Experiencia fantástica: This is a long overdue review of my lovely realtor Jessica Broomhead, who handled both the sale of our old home in Stamford, CT, and the purchase of our new home in Beacon, NY in Fall 2025. We basically threw every single obstacle you could dream up at Jess over a whirlwind two months, and she handled every single one of them with grace, knowledge, and a contagious sense of calm. My wife and I were on the verge of a meltdown on about, I dunno, 20 different occasions, and Jess was always there to talk us off the ledge, make a gameplan, and confidently lead us to our next move. Let me give you some examples. We were in the very preliminary stages of shopping for a new house. Browsing. Checking out some new zip codes. In no way prepared to actually put in an offer or list. But then we saw it: the exact house we wanted ... location, features, size, neighborhood. It had everything. Here's the problem: they already had multiple offers in that they were inclined to accept. We would need to make our own offer within days, and we would need to get our own house listed just as quickly. I had a storage Pod in my driveway the next morning. A day later the house was staged and photographed. A day after that it was listed — less than 72 hours after we'd decided to make our move. Jess spearheaded every single step of this mayhem. Then she got our home listed on an Instagram account with half a million followers. She got us a New York Times feature. She hosted multiple open houses while we were out of town. She guided us through two offers that fell apart after inspection, and ultimately helped us land on the best offer of all. She knew when to accept buyer demands and when to push back, and she was always flexible, adaptable, and available at the drop of a hat. Oh yeah, and she help us get an offer accepted for our dream home that was (allegedly) lower than others that had been tabled. She connected us with a great lawyer, great mortgage broker, great inspector, yadda yadda yadda ... she's a one-stop shop. If you're a novice home buyer/seller like I was, you won't find someone more equipped to hold your hand through everything. So, yeah. There's literally 0 chance we could've made any of this happen without Jessica. We are extremely lucky to have found her, and I would entrust her with this process again in a heartbeat.

We’ve bought/sold several homes over the years and (we thought!) generally knew what to expect. However, we had to search for a home remotely, in both NY and CT, and in a continually crazy market. Jessica made this so much less stressful and problematic than it could have been. She was willing to tour homes for us via FaceTime, adapt quickly to changes, and accommodate us on short notice. On the few weekends that we were able to travel to the area, she was able to set up tours at every house we wanted to see. Jessica knows the NY/CT area very well and provided great insight. I usually try to avoid all eye contact with sellers’ agents at these things, but Jessica was a breath of fresh air and radiated warmth and ease. We spoke a bit and took her card home. We hadn’t gotten pre-approval or figured out closing costs yet because we just went to that open house on a whim. But I knew immediately that Jessica would be our agent! We had a zoom call to get to know each other and go over our lonnnng list of must-haves and our limited budget. She wasn’t at all deterred and got to work on creating home criteria profiles for us and scheduling showings. We put in multiple offers after that, all over asking, and we kept getting our dreams smashed by the ever-toxic housing market insanity. On top of not having a golden egg from our parents, we also were adamant about using the VA loan my partner had sacrificed so many years to be rewarded with. But sellers were instantly prejudiced against our offers when they saw the VA loan part. Jessica went above and beyond to engage the sellers’ agents about the modernization and facts surrounding a VA loan. Most sellers and agents have very little if any experience with VA loans and would flat out tell us to our faces they’re disdain for our loan type. We were so lucky to have Jessica in our corner and not trying to change our minds towards a conventional loan. She understood its importance (almost a 2% lower than market interest rate, zero down, no PMI, half the fees of a conventional closing, etc.). I’m writing this review one week before we close on the most beautiful 19th century cape cod in an incredible village. It more than checked every single box on our original list. And Jessica’s strong real estate connections, deft offer writing, and confidence in working with the sellers’ agent through their initial VA concerns got us this house. We can’t thank her enough for guiding us, especially the periods where we were sullen from another offer rejection and nothing but dreadful houses on the market. She kept encouraging us and now we are embarking on the most exciting journey, our first home!

She found us a home that surpassed all our expectations (size, commute, neighborhood, condition) and was somehow still in our budget. We began working with her in fall 2021 and she patiently helped us figure out what towns and neighborhoods in southern Westchester matched our needs. By spring 2022, we were looking more seriously and she joined us for about 12 viewings. In May she showed us an off-market house we couldn't have found on our own.
