Fantastic experience: Maxine Lane helped us buy our new home and sell our old home. If you’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely committed to getting you the best outcome, we cannot recommend Maxine highly enough. Both of our homes were very unusual and each encountered patient trying circumstances . The house we wanted to buy had liens that had to be cleared and the people wanting to buy our home needed extensions to sell their house. We ended up working with Maxine for 6 months. We had an absolutely outstanding experience working with her. From start to finish, she made us feel that she was there for us. On the buying side, she listened and took the time to really understand what we wanted and needed. Again she was there for us, she drove long distances to show us properties and quickly and confidently guided us through the buying process. Even after six months of the seller getting leans cleared she was there every step of the way knowledgeably dealing with attorneys, estate executors and meeting inspectors. When it came to selling our house and shop- she did a spectacular job of getting amazing photos, pricing, marketing and writing the perfect description of our Victorian house. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Ultimately our very unusual home was under contract faster and for a better price than we expected. What really set Maxine Lane apart from any other realtor that I have ever worked with was her communication and dedication. We always felt informed, supported, and as if we were her top priority. If we had questions she was always quick to respond with thoughtful, honest advice. She truly went above and beyond. Fantastic experience: Maxine Lane with Allen Tate | Ashe High Country Realty, Inc. is the best! She went way beyond our expectations to assist us in selling our mountain home in Grayson County, Virginia. At the worst time for western North Carolina, Tenneessee, and southwest Virginia, due to hurricane Helene, she proved she would do anything to assist us. During this time my husband was going through health issues, and Maxine would personally drive to the property to assure our mile long drive was clear of downed trees and debris. This sweet lady can work wonders with her chainsaw!!! My husband and I were made to feel like part of her family, and we learned to love Maxine for her work ethics, outstanding personality, and her kindness. If you need to buy or sell a property, you should definitely contact Maxine.

Fantastic experience: Our family had an incredible experience selling our home with Monica Young. We were selling our first home and were total novices; Monica walked and coached us through the process like the pro she is. My husband especially had a lot of nerves along the way and Monica was always quick to say “take that stress off your shoulders and put that burden on me.” Monica was in consistent contact with us throughout the entire sellers process and truly was a big part of our lives for a few weeks. We are very grateful for Monica and the hard work that she poured into our home sale, and highly recommend her!

Negative experience: I was connected to this reality company due to Zillow. The realtor was very friendly. We met her at the house and loved it. Told her this was our first time buying a home so when we put in an offer we didn’t negotiate anything like closing. After the offer was made we asked about closing costs and was told that was something we were supposed to put in the offer. Yet that’s not my job. That’s the realtors job. To work on my behalf. So we got stuck paying all of closing Secondly. I asked to go out to the out before the final walk through because I wasn’t able to attend with my wife. I got so many back and forth messages about how they were so busy that they couldn’t make it out to show me. I have them an entire 6 days to work me in and nothing. Basically their pay was in the bank so no need to go out of the way to help us anymore. And when I called the office to talk to the broker in charge I got an office manager who basically did nothing. I think whoever runs this place needs to do some coaching on what customer services means. Being friendly isn’t all there is to it.

Negative experience: Queried this agency several times about their listings. I was given the cold shoulder both times. "Too busy to show the property." was one response, and another was 'That listing is contigent.' Nothing more. Not 'Thank you for your inquiry. That listing is contigent, but I have other listings that are similar; let's chat to see how I can help you.' We told one agent we would drive several hours and walk one propperty, and we did. Zero follow-up. Sellers, these agents are doing you a great disservice if your property is listed with them.

Fantastic experience: Although this is a somewhat belated post, I want to highly recommend Lori Eastridge as a realtor. Not only is she a professional in every sense, she goes above and beyond to assist you in finding and/or selling your property. Finding my special home in Ashe County was quite a challenge, however, patience and persistence paid off! Even though Lori was on vacation (which I didn't know) at the time I decided to make an offer on my home, she was very cordial when I called and went to work to assist me in the process! Now, I'm happily living in my log cabin and have listed my former cabin for sale with who else but Lori! Give her a try! You won't have any regrets!

Negative experience: It takes only one person to give a company a bad name. Mark Bower was negligent in the handling of the sale of our families property. My mother's husband was in the hospital for a month and passed away there. In a matter of days my mother's sister passed away as well. The property was under contract and Mark knew the circumstances in which there was a lack of communication to let the buyer know that her husband and sister had died. There was still personal property at the location in which Mr. Bower waited until the day before closing to contact the buyer resulting in our mother losing the belongings of her husband that just passed away. Why was the closing date not moved?? Documents were signed that she never received a copy of. Poor communication that cost her many treasured items. The new owner refused to give her the personal property that belonged to her. Lining the pockets with cash for an expensive sale was more important than helping his client. Money is the root of all evil. One star is more than he deserves.
