Experiencia negativa: I applied for a house and was told that he didn’t see me getting approved for the house do to me having to take previous slum lords without certificates of compliance to court every time I put the money in escrow and won every judgment and received my money back one house the basement kept flooding I paid them 3000 to dig up the backyard and they disappeared with the money I was told by the property manager that the owner didn’t have the money to make repairs another house I was living in the basement wall was caving in the foundation was splitting down the middle I put that money in escrow these are places I always paid on time but when it was time to do the work they wanted me to be responsible for it as if it was my home I have court records to back up everything the company they use to report their information is spreading false information so I will be suing the person I spoke with at golden key talked to me so rude to the point where I was very upset they even brought up the house I’m living in now with a open court case because the person who rented out the house to me was not the real owner on top of that house doesn’t have a a certificate of occupancy and I can’t even put the light bill in my name do to them doing fraud keep in mind I never been evicted in my life it’s a lot of racial prejudice at this company and I’m going to get to the bottom of it

Experiencia negativa: Really bad communicators. Don't expect them to take care of maintenance. One single person, Brian, has ever been helpful when I’ve tried to call for answers. Give him a raise and maybe look over your organizational structure.

Experiencia negativa: Some of the worst service I've ever received when you try to call the office they instantly end your call after 2 minutes. They also told me and my family that if there's any maintenance that needs to be done we have to fix it ourselves. They never reply to emails either

I wish I would’ve read the reviews before applying!! Save your money and go elsewhere cause they will not communicate with you! Experiencia negativa: This is the worst property management company ever. My mom and I rented from them for a year. Once we got in there were issues with water and the stairs at first they told us it was our responsibility to fix then eventually fixed it. We moved 2 months before lease was up we continued to pay rent on time. However when moving out Golden key Suzanne specifically was very rude about our security deposit. I called almost every day inquiring about it as we are one day to the 30 days. Suzanne claim They never got a forwarding address which is a lie since my mom gave it to Marina and Chris the day we left. Suzanne kept saying if I didn’t stop interrupting her she would keep my deposit. I told them I would sue then miraculously the address is found. Please stay away from this company. They are very unprofessional and will try to keep your security deposit for no reason. Suzanne should be fired. She is the rudest person I have ever spoke with. Her customer service skills are horrible and then threatening to keep my deposit bc I’m interrupting the foolishness she tryna sell me.

Experiencia negativa: They don't work with u with nothing so unless your record is squeaky clean I advise you to save your application fee before you apply try somewhere that actual cares for their tenants and getting them approved accepted for housing….this was a waste of 55$ to get denied for something thats almost ten years old and never been a issue before.

Experiencia negativa: They discriminate against the elderly and impoverished. A family friend filed a small claims suit in 36th District Court because they kept trying to bully her and refused to treat her with any respect. She is a heart patient and on Section 8 because she cannot work. They have now tried to evict her TWICE simply because she knows her rights and stood up for herself and refused to sign a predatory electronic lease, refused to let them enter without notice and called Detroit BSEED when they refused to keep the property up. They may be nice in Oakland County but if you're in Detroit BEWARE!!!!! 36th District Court Case 23340961GC brought against your company by the tenant after she was constantly harassed by your employees after she called BSEED. Then you had your attorney, in violation of MCL 600.5720(1)(a) try to evict her via case 23354290LT it was dismissed after your attorney nor anyone from your company came to court. Now you all have filed case 23359004LT alleging that this elderly woman with several heart conditions that cannot even lift 20lbs threatened employees and potential tenants. You all are a disgrace and what you are doing IS HORRIBLE and a matter of public record which anymore can look up! Stop it with your "two sides" pander. Your side is WRONG and I'm telling the world. I don’t need to know the two sides to a story. The court cases is public information , I have read them. You are still a predatory company. It’s in black and white public information!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I have been renting a property in Detroit for over a year through Golden Key. I love the property but the management of the company sucks! Originally they put the house on the market stating it had 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, but in reality its 2 bedrooms and an attic that was turned into a bedroom. The attic/bedroom doesn't have heat vents and only 1 electrical socket, which doesn't qualify as a bedroom. Also the second bathroom is just a half bath with a shower that was put in. The shower is on a slant so the water wont drain properly, and the drains get clogged a lot. When i put in maintenance request i get denied and I'm told its my responsibility, and as it states in my lease, it is my responsibility. However, if the dishwasher is faulty and leaking on the kitchen floor, what am i supposed to do about the damage? Originally the real estate agent Joe had explained that the rent is due on the 1st of the month and there's a clause that says we can pay as late as the first Friday of the month without late fees. When we saw the lease it said we had to pay on the first of every month and if we don't were charged 10% of the entire rent for paying the rent 1 day late, and $10 a day that its late. We receive nasty messages from Heather and Joe demanding us to pay the rent, even though its just a few days late and we've communicated when the rent will be paid. I believe the people at this office have a bias toward people of color who stay in the city of Detroit and I would not recommend this company.

