Fantastic experience: We lived in our apartment for almost 4 years and Debizel was nothing but 100% professional!! Maintenance was always taken care of immediately and communication was perfect. We got our deposit back after they had fixed the wear and tear in our apartment fairly. We would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLAR ($8000.00) cleaning bill after move out. 30 day deadline. For my family with young children! Wonderful company! And Our original review appears to have been removed! Would it be a shameful practice to not actually fix your rental houses, just slap new paint and carpet down, make it rentable , then charge the next tenant in sky high cleaning fees upon move out? I pray if this kind of situation ever happens to a tenant out there, they can find help. They rented us a house after (reportedly) ruining the previous tenant with bogus cleaning fees. (Our community told us this after we moved in). Then hit us for 8 grand in cleaning fees after we moved out. Their maintenance wouldn't actually fix our problems, like a broken door. They told us that management said it would be ok. They wouldn't do that on purpose, to charge us later, right? Debizel would not work with us at all on the cleaning fee. They threatened it would go on our credit. We used our life savings, paid those wonderful people, and moved on with our lives. We should have looked into court but we were young and already out of state. Debizel Gave us a cleaning bill with charges that only added up to 3 or 4 grand. No details what the unaccounted remaining 4-5 grand was for. Like they didn't even try to make it look good, just slapped a 30 day deadline on it. They would not attempt to explain the mystery charges over the phone either. We very politely called and pleaded to work with us on the price, even agreeing to pay. No budge. No discount. We paid in full and they said "aww, thank you very much." Like laughing about it on the phone. We expected a cleaning charge, that's typical with rental companies. plus we had kids. Maybe 2k tops? New carpet, new paint, stove drip pans, wear and tear? We even spent days cleaning up the best we could. Debizel, do you think you could work with us now? maybe pay back some of that fee we paid in full? Would look good on you, instead of arguing with all these reviewers.

Negative experience: SLUM LORDS. They will not help with ANYTHING, but trust if you are 30 minutes late on your rent, or they switch the utilities into someone else's name without saying anything THEY WILL CHARGE YOU. I'll be adding a LOT more once I'm out of this place. Whatever you do, do NOT rent from these people and do NOT have them manage your property. Asked for an itemized bill and all of a sudden it's an option on my web portal? The whole time being extremely rude and annoyed with me. Aren't you paid to answer questions and help with property issues? The washer was "fixed" and nothing happened, the drum is still broken. They've been notified at least twice by me much less the family that shares. My lease has stickers added to the COPY of my lease before it was sent to me. Very sad as a family friend is here and I thought they were trustworthy. There are so many other options around town, do that.

Negative experience: They are ripoff artists. They take a $40 fee for application and then deny you for eligibility to rent just to make another $40 My advice is to never even contact this company.

Fantastic experience: We had great luck with Debizel. They were thorough through the application process and we rented a house very reasonably priced. They were quick with the one maintenance request we had and quick with communication all around. They were also very fair with returning the security deposit. I would definitely recommend this property management.

Fantastic experience: Debizel has been absolutely amazing to work with. I'm now in my 2nd home with them. I was in my last home for over 5 years, and they were always quick to respond to any maintenance issues that arose. For inspections, etc., they give you at least a week's notice before they come into the property, which is nice. And for other situations, they have always given me a 24 hour heads up. The staff there are all very nice and respectful, and the maintenance guys are great! P.S. they work with bad credit, something most rental companies don't do!

Fantastic experience: Debizel Property Management has been a fantastic service provider during my rental journey. The person who helped me over the phone was super helpful, and they always answered my questions quickly. Nick, the property maintenance guy, was friendly and always there to help when I needed it. Even though I’ve had great experiences, I’ve decided to buy a house and won’t be renting from them anymore but if I was still renting I’d rent from them again.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. The lady i talked to has no clue what she is doing. Always saying, I gotta check with my manager and I'll call you back. She never calls back and when I call her she say I don't remember our conversation. Complete waste of $40 application fee and time and effort. Save your money and find a better place to deal with.

Fantastic experience: I have rented homes across the US and many in Billings due to my work schedule. Debizel staff has always been responsive with my questions and concerns, and they were great when minor maintenance issues arose and addressed them immediately. They returned my security deposit quickly and without any deductions, as I left the property even cleaner than when I took possession and without any damage, etc.

