Fantastic experience: Buying property anywhere when you live far away is a challenge. Buying property in Steamboat from afar has even more layers of intricacy to add to the complexity - what rental zone, if any, is the property in? What are the positives and negatives of each area (purely residential, on the mountain, in town…)? How do we handle inspections, lawyers, pre-closing checklists and the actual closing if we can’t be there? The best answer is to work with Marci and Zach Valicenti. Their insight and attention to detail was invaluable in figuring out all of the above. Working with two people who have either lived in Steamboat for decades, or were born and raised there, offered a perspective that really helped us narrow down our choices. When we initially met, we thought our timeline would be years rather than the actual months before we found a property that suited us. Negative experience: I have dealt with the Valicenti for over 12 years. Purchasing my home in Steamboat Springs. The Valicenti team was not helpful. I found the home I purchased on the internet, and gave it to them to set up an appointment. Then he complained about how many homes he had to show me. Prior to the closing , the seller removed items from the house that were in the contract to remain in the house, the Valicenti failed to address the issue .

Fantastic experience: Five stars for Zach. We live in outside of Routt County. Zach made several trips to Yampa for us on weekends or at odd times to accommodate our schedule and took time to show us several houses. When we got the one we wanted, Zach worked on the contract that night. He got the offer finished quickly and the seller took our offer versus several other offer options.
