Fantastic experience: I can't speak to working with PMI as a property owner, but as a tenant of one of their properties I've been very pleased in my dealings with them. The application, move-in, and inspection processes were a breeze. We did run into a couple issues after moving in; however, they were handled in a timely and efficient manner. The operations and maintenance teams have been quick to respond to and resolve concerns. I'm never waiting on communications with certain team members. The whole team monitors correspondence channels and are well-versed in getting you to the right person(s) to help. If you are in the market as a renter and see the PMI brand on a listing, rest assured they will take care of you.

Fantastic experience: Great experience so far, and super fast service response times. They are incredibly communicative and efficient. I requested an EV plug to be installed, and they literally had an electrician out the following morning. So far it's been great working with PMI Mountain West.

Fantastic experience: PMI mountain west manages my residential property. Their follow through is second to none. They take care of problems immediately with quality work at reasonable prices. They keep the space rented with well screened tenants that pay on time every month. Steven Anderson the franchise owner is hands on to make sure I am communicated with and always know what is going on with my property. He makes sure that tenants are taking care of the property, furnace filters are changed and maintenance is done. I highly recommend PMI Mountain West. It’s great to see money come into my account each month and not worry about the property anymore.

Even better, they don’t just default to the owner’s side—they take the time to understand what’s fair and look out for tenants’ interests, too. Communication is clear, updates are timely, and expectations are set up front (no surprises). Shout-out to Steve Anderson: he went to bat with the City when an outrageous water bill hit due to a line failure that wasn’t on us. He gathered the facts, worked directly with City staff, and pushed for a fair outcome—securing a credit and a reasonable payment plan so we weren’t stuck with something beyond our control. Professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful—exactly what you want in a management company. Highly recommend PMI Mountain West.

Fantastic experience: PMI has been phenomenal to work with. Especially Cameron! He has been very responsive and on top of things from the second we reached out about the property we moved into. We had a few changes to our plans before we moved in and they were happy to accommodate and make things work. I’ve dealt with other property management companies in the past and they rarely answer their phones and when they do they seem bothered and unwilling to help. Not Cameron though. I can tell he loves what he does and loves helping people find their new homes. Every time I called or text he was right on it and never seemed bothered. Even when he probably had every right to be. I’d recommend PMI Mountain West to anyone.

Negative experience: Do not rent from nor have PMI Mountain West manage your property. PMI Mountain West has gone into rent abatement TWICE in the short four months of 2025 because of unaddressed health and safety hazard repairs. Since PMI Mountain West took over ownership of our apartments the condition of our property has been completely neglected. I have extensive documentation of their neglect of landlord responsibilities and utter incompetence when it comes to property management. Here are a few highlights from Ivy Anne that PMI Mountain West manages: *Laundry room is never cleaned, it's filthy and the trash is never emptied. *Recycling cans are overflowing and never emptied. *Broken rain gutters that create a hazard when the temp is below freezing, the entire sidewalk is covered with ice. *Multiple security lights out of order. *1 1/2 in. black mold in my child's bedroom window that has never been remediated. This black mold made me and my child sick for 3 months straight. I highly recommend you avoid PMI Mountain West at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Steve has been easy to work with and helped us rent our home quickly and as painlessly as possible. He made suggestions on what repairs or improvements could help increase our rentability and had a team on hand to make those repairs and improvements for less than we expected.

Fantastic experience: I just move in and there are issues I reported which was promptly fixed, this includes freezing fridge and accidental lock out from master bedroom. The immediate response by PMI management and its maintenance personnel is highly commendable.

As it always is with moving into a new place there are always a few quirks and adjustments that need to be made and right away they either sent a maintenance man or took care of it personally. Fantastic experience: I recently found out I had to replace the roof on a rental home that I own. We also had to repair the deck, a sliding door and sprinkler system before we could rent it again. It was pretty over whelming! Well Steve Anderson and his staff, especially Heidi Shafer helped me through a myriad of questions and options to get everything resolved! It's taken two months to finally see the end of the tunnel. I appreciate their patients with all my concerns and would recommend PMI Mountain West to any rental owner or tenant.

Fantastic experience: Steve at PMI mountain west was a lifesaver for my family. After moving to town from across the country, we arrived to SLC to realize that the property we were supposed to move into (from a different company) wouldn't work for our family. I found another property online and gave PMI mountain west a call at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon on a whim. After I explained my situation, Steve and his team worked through the weekend and were able to get my family keys to a new home on Monday afternoon. This property management group is attentive, compassionate, and was willing to go the extra mile to help my family out of a bad situation. Since moving in, they have addressed all of my concerns promptly and have been a pleasure to communicate with. I have nothing but excellent things to say about my experience with this group. Fantastic experience: I have had the unfortunate experience for buying a very problematic property, which costed me quite a bit to fix it. The only reason that I can survive this huge money loss and keep the property is Steve and Heidi were extremely helpful throughout the process finding the best contractors for the jobs. They worked diligently to solve the problems and I have been impressed with their work ethic and responsiveness.

Negative experience: So usually when people have poor credit they go for the co-sign/guarantor option. But according to Heidi Shafer, even when your applying with a guarantor (because your using THEIR credit to qualify) you cannot have the option of having a guarantor if your personal credit is too low. When you use a guarantor you are supposed to go off the guarantors credit, not the individuals credit. That’s the reason why people have a guarantor/co-signer option right? Waste of time, waste of $150 in application fees. Heidi Shafer I think you guys should take off the Guarantor option on your guys application. It’s a misleading offer. DO NOT BOTHER APPLYING FOR A GUARANTOR/CO-SIGNER OPTION IF YOUR APPLYING WITH THIS COMPANY. ITS A WASTE OF TIME.

Negative experience: Please do not sign up to use this company. I spent over a year renting through this company and in the end was screwed over by them. They did not follow contractual protocol regarding move out. They make you pay out-of-pocket for carpet cleaning, and a cleaning service after I cleaned the entire home. They also made me pay a very substantial amount of money for damage to an appliance. Then provided me random pictures with no dates attached. If renting go directly through the owners.
