Before you think, bummer – I’d rather go the other direction, the move and reception in our new home has been wonderful, and we really do miss the four seasons. We had visited the area many times for work or holiday but had never lived in the area and did not know even where within the greater Boston area to live. Prior to our virtual meeting with the relocation coordinator at Berkshire Hathaway in Boston, we sent our criteria for the ideal home we were seeking and explained that we were looking for an agent who could really understand our needs. Bob Bittelari was assigned to our case and we consider ourselves very fortunate. Bob is an agent who really understands the client's needs and is at hand to assist at every step of the home purchase. He really listens to the client. For example, we have a grand piano and like to play it, so specifications include no downstairs neighbors. We like to grill, so backyard would be nice. We like to walk or bike to work in Cambridge, so proximity to work or public transportation adds another filter, further reducing the possible homes, and we are scientists, not billionaires, so please do this all within a reasonable budget. Bob is very knowledgeable about the housing market in the Boston area. As we are new to the area, Bob suggested several neighborhoods that we hadn’t considered. Bob helped educate us about many properties that look wonderful on the internet but had issues upon tour. Bob was present on nearly all the tours we did. I always felt that I was his personal client. We mutually agreed that Mother’s Day was off limits for tours, but otherwise he was available to respond quickly to queries or was sending us ideas of new homes that had just come onto the market. Despite the competitive market for buyers in Spring 2022, we purchased a home in a relatively short period of a few weeks of active searching, both remotely and in person, with the first offer we made. Bob and Leanne are super responsive and great at communicating the entire process so we were never blindsided by the unexpected. They were also so patient in answering my many many questions along the way and have the experience to not only provide us with the information we asked but also mention the things we didn't even think to ask. When we needed recommendations for lenders, inspectors, closing attorneys - they had it all and because of it we ended up with a really fantastic team from start to finish. Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend Bob Bittelari to anyone looking to buy or sell their home. We did both, and the fear is always paying too much for the home you’re buying while not getting enough for the home you’re selling. Bob Bittelari helped us do both of those things, except without actually selling our home. He was good at moving the process along to work in his favor, while way overestimating the price of the home we were selling. 6 months later, our home was still on the market for $50k less than the price he was sure we could quickly get. We had to move on and find another agent who quickly sold our home for a good price during a global pandemic. I just regret putting as much trust in Bob Bittelari as I did, and for as long as I did. Do some research on your agent, and better yet, get recommendations from someone you trust. If there are barely any reviews online other than the ones the agent posts themselves, there’s a reason for it.
