Experiencia negativa: My experience with Weichert Realtors - Blue Ribbon, specifically with Kristina Towns, was deeply disappointing on both the buying and selling sides. Initially, she was assigned to us through our relocation team when my family was moved from California. We did not choose her; she was selected by our relocation service. At first, she appeared attentive and friendly, but as the transactions progressed, it became evident that critical processes were not followed, ultimately jeopardizing my family’s financial and personal well-being. On the buying side, Kristina strongly encouraged us to waive inspections and offer an inflated purchase price to secure the home—advice that, in hindsight, seemed to prioritize her relationships over our best interests. After moving in, we discovered severe issues: no running water, significant damage, and excessive trash left behind by the sellers, who had continued to occupy the home after closing. The heating system also did not work. In response, Kristina referred her acquaintance, an individual with a criminal record named Stan, to “fix” these problems. He accomplished nothing but still charged us $200. Further complicating matters, we attempted to recover the $2,000 post-occupancy security deposit, but Virginia law requires mutual agreement from both parties before funds can be released. The sellers refused, forcing us to wait three years before I personally negotiated a partial refund—resulting in only half the amount being returned. This was not the first home we had attempted to purchase with Kristina. Initially, we were set to close on a property in Stephens City, but just two days before closing, the sellers backed out. As a family of five, we were left in an extremely difficult situation. Kristina attributed their decision to racism, claiming the sellers refused to sell because I am part Black. While we wanted to pursue legal action, she dissuaded us, insisting that proving such allegations would be impossible. Home Sale Experience Despite our previous negative experience, my husband suggested giving Kristina another chance when we later decided to sell our home in Middletown, VA, as she had given our business some work in the past. Reluctantly, I agreed. This turned out to be a grave mistake. From day one, the selling process was a disaster. Our home remained on the market for five months, during which Kristina pressured us into accepting two lowball offers—one of which fell through on the day of closing when the buyer failed to show. She was combative and unprofessional, frequently clashing with Texas-based realtors, many of whom ultimately refused to work with her. Her work was sloppy, careless, and, at times, outright deceptive. I repeatedly caught discrepancies between what she told us and what appeared in the actual contracts—often in ways that increased our costs by providing additional concessions to buyers. This raised serious concerns: Was she padding her own commission? Was she colluding with the buyer’s agent? I can’t say for certain, but the inconsistencies were alarming. Unethical and Fraudulent Behavior Perhaps the most egregious incident was when Kristina impersonated me by calling my electric company without my authorization to access my account details. This occurred after we fell out of escrow for the second time. Financially stretched from carrying both our Virginia home and living expenses in Texas, we were unable to immediately restore the electricity. Rather than respect our situation, Kristina took it upon herself to fraudulently obtain our account information and later emailed me the balance—an outrageous breach of trust and privacy. I will be filing a formal complaint regarding this misconduct. Throughout our dealings, Kristina made several questionable and racially insensitive remarks, which we initially dismissed as ignorance rather than malice. However, after enduring multiple unethical actions and betrayals, it became clear that she is neither trustworthy nor professional. Kristina made things costly, stressful, and deeply regrettable ordeal.
