someone we could trust.
