Any time there is an issue, a disconnect, or miscommunication, Kim and her team are always willing and able to come to a swift resolution that benefits all parties. Working with her this last year has been one of my better experiences with a rental company, by far. And I’ve been through a lot of them between multiple different states. Kim herself has proven time and time again that she is willing to get the job done, no matter what needs to happen, and doesn’t stop working just because the clock stuck 5pm. She has demonstrated an incredible willingness to make sure her clients and customers are all happy, safe, and taken care of. We love Kim and the entire Pointe team!

Fantastic experience: 4 S King St, The Halifax Hotel, is a nice, cozy apartment bldg located in the town of Halifax. This apartment was a surprisingly nice find. I was the first person to live in my unit and never had any issues with the unit. There are dumpsters conveniently located behind the property and a laundry room on the first floor. The bldg is accessed via key fob so it definitely provides a feeling of safety. I'd also add that the portal for paying rent and updating your information makes everything much easier. While there aren't many stores in the area, there is a Dollar General within a 5 minute walk. There is a hair salon on the first floor, a nice restaurant, The Hen and Hog a few doors down, and chill drinking spot called The Trophy Room next door. If I had to speak to any cons it would only be that the water bills tend to run a bit high based on the shared system. Other than that, I think any one would enjoy living in the space. As for Pointe Realty, they took over from the previous management and were 10x better...lol. Everyone was very friendly and they immediately did a good job of making me feel like they cared about tenants. That said I would highly recommend working with Pointe on this property or any others.

They were willing to work with our schedule during all steps of the process, Hannah was always so responsive when we had any questions, and the apartment is beautiful. Negative experience: They bought the property in August that we were already renting from a personal owner/family friend. My husband and I did a lot of repairs/upgrades on the property for the family friend to include: new kitchen cabinets, kitchen countertops, hardware, kitchen sink, faucet, all new LED lighting throughout property, new paint throughout 90% of the house, new trim work, Sheetrock work, bathroom repairs and plumbing work. Since the property was upgraded and in better shape than the adjoining house they felt it necessary to go up on our rent for upgrades we paid for. They immediately went up on the rent of $150 a month; even though we already were in a signed lease until the end of year and were the ones with the financial investment of the upgrades in the property. They sent us, almost daily, emails and notifications through the portal to sign a new lease with them. We refused to sign any lease with them because we already had one and were advised by our attorney that by law they should have followed until the end of the lease because they purchased the property knowing tenants were residing there. We paid our rent on time every month, including the increase, but in September sent us a 30 day eviction notice with an extensive move out check list attached. Kim Smiley is very rude and hung up on me when I told her I was advised by my attorney that I did not need to sign a lease with them until the renewal. I would not recommend anyone to rent from this company.

It has its own restaurant and bar (which is top-notch) and the Pointe Realty staff are always very personable and helpful.