Once we moved in we’ve had a few maintenance issues and they have addresses every issue promptly without questions. I would recommend anyone to rent from Golden Key!

I applied for one of there homes and it stated online zero application's (mind you i applied)and over 344 people inquired about the property... you have alot of these properties management companies only taking application fees just for the money and this is one... the house was listed on the site for over 90 days as well. Yet no one got approved this is bull... STOP TAKING PEOPLE APPLICATION FEES JUST FOR MONEY... GOD WILL DEAL WITH YOU SCAMMERS .... Yes I declined because you all never responded professionally... Your company is trash and your a scam ain't no way to justify it.... also I applied on the 20th in didn't get a response until after the 1st which was on the 3rd now you do the math... your email shows dates that help my case... your a fraud and I can't wait to see yall on Fox 2 Problem solvers and the Hall of Shame... STRAIGHT TRASH!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I applied for housing through this company.... unfortunately I did not get approved for the house I was really interested in..... however I did apply for another house under this same company and hoping to be able to move forward....out of all the houses I've toured through different agencies...it seems like this company take good care of their homes,...all of the houses I've seen are really nice. I've had no problem with customer service when I called to check the status of my application....the guy that answered was very professional and informative!!! EDIT: Although I did not get approved for the 2nd house either....my first review still stands...the customer is not bad at all...I broke down in tears because I am trying so hard to make a better life for myself and my 2 little ones...my credit is terrible...and I understand why I'm not getting approved... it's nobody's fault but my own!!

Experiencia negativa: This company is a scam they have no idea of the own policies terms and conditions and when it is brought to their attention they deny it they are very unprofessional as their receptionist hung the phone on me for re-educating her on the policy that comes in her hand book I got scammed out of a 50 application fee they also made false accusations about my credit report you will be hearing from my lawyer I hope that $50 was worth it now u have a law suite coming your way.

They came to Toronto in 2018 and gave an investment seminar. I was impressed by how knowledgeable they were. My friends and I then went to see some properties. We all bought the properties in 2019. They have carefully selected the good quality tenants, and they continuously maintained. So the return of my investment is really good. Their team can also use wechat and speak Chinese. They always replied even after office hours. Great team! I really appreciate their work!

Experiencia negativa: This company has left multiple notices at my house and at neighbors' claiming that they are taking over property management of our homes - which are owner occupied. They are either running some illegal scam or they are negligent in checking their records. The letters threaten to drill through locks in order to enter our homes if we don't reply.

They quickly took my property into their portfolio from a what could have been a devastating outcome. I got the agents number (Jaime) but she does not return calls. I seen her at one showing and she texted me to give me information. but whenever I call she does not answer. Almost as if they don't want tenants. But then again this shows why they have 1.7 star rating. This also shows how they would act if you became a tenant. Terrible Terrible, Terrible!
