And although far from the ideal situation, Arnie came to our rescue and provided five-star service, coupled with acute business sense and stellar integrity. Fantastic experience: The Thompson group contributed greatly to us selling our home in less than 24 hours after listing was posted just before Christmas 2019. In particular Kelly Gray exceeded our expectations by a long shot. The realtor for the buyer was falling short in keeping things going for the closing and the closing attorney chosen by the buyer needed help getting things pulled together so Kelly stepped up several times to save the day. We were already out of town by the time everything closed and the electronic signature process used by the Thompson Group facilitated our success.

Negative experience: We have had the worst expierence using this group. We contracted a house with Christina Lutz last month and the house we contracted on was a dual agency deal. The other realtor Meredith MacDonald was the sellers agent. From the moment we started talking contract all Christina could see was dollar signs. She didn’t advise us on anything and our best interest were never her concern. She didn’t advise to ask for anything from a home warranty to a basic cleaning. Now, sure we could have thought of those things ourselves, but she said we were going up against another bid and needed to make the best offer possible. When the septic failed inspection on 151 Cabin Hill Way that is when our problems began. The sellers had put in a DIY porch and cemented the posts into the septic line. Christina and Meredith called on a conference call where Meredith, the senior agent, dominated the conversation and tried to bully me into going on with the sell saying that “the county could take a very long time” and our agent said “yes, and your lease is about to be up.” They wanted us to purchase the house and then allow the sellers to fix the septic after. They said the sellers would not fix the grass. We in turn said no, that we didn’t feel comfortable with that. We ended the call and I called our realtor back on a personal call. I was very upset that she didn’t back us up or fight for our interests. Instead, she just agreed with the other realtor and followed her lead. I told her that the yard would have to be fixed along with the septic and we wouldn’t be bullied into this deal with threats of the county. We expect things to be done in a timely manner. She told me to remember that there were other buyers interested. At this point we were supposed to extend due diligence but our realtor and the sellers just talked and never did paperwork. Angela later put this off on us as our fault that due diligence wasn’t extended when in fact it was her sorry agent’s fault. We made the request and was told it had been extended. This resulted in legal fees later on. Next, we wanted to have someone come out and look at the porch since it was put into the septic line. This ended up being Angela Thompson’s husband, who out of all the people involved we actually trust and valued his opinion. He advised that the porch was not built to code and must be a DIY project. He also said it has major structural problems and that we should see if there is a permit. He said he wouldn’t even attempt to fix it, that it should be removed from the house as it was pulling away from the structure since it’s not built right. We went to the county and discovered that the permit for the porch was never requested and furthermore that the pool never passed a safety and final inspection and the HVAC system never passed an inspection. Christina said we had the upper hand to getting things fixed properly...until she spoke with Meredith, who again pushed her way around and convinced Christina that a permit wasn’t needed. Our agent didn’t stand up for us or what she heard with her own ears and instead believed Meredith’s lies. We negotiated for the repairs but the sellers were unwilling and we terminated. Suddenly we got a lot of charges and we couldn’t get anyone to call us back. There was an error in regards to the septic pumping, which per the contract the sellers were to pay for. Our realtor requested the work and thus we got all the charges. We spoke with Marlins and were told they often have problems with clients from Angela Thompson Group because of how they manage the paperwork. When we did finally get responses Meredith said she would just pay for the pumping because she felt the sellers had been through enough. And Angela contacted us and said we were being angry and that we just didn’t understand the contract and that that was our fault. That we messed up. That if we wanted to negoatate the termination that was our fault. Absolutely no accountability for her agent who didn’t represent us properly. We will likely consult an attorney Monday.

Negative experience: Would not recommend them for property management or any type real estate transaction. Horrible experience in both areas.