Negative experience: I would sooner live out of my truck before renting from them again! INSANE prices and insane deposits that they make sure to get 75% of. Go with happy homes they have been extremely easy to work with. I asked if I could watch my dads two mini aussie shepherds for a couple weeks but not keep them and then I was quoted 2 different prices for deposits but paying 2,395 dollars as a deposit for animals considering the place had water damaged floors, holes in the carpet, scratches all over the floor, I think they were just trying to get the biggest deposit so they could blame everything on my animals and then renovate the house. Horrible company, horrible people, horrible service, debizel!

Negative experience: Let me help some people save there hard earned 40$ the lady I spoke with was rude even after putting me on hold, to tell me they want you to make 3× the rent listed... I've been at my place now going on 5 yrs ,what's 45 more dollar's for an extra bathroom thought ? But I could move into one of there shady looking 1bdroom !!!! Thanks but No thanks ... I'll spend my 40hrs a wk money with a company that respects hardwork

Negative experience: This place is literally insane. I was applying for a rental that's 1095 and they wanna add an additional 1095 to the deposit so a total of 2190 for a deposit because I have an old indoor cat. They ask for 3 times the rent and ask for a tenant ledger form from a place I stayed in 3 years ago which I'd have to receive. That's a ton of extra steps for a person. I'd never recommend renting with these guys. Not to mention the lady Taylor I talked to was extremely rude when I told her to disregard my application, she hung up on me, well at least they got their money from the application. How unprofessional to hang up on someone.

Negative experience: Unprofessional, uneducated, & possesses unrealistic expectations of lower quality properties. Have rented several homes across the US in multiple states as a fully disabled veteran, first time I've felt like that wasn't good enough. Will seek a more veteran friendly property management company.

Negative experience: If you want to get a surprise "cleaning" bill for nearly ten grand, come to Debizel! They'll probably open your mail to charge you exactly your life savings! They won't even work with you on the amount! You'll have a ridiculously small amount of time to pay, or it's going on your credit! I paid them off with my life savings for my child's college. So unless you wanna pay me back about 3-4 grand, this review is going to stay. You only accounted for about 4 grand worth of bogus charges on your paperwork. What was the remaining amount for? Forget how to math?

Negative experience: I had put an application in 2 weeks ago. I looked at the property and loved it. I had all my refrences, background check and credit check done. They called me when they couldn't get a hold of a couple of my refrences which were my emergency contact and my friend. They took time out of their day to call the property management to make sure they got what they needed. I called almost everyday to check on the status of my application and then last minute they call and tell me sorry, We had someone put a deposit on the house its no longer available. Waisted my time for 2 weeks trying to get everything that was required and then to tell me sorry it's taken. I will absolutely never do business with them. Especially when I've asked over and over if there was anyone else looking at the property. They could've said something days ago and I could have moved along and looked somewhere else. I feel it was so unprofessional.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional company. As somebody who used to work for property management companies. As stated below they asked very unprofessional questions that shouldn't even be asked to my references. I jumped through hoops to make any corrections on applications only to be told no. I looked past some of the things that were asked to friends and coworkers. Because I really wanted the house. But in the future if you go with them they're only to ask yes or no questions with no details and for your rental ledger. The worst part is one of the people that they called was somebody who used to work property Management and they were appalled by the things they asked. I feel like I wasted 80 bucks on application Fees and my time .

Fantastic experience: I rented with Debizel for about 6 months (the property was sold shortly after I moved.) I had no rental history, they worked with me to get into a unit. In the time that I was a tenant with the company it was phenomenal. They have very dedicated staff that are willing to help any way they can. Thank you again for your help Debizel!

Fantastic experience: I recently rented from Debizel Property Managers. The employees there have always been kind, courteous, and friendly. Maintenance was always very efficient and I never had any issues. Everyone who works there was always honest. My wife and I had zero issues moving out as the entire process was transparent.

Negative experience: Dishonest to start with and keep in mind that if you have a service or Esa animal they have no regard for the laws protecting your rights to have the animal in the home with you they will try to turn it away eventually someone will sue and they're policies will change in the meanwhile don't waste your time with these people

Negative experience: Allow you to pay application fees and than tell you that they can't rent to you or that they have a double deposit for pets with out disclosing that before you pay them. Just out to take ad much money from people when they know that they can not pay 7000 dollars to move into a home!!

