The day after listing with Kurt Jacobs (owner and realtor) and his associate realtor Cathy Callahan, they had scheduled an open house on Memorial Day weekend. We were shocked bc we had literally, just signed to go with Alpine Realty. They knew the holiday weekend brought in many prospective buyers looking at real estate. That day we got an offer. Fantastic experience: I have used Kurt Jacobs for all of my real estate for nearly 15 years. Kurt has an exceptional level of professionalism and skill, owing to many years in the northern Michigan real estate market. Fantastic experience: This Review is For Kurt Jacobs at Alpine Reality. Kurt is a Consummate Professional and his negotiation skills are the best i have ever seen. My Father and Mother were divorced after 48 years of marriage, and my father is bent on making everything difficult for my mother. Kurt was able to do the impossible, and got them to agree on a deal. Fantastic experience: When it came time to sell my Otsego Lake cottage, I wanted to make sure that I had the best agent. I looked at all of the agents who had listed or sold properties on the lake in the last year. I then interviewed the six agents who seemed most qualified. Kurt was superior to all of the other agents in his professionalism, knowledge of the market and marketing plan to sell the cottage. Kurt did everything he promised and more. The cottage was sold quickly and at a good price. He was extremely responsive and on top of every detail. I strongly recommend Kurt. He will be my only call if I have another real estate matter in the area.

Positive experience: Kurt was our realtor for buying a home in the Gaylord area. We gave him a budget and criteria and he did not pressure us into anything we didn't ask for which was extremely nice. Kurt was very helpful in suggesting certain areas that would meet our requirements to proximity to work, schools and amenities. We are a retiring military family and were purchasing a home from across the country which is stressful, but Kurt and Collette were able to help us purchase our new home on first try and we are very happy with our new home. My only complaint which is not so much of a bad thing, because it shows that many people trust Alpine, is that getting Kurt on the phone was not something that was an easy task. Kurt prefers email's and was very responsive of them, but sometimes it would've have been easier to get an instant answer to a question rather than waiting for an email. When we were successful in our purchase, a phone call would have been nice rather than an email. I know it's because so many people trust him and his team, and they are working hard at servicing all of their clients. Alpine Realty had a great rating and it's why we decided to go with them and it was a true reflection to their diligence and professionalism.

Negative experience: After looking at the reviews for Alpine Realty Group, we decided to message the "featured realtor" on their website for a listing we were interested in. That realtor was Todd Chamberlain. After multiple back and forth emails with him where he would clearly not be fully reading my emails or comprehending what we were asking, and then respond with something that was completely unhelpful or not what we were asking about, we felt that we weren't going to be successful in our house-hunt with him as our agent. We won't be back to Alpine. Maybe someone else at Alpine is capable of reading and comprehending emails and responding appropriately, but Todd isn't. He clearly didn't care about our business enough to even read our emails. He obviously doesn't need that 3% of the purchase price then either. For context on one of the failed email responses: We had found a house for sale on 10 acres, where the property lines in the area appeared the neighboring property was selling off 10 acres at a time from their large tract of land. We were hoping for 40+ acres, so we were wondering if Todd could contact the owners of the large, neighboring property (an elderly couple) to see if they would be willing to sell off 30 acres that we could purchase along with the 10 acres that was for sale to create a total of 40 acres. I gave the address of the neighboring property with the large tract of land, and asked Todd if we could contact the owners (OF THE NEIGHBORING PROPERTY) to see if they would be willing to sell some of their land. Instead, Todd contacted the owner of the 10 acres and asked them if they would be willing to sell 30 more acres.......NOT AT ALL what we were asking. Obviously the owners of the 10 acre parcel only have 10 acres, and wouldn't be able to sell an extra 30 acres if they ONLY HAVE 10 ACRES. Overall, a super frustrating experience (repeatedly) with every email Todd sent. We've since found an agent that is capable of reading, comprehending, and responding to emails.

Fantastic experience: After meeting with several local realtors in the Gaylord area, I knew within five minutes that I was going to hire Kurt Jacobs with Alpine Realty to list and sell our home in the Lakes of the North. Kurt sent me an extensive marketing plan almost immediately after our first phone conversation even before meeting us. That proves dedication and is above and beyond. Fantastic experience: My boyfriend Logan and I were looking to buy our first home and Mike Tober was our realtor. He made the whole process a lot easier than I anticipated! Logan and I had a lot of questions and concerns throughout our search and Mike made sure to always have the answer. Even if he was unsure he would look into it and get right back to us! Also, it was pretty important to me that I not feel pushed in any direction I didn't want to go in, and Mike was really great with showing he had our best interest in mind. He was patient as we turned down the houses we didn't want and also empowered us to keep our hopes up as the right home would come along! And so it did. Now we are getting into our home and he's gone as far as to offer to help get the dingy old furniture out of the house that the previous owners left! Bottom line- start to finish he was great!

Fantastic experience: Mike Tober was very honest, prompt, and informative throughout the entire home buying process. Mike was able to arrange for a next day showing and helped us place a competitive offer at that time. He gave valuable knowledge about the area he serves, the process of buying a home, and was able to walk us through a tense bidding situation which ultimately ended in an accepted offer only 1-2 days later on a home that had been on the market the day we called on it! Mike never made us feel pressured and was very flexible, he'd answer any time of day if needed and has continued to work with our schedules (2 mid-nightshift workers and a 3 hour drive!).
