Experiencia negativa: I had a truly terrible experience with Amy a few years back but I am just now getting around to writing a review. She assisted me and my boyfriend at the time of purchasing our first home. She showed us one of her own listings and we decided to purchase, making her the buying and selling agent (little did I know that this is VERY frowned upon!). She was very inattentive, and at one point she wasn’t doing her job well (her sellers were angry about how long the process was taking so she told the sellers that it was our lender‘s fault- our lender then reached out to me and told me how Amy had blamed the situation on her and then gave the sellers my lender’s direct number- she’d never experienced anything like it before! Absolutely appalled). Come closing day, Amy text me and let me know she left the home key under a rock in front of the house. She didn’t even meet us to congratulate us on our first home and she certainly didn’t give us any sort of closing gift. Considering she got double commission for that transaction, you’d think she would have don’t something nice. Since then, I’ve heard several other negative experiences from other people who have worked with her. I find it hard to believe that she’s had only positive reviews from people. Obviously, I would NOT recommend her as a realtor.

Fast forward a bunch of years and it came time for my wife and I to buy a house. It has always been said not to mix friendships and business,but Amy Dean is the kind of individual that is the exception. I have full faith in this because her work ethic and personal investments are in everything she ever focuses on. In gymnastics it was her training, at the University of Oregon it was her studies and being one of the strongest Pole vaulters, and in her career it was and is her lifestyle. Amy isn't in the market of real estate to sell people houses, she is rather in the profession to help people find actual homes. She is so darn good at her job because she treats people as people and not as objects. And business is good when you care about people. When Amy helped my wife and I find a home we had just found out that we were pregnant, and our list was so unbelievably specific and picky that every other realtor we talked to or ran into basically told us,"good luck it's not going to happen". One of the things I like about Amy is that she has a system and she trusts this system and invests in it as well as invests into caring about what her customers and clientele are truly asking for. I wanted four bedrooms and two bathrooms,fifth wheel parking and a shop with a home that was on county property and not in the flood zone. My wife wanted to be in the city, and in something that was polished and clean enough to be family ready. We wanted all of this within a certain budget. Amy was very real that the budget we were seeking was not realistic so we had to expand our budget a little bit and just wait for the right fish. She took extra time to help trim my rough edges to understanding how the home Market really works, and that patience and precision were key to me trusting her implicitly. Even her flat out disagreeing with me or being candid about facts over feelings....gosh I wish more people did that. After several months, I was about ready to just give in to whatever my wife found suitable... Amy pulled us to a location that is now our home. It has everything on the list as well as an extra bathroom, booyah! Now I also believe that God himself was listening to our prayers but that he also helped answer those prayers by sending us a pretty stellar individual. I was getting prettyp in the purchasing process regarding the people selling us the home and Amy was patient with me through the entire process. I probably deserved a smacking or two but for me I didn't want the largest purchase and investment of my life and my family to be something not particular about. Amy understood this and never once gave me anything less but unbelievable professionalism and support no matter how frustrating I might have been. Amy Dean also helped my parents get out from underneath a property that no other agency or realtor was able to get them out of. My parents are going to use her when they want to sell their farm as my wife and I will absolutely fall back on her and her knowledge when we decide to sell this home and purchase a larger property which is in the future. I'm a country boy and like to keep things simple, the only reason I've left this rant and rave is because it's true. In short, if you want one of the strongest, sincerest, wonderfully knowledgeable and most experienced agents in Oregon, choosing Amy Dean falls nothing short of a wise decision because it shows you care about what you're doing.
