I was looking to relocate from Illinois but buying a condo in Michigan meant I had to sell my home in Illinois first. Derick was so helpful and spent many hours showing me different condos in Michigan but I was not ready to buy since my Illinois home hadn't sold yet. When it looked like my house would sell, but my house sale fell through (twice), Susan spent many hours with me over several months showing me condos that were available in Michigan. Finally, my Illinois sale went through and Susan found me the perfect condo in Holland! I am so happy to have worked with her and her team. Fantastic experience: My wife and I had an excellent experience with Kristen who helped us find and buy our first home this summer. Her past experience with foreclosed homes translated into an excellent eye for any potential issues in places we toured. The market for our price range was really hot but she helped us put together competitive offers. Fantastic experience: In a seller’s market where everyone is getting outbid, Derick helped me secure a property in 2020 that I actually underbid on. AND it has appreciated over 30% in less than 2 years!

Negative experience: Prior to listing my home I was very up front and clear when I asked Derick if I could sell my home as it was a HUD home because I had to move because of a job loss. He said he would double check and got back to me and said yes. I then listed the home and put an offer on another home to which he never accompanied me to see. After all contingencies were removed on the purchase of another home I asked Derick if there was a form I needed to complete on the home we had listed for HUD. He then checked and called me back and removed the listing without my permission and said he could not list my home and I needed to check with HUD. After spending hours on phone I was told the information Carini Realtors gave me was incorrect. Faced with being stuck with two homes I had the choice of losing my 5000 deposit on the home I was about to purchase or buying a home that I had no money to renovate because I could not sell my current home. For a new father of a newborn child having two houses while just starting a new job was very stressful Carini realtors hung me out to dry while I took a loss of thousands of dollars. Be Careful because they do not care about you, just their paycheck. 2022 Update : Completely classless. Not only did they delete the proof our out correspondence trying to discredit me from years ago but they submitted a complaint against me as I am now a licensed realtor, when the poor experience dealing with Carini was why I became a realtor. I told the board all I wanted was an apology and acknowledgment that that made a mistake to which the first thing that was said when I called back was I am calling back about getting that review removed. Seriously even if you don’t think you are wrong why would you call someone up to still try to act like you did nothing wrong. Even after trying to bully a past client they will never learn.

Since I'm a first time home buyer it started with me just getting an idea of what the market was like and what I could afford. Derick was very helpful answering any questions I had during his process. At the time I was also unsure of what city I would be living in because I was in the process of getting my career started. Even though I ended up moving to Traverse City, Derick still helped me with questions and getting started. Fast forward to the present, I was finally able to get a job in Grand Rapids so Derick once again started the search for me. Fantastic experience: I definitely highly recommend Derick and Curt Carini for selling or buying properties. I had use Carini Realtors for buying a house twice, 2004 and recently 2016, and I am very pleased with their service. My recent Realtor, Derick, is a very patient, thorough, and detail-oriented person. He made sure we went through every procedure that met the criteria, so later on it won't cause us a trouble. He was always there for us and to guide us for every step and every little detail whenever we needed to check on the new listing(s). It took my fiance and I about over 3 months to search the house we're looking for. Prior to our new house now (that we took possession early August this year), we put an offer to another house and put down payment for $1000. He kept reminding us that after the house inspection we only had 10 days to make decision otherwise we would loose that down payment. So Derick is awesome!!! We made a decision just on time to pull back the offer due to the condition of that house after house inspection findings, and we didn't loose our down payment. As for the house we recently purchased, my fiance and I are extremely happy to be the house owner with Derick's assistance.