Negative experience: FALSE ADVERTISEMENT RENTAL COMPANY / SHADY We had a very bad experience with this company and are so embarrassed for them! We had done a FaceTime walkthrough of the rental as we lived in another state and couldn’t do a physical walk through and were told that the one car garage would work and would be getting fixed if we chose to move in (which having a one car garage was absolutely necessary for us). So we decided to go with the place and gave them a $2,000 deposit (they doubled the deposit because of our car) for a $1000 rental. They called all of our references and asked very inappropriate questions as stated in another review as well too. We drove 15 hours to completely relocate up here and when we got to the rental it was a dump. The garage didn’t work at all and it seems like we were dealing with multiple people so each one had a different story, so the manager kept saying she didn’t know who told us about the garage working. The place had a bug infestation and the inside looked as if it wasn’t even cleaned. For the price of $1000 a month of rent; the floors were concrete in the kitchen, the two doors connecting to the garage didn’t work, screens were missing, doorknobs on the bedrooms didn’t work, and the water spigot outside didn’t work. We had just bought a brand new swamp cooler to get set up that same day of moving things in and doing the walk through and the water spigot directly below the window didn’t work. So I called Debziel Property Management and once again talked to someone differently to get it set up and they said they would do a work order and I asked when it would be done and she didn’t know. They called me back again and said they didn’t know who told me it worked and it didn’t. That was the cherry on top and we were pretty upset as we were not quite about it and they refunded us the full deposit and told us they were not renting to us all in the same day starting to move in. Very unprofessional and shady company!! I would not rent from this company.

Negative experience: If I could, I would give them a (-5 Stars)! As this is a Very Shady and Dishonest Company! They wanted a lot of reference s to check with and then they proceeded to interrogate each and everyone! They called all our, Personal References, Employers, and our last 4 Rental Property asking a bunch of Very Illegal and highly Unprofessional questions like; do they pay their bills, do they always have a job, how clean is there house, etc... Now remember these are our personal references and employers, not just the last realtor we used! I have a very stable and high paying career and make more then their monthly property rental every week! My wife has a great job with the state! We have perfect rental history and a good credit score with great payment history! Friday, they called and told us, we had gotten their (extremely overpriced duplex- $2295 a month) and we could meet Monday to do the walk-through and give them the (2) required cashier checks for the deposits. One full month for deposit and one full month for pet deposit! Monday afternoon they called my wife and told her that they will not be able to move forward with us! They canceled 3 hours before we wore to met without any reason! This is the kind of company that needs to be closed! We are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the State Housing Commission!

Fantastic experience: As a property owner who has worked with dpms I can't say enough good about these folks. They have been competent, professional, and a joy to work with. They have made this process a pleasure for me. I self managed one rental for 15 years, and was ready to quit. We acquired another rental which we placed with them. I can only say I wish we had done it from the begining. They have made the whole process ok.

Negative experience: Girl on phone had no idea how many people had already applied for place I was interested in, had no idea how competitive application process is, didn't have an estimate for how long process took, and couldn't be bothered to get any answers for me. I don't want to spend $35 and have no idea where the money is going, or how good my odds are. I could go and play lotto if I wanted to throw money away gambling. Regardless, without applying I made an appointment to see a unit I was interested in. Made appointment on Friday, for Tuesday. Was told to wear a mask and call in to see if agent was running late an hour before meeting time. Didn't call in because I was super busy. I said I was gonna be there on Tuesday at 4pm, which means I'm going to be there on Tuesday, at 4pm. Get there on time, no one around. Call after 5 minutes to see why no one is there. Get told I had to call an hour before so agent would know I'm still coming. Um, no. I know people flake but you're running a business and I won't be expected to call you again, when I've already scheduled an appointment with you. It's a little insulting to be honest. I said I'm gonna be there. That means I'm going to be there. If you want to make sure I'm still coming an hour beforehand, then you can be proactive and call me. Lady on phone says she'll see if agent can come out last minute. Guy shows up 15 minutes later and shows me the place. Remember, I've been asked to wear a mask. Guy doesn't wear one. Apparently they want me to have a mask on so I can't cough on them, but don't care if their guy gets me sick. Great. Place looked okay. Two stars (instead of one) since place was real, they answered their phone, and the apartment looked like the pictures. Huge puddle in unmaintained parking area gave it a nice run-down vibe. TLDR; no one could give me straight answers to questions, got stood up, was told to wear a mask but agent didn't bother. Definitely not interested.

