For those who want to know why, read on. We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Jason from beginning to end. He is extremely knowledgeable, diligent, easygoing, and pays attention to every detail. He leaves no stone unturned. He made sure we understood exactly what was going to happen before it happened and took the time to explain the paperwork, the entire process, the possible ups and downs, what could happen and what might not happen, and even the best-case and worst-case scenarios. There were no surprises because Jason made sure we were prepared every step of the way. One of the things that impressed us most was how well Jason knew the market. He knew the comparable homes, what our house could realistically sell for, what buyers were looking for, and exactly how the home should be positioned and listed. He was also extremely helpful when it came to preparing the house for sale. He explained what was worth fixing, painting or improving and, just as importantly, what we did not need to waste time or money doing. Then came the photography, video and marketing of our home, and I have to say, when I saw it, it made me want to buy my own house all over again. The transformation was unbelievable. After the passing of a family member, we were forced to deal with the long agonizing process of the surrogates court. The process ended up taking a little over 3 years (all the courts fault, no will) . Throughout all this time, Jason has helped at every turn. Taking the time to stay in regular contact with multiple family members, helping maintain and cleanout the property, assisting with the attorneys when they were dragging their feet or unreachable; and most importantly to anybody reading this; getting us far beyond what we would have expected for the property. These guys have a lot of contacts, far beyond a regular residential realtor, many of which came in useful, but the amount of builders and real estate investors in their rolodex, made the actual listing and sale of the property the easiest and most satisfying part. Experiencia fantástica: At the end of 2021, I began the process of selling the Townhome of a deceased relative by calling around Staten Island-based brokers using Internet reviews as well as a broker referral service. After many interviews, and a few live meetings, I signed the contract to work with Jason and Hal based solely on my gut feeling that they, compared to others, would live up to the promises outlined in their company brochure. The court involved process of probate was protracted and stressful for me but Jason provided great local resources and advice on how to clear out the premises and prepare the property for sale. The market pricing advice was spot on and realistic to what buyers would offer given needed cosmetic upgrades – paint, flooring, appliances, etc. The home sold and the closing sorted within three months of the initial listing. My only advice would be to personally meet and interview your Real Estate Attorney before engaging him or her. The 5-hour long closing was harrowing with the lack of advance communication between the buyer/bank attorneys. I could only write this review after I received the official Deed transfer, and satisfaction of mortgage from the City Of New York and the mortgage company a month after the closing. Happy to close on this chapter, and so glad I had Jason and Hal supporting me throughout.

First I tried to sell it myself, but quickly realized that it’s not the best way to get a property sold, since I live about 1 1/2 hours away in NJ. I interviewed 7 Staten Island realtors and was shocked. I got everything from people that are part time agents(really), to many that didn’t seem to have knowledge of the market, to one that clearly did not have my families best interest at heart…was just looking for a listing. Then I met with, Hal and Jason Blake, and I can tell you they were a breath of fresh air. They were honest. They listened to what my needs where. They were not pushy, as a matter of fact I had to ask for the contract at the end of our meeting, even though Hal suggested meeting with my family before making a decision to have them represent the property. As you can image, an estate property comes with it’s unique problems, but Hal was there every step of the way. He has a team of people to help you through the process. He got me a junk guy (at the best price-hands down), to help get the property cleaned out for listing, and if you ever had to clean out someone else life, especially your mom and dad’s it is very difficult and emotional. Because the property had not been updated in a long time, I was prepared to do a complete renovation. Hal guided me to make the minimal updating that he felt was necessary to get the property sold based on his experience, saving me about $30,000. He found me contractors to interview to do the work. He held numerous successful open houses-driving tons of people through the property. Probate created a number of difficult issues in and of itself that were extremely stressful. Even though it was technically a legal issue Hal did everything he could to streamline the process. He often handled things that he didn’t need to simply to save me a trip into SI. I have been in business for 30 years, and I can confidently say that you will not find ANY better, kinder, more knowledgeable and more professional realtors in the SI area that Hal and Jason Blake.
