Fantastic experience: MARK “DOC’ WATSON From the moment we walked into the Chant office we knew we were in the right place to sell our beautiful home on the Lake. Mark happened to be in the office that day and was eager to help us. He is not only a wonderful agent, but a good person. He listened to all of our thoughts and concerns and addressed each and every one of them in a professional manor. Mark went well beyond what you would expect your agent to assist with in preparing our home to go on the market. Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and he did much of this while we were out of town. Our home was not put on a lock box. Mark made sure he personally escorted each potential buyer himself. He showed them all the wonderful assets and answered all questions. He also followed up on each of them. Simple...Jennifer finally returned my called after about a week about an apartment...first 3 questions were noting less than insulting...actually asked if I had a job! Getting past that, trying to schedule a walk through and all she kept saying was how busy she was and unavailable...bottom line...FIND ANOTHER AGENT...it's for your own peace of mind!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Kathryn was referred to us by a childhood friend of mine from Narrowsburg. When the first home we were interested in went off market, she found us another home a lake community in Hawley that is truly perfect for us. Kathryn did a stellar job in sometimes challenging circumstances. We currently live 4+ hours away from our new home and relied on Kathryn to be our on-the-ground resource. She worked beautifully with the seller's agent, found us a local attorney, and got us through a fair amount of drama with a neglected septic system! Even now that we have closed, she remains available to us as a local resource. Kathryn is knowledgeable and resourceful. As a lifelong local, she can not only help you find you the right home, she can find anything or anyone you need to get your home inspected and ready for you to start your new chapter. I'm excited to be moving back to to my home turf. I told my husband that big Chant sign on Rte 6 is a lifelong landmark for me (and I'm old!) and there's a reason Chant has been in business all these years. Hometown knowledge, service, and values.

We were walk-ins near closing time and she generously took the time to speak to us - how lucky were we! She made our experience for searching and ultimately buying a plot of land a stress-free experience, and offered advice and support even after we got our land. She had excellent recommendations for contractors, perc test engineers, etc. She is extremely responsive and has extensive knowledge. She truly cares about making her customers feel like they have someone they can trust, and she has amazing connections to people who do the best jobs. Not only is Lori professional but she is also honest and persistent in always advocating on our behalf. Negative experience: If there was a "-2 stars" that is what I'd leave.  Less than fair experience with Chant in renting a property there on Lake Wallenpaupack and that is an understatement. I was nice, now I'm angry.  There were mice(or at least a mouse) which forced us to use only 2 of the bedrooms vs the 3 we rented.  Paid almost $1300 and asked what was a fair figure of only $150 to be refunded and were declined?   They initially gave $25 to add to what the cleaner offered for the lack of cleanliness (so I received $50 prior to the active mouse discovery).  They indirectly implied we were lying about the mouse, seriously? I cleaned up mouse droppings along with hairs and other dirt!  Here are some photos.  I will not rent from them if I can avoid it, and I all should beware prior to booking any of the properties they claim to manage at Wallenpaupack.  They claimed to care, but proceeded to ignore my emails once the 14 days AirBNB requires for review was up, in which time I was patiently waiting for a response regarding a refund.  Abby did not advocate for me as a customer and actually stated their pest control service found "no active" rodent activity.  Come on, I'm a guest and when I arrived there were mouse droppings, along with seeds the mouse was stashing for the winter, along with stains on the mattress pad covers I had to clean up and wash.  The microwave had prior guest gunk in it - "Oh the cleaner can come and clean" (during my stay over Christmas? NO THANKS - I paid enough money for YOU - the property manager to take 15 minutes to do a walk through prior to my stay and then call the cleaner and have them come out AHEAD of my stay, isn't that what property management is?  This property is listed on AirBNB, VRBO and probably others, I would not rent it!  Chant, stay in realty for selling as you are not capable of managing and do not care "enough" to advocate for your "guests."  If you are up for cleaning and then listening to rodent activity at night so you cannot sleep only to be told you were imagining it, then go ahead and stay at their properties.  Otherwise, you were warned.
