Fantastic experience: We worked with Lina for a good two years during a tough market. We are very happy we stuck with it however. The result was well worth it. Keep in mind the reason we were with her for so long does mean something. She never once pressured us to buy something we weren't sure of, never felt we had to settle. She was always honest, and off the bat would tell us if a house was worth an offer or not. Most realtors would not do this. I remember countless times when we saw a home, and offers were already in place as we were walking out. This was frustrating of course. She would always remind and reassure us that when the time comes, we'll know it. She is super knowledgeable about properties, really taught us what a good quality home is, and literally changed our whole mind set on what we wanted, as we saw that quality is often more important than the age of a home. When it came time for a deal, and we knew the house was for us, she really showed her expertise. I still remember when we made our offer, the sellers counter offered a higher price, which obviously happens often I'm sure. However, most realtors would say just accept it and let's get this done. She was smart enough to really study the comps/area, and the home, and said "let's stay firm on our offer and stick with it". Within 24 hours the sellers accepted our original offer, and Lina pretty much saved us a good 30-40k right just like that by staying firm on our offer. Would recommend her to anyone who does not want to be constantly pressured to buy, as she will be patient with you. She will know when the right house appears, and will do her best to get it done if it's truly "the house". Thanks Lina for your help!

She actually was our realtor when we bought our first home and was there to sell it 6 years later. Within those 6 years, we consulted Lina on updates we did, she kept us up to date in the market, she let us know what we could do to really add value to our home (& what we could pass on!). When it comes to buying or selling, Lina is your biggest advocate- she truly is part of your "team." You will never, ever, feel like she's trying to sell you a house- there is zero pressure from her. Lina made the entire process seamless- she does SO much behind the scenes that you're not even aware of. Outside of that, she knows literally everyone- the inspectors, the brokers, the neighborhood, the community- she knows the neighbors on almost every street in Oak Brook! When we were new to Oak Brook, she really helped explained each subdivision and what to expect- and she is brutally honest- which we couldn't be more thankful for. Lina is more than an agent at this point- she is a friend and someone we trust. We have told so many that she is the real estate guru and she's the best person to be negotiating on your behalf. Negative experience: I would not recommend this realtor to anyone. She’s very unprofessional, arrogant and condescending. After overhearing the way she spoke to my realtor I was appalled. After which she refused to show 2 other homes to us. I have to wonder if she refuses other realtors and saves them for her own clients or those who are within her circle. This can cause a lower number of offers and possibly worse offers which means less money for the seller. I truly believe this woman needs to be investigated by the realtor licensing body.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this realtor at all. She’s very unprofessional, very arrogant and bossy. We get it you list a lot of homes in Hinsdale/Oak Brook etc, it doesn’t give you a right to be harsh towards my realtor and others. You stood up my realtor and I once on 2 homes and had an attitude about it. Then you declined to show us 2 other homes. Do you list homes and then the save the nice homes for your personal clients to get full commission?? You need to be investigated by a government organization that looks into real estate agents.. Humble yourself!

Negative experience: Lina is very self serving realtor. She doesn’t look for clients best interests and once she was very late to the appointment and did not even care to apologize.

Our prior agent didn't know anything about the houses we saw, didnt offer any insight, and clearly was just trying to make a sale for her own numbers. In contrast Lina helped us identify homes that specifically meet our needs/desires by doing the research based on what we were looking for. She gave her honest opinion about each home, even if that meant she may not make a sale. She made the whole process easy to navigate and negotiated expertly to make sure we really felt we were getting a good value. She evaluated each home before we went for viewings and shared important information to help us make our decision. She also referred us to a great lawyer and loan officer! Negative experience: Lina Shah is the most dishonest and unprofessional real estate agent I have ever worked with and believe me I have lived here for more than 50 years. Never have I came across such a dishonest agent trying to sell me a house based on false information. She gave me the wrong information on multiple homes including number of rooms and square foot area. She overprices homes and will list assets in a home which do not even exist. Be careful before working with her because she really tried to cheat me.
