Marianne Ackerman and Haddie Lopez were by far the best real estate professionals I have ever worked with. Experiencia negativa: Property Shop discriminates agains Veterans. My wife and I recently were looking for homes where Property Shop was the listing broker of two homes we put in offers on. On the first offer we went almost $30k over asking price. But because we had a VA loan we were not considered for the home. We were told that we needed an escalation clause as well as an appraisal gap clause in case the home didn’t appraise for the value we were paying. We chalked the first home up to a learning curve and ensured we put an escalation clause and appraisal gap language on the next offer so that we were up to speed with what Property Shop was looking for. My wife and I loved the next home and put in an escalation clause up to 670k when the asking price was only 600k. We also included appraisal gap language in case our offer was higher than what the home appraised for. We did not win the offer and wondered how we could get beat again with that high of an offer. When the home sold we were able to see what offer was accepted and the home sold for 601k despite our offer that was much greater. From the start Property Shop made it clear they didn’t like the VA loan because we didn’t have a cash down payment and to them that meant we didn’t have skin in the game. Funky how you can serve your country but then go to buy a home and have a company deny your offer and not present it because they are only thinking about the commissions. My friend knows the sellers of that home and they stated that they never even received that offer meaning the company never presented it despite saying that they did. We ended up getting a home a little further up the same road without any funding issues. Companies like Property Shop reap the benefits of a free country but don’t serve those who served them. I would highly recommend not using this company. Not only did they lose the seller almost 70k, they also took a home out from underneath an honorably discharged Navy Diver with a perfectly good loan.
