Fantastic experience: Christie did a wonderful job selling my home and dealing with a stressed saler. When my appraisal came in low she went to bat for me and with much hard work was able to get a second appraisal at the cost of the bank. She explained all of the confusing paperwork to me in ways that I could understand. Through all the craziness and difficulties she was there for me and kept telling me "I've got your back." Fantastic experience: My husband and I moved to Morganton from Onslow County, NC in the summer of 2025. I came across a rental on the WNC website in my price range and had the pleasure of working with Eli Ward to get the rental. We moved into our rental through WNC properties at the end of June 2025. Fantastic experience: My husband and I can't say enough good things about our realtor, Christie Leonard. She did an outstanding job with both selling our home and finding for us the perfect home to buy. Christie went "above and beyond" during the entire process. We first started with Christie when we asked her to sell our house. We were in a time crunch to sell because we had already put in an offer on a house we wanted to buy (conditional offer based on our house being sold). Within a month Christie had our house under contract and this was during a slow house market period. The prospective buyer was "difficult" and brought up multiple issues with buying the house, after making an offer. Christie dealt with every problem immediately (often before we even knew there was a problem). She spent endless hours with the prospective buyer dealing with and solving all these issues. However, long story short, this prospective buyer, unexpectantly, did not even show up on the day of closing - so the whole sale fell through. As bad as that was Christie expertly guided us every step of the way and had our house sold (again!) within 6 wks. At this time, we started looking for another house to buy (since we lost out on the first one). Again, Christie came through and found us the perfect home within a few weeks. We couldn't be happier! Christie is simply the best realtor ever! She is great to work with, always available, and gets quick results. Fantastic experience: We worked with Christy Truitt to sell a home we inherited from a family member who had recently passed away. This home was one that I visited my entire life, so it was special and hard to let go of. Christy was amazing and just the realtor we needed. As a real estate investor with a fairly good deal of experience, I have extremely high standards when choosing a realtor in any market, because having the right (or wrong) realtor on your side can and will make a huge difference in whether you are successful in meeting your goals - especially in a competitive market. When I decided to purchase a few homes in the Morganton area to use as rental properties, I immediately started my search for the right realtor to help me accomplish this goal. Since I grew up in Morganton, I knew the area fairly well and, since I have purchased many homes for investment purposes in other parts of NC, I knew what to look for in a realtor and how important it was to get the right one. I did hours of research and interviewed many realtors in the area before making a decision, and Christy quickly rose to the top as the clear choice. I needed someone who will work as hard as I do, be incredibly communicative and quick to respond, be able to spot hidden repair needs since she would be viewing homes without me there, know the Morganton area inside and out, AND (very importantly) make sure the deal is carried through until closing and that nothing falls through the cracks. Fantastic experience: My husband and I contacted Eli Ward a mere two days prior to arriving in Morganton for a long weekend...of course he was fully booked with clients given that we waited until nearly the last minute to reach out. However, he kindly made time for us on a Sunday afternoon to go over options and recommendations for our quest to find our forever home. He then escorted us to what would eventually be our dream property- twice- just so we could watch the sunset!!! We cannot believe our good fortune to have found Eli- who else would give up the only free time in their weekend to meet and help complete strangers?? Every once in a while, the stars do align. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about our experience working with Jessica Hodge! We were terrified of the housing market, however, we found ourselves considering selling our home and buying a larger one. Jessica was patience with us, she answered all of our questions and when we were ready she held our hand through the entire process. We felt like Jessica fought for us as sellers to make sure we got the most out of our home and she offered her advice to us as buyers when we asked, which was often. Fantastic experience: Not sure as to others' experience based on a rash of recent negative reviews, but I have nothing but positive things to say with respect to my agent, Eli Ward. He helped me through the process every step of the way, took care of almost everything for me as I live out of state and was unable to travel due to COVID, and went above and beyond every step of the way. Bear in mind, I did not know Eli before this ordeal began, but through the process I gained a friend and met someone I highly respected. Most importantly, he was there after closing to help me settle issues with neighbors. Unlike the other recent negative reviews, Eli helped me research deeds and plats, and the thoroughness with which we combed through everything actually helped me avoid lawyer costs and settle issues with a neighbor to establish I had no legal obligations to provide a neighbor with a right of way through my property. Negative experience: NO STAR RATING! These people sold a house with black mold to some family members, one of whom was 8 months pregnant and was to live in that house. The black mold was discovered during bathroom renovations. Because of this, my family members had to quickly find another place to live and move all of their stuff out of the house after already moving in (fearful it was contaminated with black mold and thankfully it wasn’t). Tim and Christi Truitt denied having any knowledge of it, when confronted. After this incident, we were told that Tim had tried to hide a septic tank issue of another house he had sold to a customer and tried to conceal it. Do not take your business to these people. Go to someone who is honest.
