Fantastic experience: I have lived in Cumberland County pa for several years. The area has heavily pivoted to property management over private landlords. Ive dealt with a couple property management agencies and consistently found they just want your money and dont ACTUALLY care about the property. JALEX has been abundantly professional and engage like real people. Everyone has been so kind. When we moved into our home, we had a serious issue that involved law enforcement (situation, nothing to do with jalex). The owner called me personally to make sure my family was okay and talked to me for probably half an hour. Their team shows care and compassion. They clearly state their expectations and as long as you communicate and use common sense, they give privacy and have never once felt invasive. Their properties are very well maintained and they fix any minor issues very quickly. They are the ONLY agency in this area NOT taking advantage of the economy price hikes and increasing rent to unaffordable rates. 5 stars, highly recommend.

Negative experience: Do not used these people to purchase a home as a new home buyer!! They are not there for the buyer but they seem to work for seller. We used them in 2018 to buy a home in Fayetteville Pa and Jared wasn’t helpful at all. We didn’t understand at that time, how important inspections were and my husband being blind to the whole process declined inspection and Jared agreed instead of telling us it was very important that we had inspection done. This was the biggest mistake we did. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into after we moved in, we realized that there was a huge hole in the kitchen that the house owner sat a fridge over just so buyers that were viewing the house would not take notice of it. We contacted Jared who represented us from this company, and he had the gut to tell us that the people that owned the house were older people so they would not lied and he said, maybe they didn’t know about the hole being in there which is lied because they purposely sat an old fridge on that spot just to hide it from viewers. He literally spoke in the interest on the seller instead and he did nothing about it further. Fast forward when we got ready to fixed the hole, we realized that the little hole we thought was under the fridge wasn’t so little, it was a hole that extended 79 inches from where the fridge was sitting down to the stove and all the woods under the sink and dishwasher and the wall were all rotten so we needed to tear down the whole wall, cabinets and removed the dishwasher since they were all built into the wall and not installed. With doing all these we ended up in a thousands of dollars expensive that would have been avoided if we had a good agent representing us. Also there were mold all in the basement and due to the hole under the kitchen sink, the whole basement wall on that side behind the book shelf they had built in the wall in the basement were also damaged. As a new home buyers and being clueless to the market we ended up buying a a home that cost us thousands dollars that we didn’t even have to begin with to fixed the house due the an incompetent real estate agent and company. New home buyers, do not used this company!! I repeat, do not use this company!!

Christy’s prompt responses and attention to detail is nothing short of extraordinary. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a management company in the Shippensburg area!

Fantastic experience: I rented from Jalex for a little over a year 2021-2022. The process from the initial application to the ending of the lease was very straightforward and well communicated. They use an online portal for monthly rent payments and to file claims which made things very easy and convenient. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone looking to rent in Chambersburg and Shippensburg areas!

Negative experience: Terrible company. Leaving a one star rating is an appraisal that is beyond generous and truthful. Had the misfortune of dealing with Christy during my time renting through them: an audaciously rude and shifty individual. Do not rent from this organization: the prices are too high and they fail to properly handle maintenance and safety issues in the manner that they are obligated to. A described above, a one star rating is a much higher rating than what they actually are worthy of.

Fantastic experience: We purchased a property with Ja/Lex and they were wonderful! We had a unique loan that moved rather slow, and they helped us keep the seller in the loop and as happy as possible while we waited to get the loan process completed. Bc of my profession, I've been in alot of the properties they manage and I respect them for taking excellent care of the properties and their tenants. I also appreciate their involvement in our community! I highly recommend this company!

Positive experience: I’ve been renting with Jalex for a few years now and have a very good relationship with Virginia and have even gone to her for advice for my family to hopefully be buying a home soon. We have had problems with a neighbor but those problems have been addressed and everyone in the office is aware of the situation and things have been very professional. I’m thankful for Virginia and the support she has given me over the years for the tough spot I was in when I came to her for an apartment.

Fantastic experience: I am a first time renter and I have had a very good experience with JA/LEX so far. I have been living in my apartment for a year now, and so far it has been very good. They respond quickly to any questions or problems you might have and are very professional in responses and getting things done in a timely manner. When I applied to get my apartment, I was just starting out fresh from high school with zero credit and not much money and they still accepted me and even furnished my apartment before I moved in. I never expected to have such a good experience, as I very nervous about living on my own. I would recommend this business to anyone just starting out or going to college. I am so comfortable here and with the staff that I am planning to live here for a couple more years :)

We went through tough times and they worked with us with small payments to catch up on rent they are fast to answer questions and handle any concerns we have. The entire team is amazing , and the maintaince guy is professional and even if I randomly see him around I can ask him to check something quick in our apartment. Negative experience: Honestly, save yourself some time and headaches. We rented with JA/LEX when Virginia was the main person responding to tenants and she was great, but now Jared is "running" daily operations and he is literally the most unprofessional rental agent in Shippensburg. He will laugh in your face, cut you off and raise his voice. He even said he can talk to tenants however he wants. Give your business to another agency!

Negative experience: Scrubbed the place cleaner than it was when I moved in and was told if I found someone to take over the next month I would not get charged. Then they charged me anyways and gave me practically nothing back. I got less back than what I spent to have the carpets cleaned because of the lease. And when I moved in I went through 3 shampooers cleaning the carpets myself, they kept getting clogged with cat hair...NEVER rent through Jalex!!!

Negative experience: Was told water sewer and trash was included. Went to look at apartment and it was not. Absolutely not a way to do business. But like all other landlords and rental companies in Shippensburg, they can do whatever because they will always have college kids to rent to. A darn shame when I would have been a great long term tennent.

Fantastic experience: You won't find a better group! There isn't a sure way to sell a house but there are some sure ways to fail. Some family members and friends have expressed issues with unresponsiveness of other agencies. With this agency, you definitely get an honest and hard working group to assist with your real estate needs. Our house was sold in 72 hours and they assisted with our new home purchase as well. We hold them in the highest regards!

Fantastic experience: We have been with Ja/Lex for 7 years and have had an excellent experience with them. Anytime we had a problem it was dealt with as quickly as possible. Over the years we have had contact with many of the Ja/Lex people and they have always been friendly and courteous.

Positive experience: I have had to remind them many times that they cannot charge me pet rent for my emotional support animal. Sometimes maintenance requests are ignored (been waiting 8 months to get any word on broken porch railings). Some properties seem in worse condition than is fair for the price, and after I moved out of one place the price dropped by 250 and they were allowed to have cats, which I was told was not allowed there. They seem to be getting better, though, and are always nice when I can talk face to face.

Negative experience: They want way to much for the down payment. 2 months rent plus deposit. Ends up being like $2,000 at least on average

Negative experience: Jalex is a horrible agency to buy or rent from. I would 100% recommend checking out one of the many other realtors in Shippensburg who care more about just your money!!

Negative experience: This experience was a total waste of time. ! PET OWNERS! BE WARNED! I asked before I made any appointments if the pet stances were negotiable and was told yes. After viewing four apartments and trying to make an offer on two I was told that the pet was now non-negotiable. Rudely. I got a-hold of another worker and was told I would be called back the next day on whether the pet was negotiable. They did not call me back and now lost a few good tenants. Will be continuing with REMAX. They have been professional the whole time. Was very sad to have this experience because we really liked the apartments. Bad business.