Fantastic experience: We rented a property from Debizel for 4 years. Other than a couple of minor miscommunications on ours and their part during that time frame we resided at that property, we still found them to be very professional and responsive whenever we needed them. They communicated clearly on any additional charges and what the expectations were when we moved in, while we were there, and when we moved out to avoid any of those additional charges. They were very fair while residing at the property and we received our full deposit when we left, along with a professional letter of reference as a tenant. We were super skeptical about having to deal with any property management company when we moved in. They eased those concerns and represented themselves and the property owners well.

Negative experience: Worst property management company in Billings . They will rob you if you move out. Our lawyer is having to dispute all of their fake move out charges . would not recommend. All of the employees are very rude when asking for repairs or anything of that matter. The property they rented us had a basement that was considered unlivable. It had mold and a rotten foundation and stunk really bad . i dont own any pets but they charged me for pet i dont own lol ridiculous company.

Fantastic experience: I've been with debizel about a year now and they have been great! While moving in, they communicated and kept me updated with everything that was happening, made sure to help me find a property that would work for me. I had a service animal, and they were absolutely great about the paperwork process with the animals, with no questions asked. Any issue I've had has been fixed immediately. Very professional, and great on communication any time you need to get ahold of them.

Negative experience: Horrible. Wish I could give 0 stars. They don’t care about maintaining their properties whatsoever. Don’t respond to tenant concerns or needs, and say it is “not their responsibility” to deal with broken fixtures, appliances, leaking roofs or cracks in foundation that cause basement flooding. COMPLETE SLUMLORDS whose only concern is getting their check and screwing their tenants out of as much of their security deposits as possible. While I prefer to rent from a property manager who actually manages, I will say, the one positive aspect of Debizel Property Slumlords is that they are so utterly uninvolved with their units that they don’t even notice when you bring in pets and other people that are not on the lease. Their pet deposit is $1200 + $40 monthly, but I saved thousands of dollars over the course of 2 years by simply not telling them that we had brought in multiple animals, and even during their “yearly inspection” they never noticed! Clear evidence of how *unmanaged their properties are!

Negative experience: Rude. And break the law with required deposits for service animals. Said a double deposit was required... Illegal. But they get away with it. Vets, LE, etc. Stear clear they don't want you. Now your response is false. We provided documents (government issued mind you), insurance to cover the following,and local recorded. You are even dishonest in your on line response. We'd gladly show the packet presented to your office. The one used to acquire a residence from our present and former management companies.

Fantastic experience: I have been living in a property managed by Debizel for over a year now, the issues I have had with the property gave been fixed promptly. The people in the office are great to work with. By far the Best experience I have had with a rental. Keep up the good work. .

Negative experience: I WAS a homeowner using their management company since I moved out of state. Hands down the worst!! my renters picked up and left and they didn't even tell us until almost a month later when we were supposed to get our rent check, they then lied about advertising my property, always charged large amounts to fix things even though my property was inspected 7 months prior

Fantastic experience: As a renter, I found Debizel to be extremely responsive, friendly and professional. The property was very well maintained the year that I was there. As a homeowner, I wouldn't hesitate to have Debizel manage my property. They have got to be one of the TOP property management companies in Billings and I recommend them all the time.

Negative experience: Worst property managers in the state of Montana. Absolutely unprofessional. It was a nightmare housing situation from start to finish. Beware!

Fantastic experience: Outstanding professionalism and outstanding service! I have had the pleasure of working with Debizel from the standpoint of both a tenant and landlord. It was the positive experience that I had as a renter that convinced me to use Debizel as my property manager when I moved away from Billings.

Fantastic experience: If only every other property management company were half as good as Debizel, renters, owners and landlords would be much happier! Debizel's staff are truly outstanding property managers and I would recommend them to anyone seeking such services. I am a landlord and they handle my properties for me.
