There were a lot of hoops to jump through, but she was guiding us the entire way. As she helped us with the purchasing of our farm back, she was also working hard to sell our lake house. She was always prompt in answering my text or calls and was so knowledgeable about the process. She really helped calm us many times when we were ready to give up. We were already sold on Team Lehman because of my dear friend Susan, but now we also have another realtor that has become a dear friend. I will cherish this friendship that has been born out of what was one of the most stressful times of our lives, and not due to anything negative that she did. There was just so much at stake that I still don't know if she knows how important this was for us. I truly believed this was life saving. I apologize for getting so personal, but my wife has struggled with depression for the last 6 years since we left the farm. I bought my first home, an older house (pre 1930) , in 1973. Within a few years I added an art studio as a separate structure on the property. This house and adjacent studio served as my primary residence for many years. In time they were converted to rental properties. In 2021 after renovating both structures I decided to sell. I am friends with a hand full of real estate agents working for different companies in the area. I chose Susan Lehman and her small team because of their strong local presence and great reputation. I have also known Susan and some of her team casually through the years in different capacities and know them to be good people with deep roots in the Montevallo community. As this was the first property I have ever sold and therefore naive about the process I needed to put my faith and trust in my agent. Susan Lehman walked and talked me through the legal process answering all my questions. She and her team also made positive suggestions about how to best prepare the property for showing. We spoke almost daily and she was respectful of all of my concerns and constant questions. I really felt as if I was her only client. As soon as the sign went up one of Susan’s team members, who is a master at staging homes, began her work. They staged both structures beautifully and in great detail showing potential buyers visual options for the property both inside and out. A professional photographer was then hired to document the property. Two “open houses” were scheduled which included refreshments and even transportation to the property. Within a few days the property was under contract. The closing, conveniently scheduled in Team Lehman’s Montevallo office, went smoothly. Susan Lehman and her team are delightful, good humored people who share their professionalism with potential buyers and sellers.
