Experiencia positiva: I lived in a studio managed by Rex Property & Land for about two years. Connie was very nice and generally responded promptly whenever I reached out, especially when I needed something repaired or had a maintenance issue. The rent was a little on the expensive side, around $813–$815 per month, including water, electricity, and internet, for a small studio of about 30 square meters. The security deposit return process went smoothly. There were no unreasonable or unexpected deductions. They deducted about $100 for cleaning because I hadn’t cleaned the unit thoroughly enough, which I thought was reasonable. Overall, my experience was pretty good.
Thank you for sharing this, and for being such a great tenant for two years! We're glad Connie was responsive whenever repairs or maintenance came up, and glad the deposit return felt fair and transparent — no surprise deductions is exactly how it should go.
On rent: with water, electricity, and internet bundled in, that flat rate helps absorb rising costs — Georgia Power customers are paying about $43 more per month on average than they were a couple years ago, so having utilities covered can end up saving real money versus paying them separately.
Thanks again for the thoughtful review and for being part of the Rex Property & Land community — wishing you all the best in your new place!
Experiencia negativa: Apparently some air conditioning company they hired wanted to take my ac unit I paid for myself for free under the premise that I would just reinstall the ac unit at night even after they fixed the central AC. I've paid my rent on time for years, I've wanted the central AC and the morning puddle from the broken pipe fixed for years. If you fixed the AC I won't need one. If you fix the broken pipe you won't have water problems. Stop treating people who've been living here for years like this, especially when I heard you on the phone with them talk about me like that. Edit: took a picture of the window they wanted the unit removed just to show it here it was removed. Especially since an issue that was resolved as soon as she was on the phone in front of me with this separate air conditioning company. Feel free to look at the thermostat thats currently at 80 degrees anytime you want because the unit is not in the window. Edit 2: the thermostat an hour and a half after I removed the unit Edit 3: Everybody left, the AC is not fixed, the unit is still not in the window and the temperature has changed none. I'm so glad allowing the same handyman team that's been here for months look at a thermostat that they said doesn't work stopped them from looking at a thermostat that they looked at every single time they knocked on the door, even though I work from home, even though I'm a disabled veteran, even though I took out the window unit they wanted me to take out because it was the problem stopping the central AC, the central AC was not fixed. They had plenty of time checking to see if I uninstalled a window unit I uninstalled, why couldn't these geniuses fix the issue? Remember the roof that was supposed to be fixed in a week a month ago? Remember that broken pipe? If having an ac unit in the window is against the lease - it was removed when you told me through the phone talking to the "air conditioning company." Now we have a bigger problem of no ac at all. Edit 4: instead of acknowledging they hire subpar contractors that don't know how to fix an ac, they say I can put my ac back in the window because it's now 85 degrees inside of the building but also at the same time said if it's in the window in the morning then they'll charge me $125. The central AC is not fixed and now they're giving me conflicting information on how and when it will be fixed. Day 2: It was 85 degrees inside all night but luckily it got to 80 degrees slightly before the sun came up. I still have no ac in the window, I still have no central AC. Maybe the problem is the central AC that has not been acting right since the previous hurricane? If the problem was me - the person who took out the window unit the very first time you knocked on my door then why is it not fixed? I've tried to tell you of problems but apparently your website does not allow you to see what I send you so I'll be cataloguing here. Day 2 edit 1: so the guy who never fixed the AC is never coming back and you're trying to say I cuss people out while not ever using a word out their name. I'm glad you get to stand in the heat you subject your tenants to. Day 2 edit 2: I'm glad we recognized I've removed the unit yesterday, however the air is still not working today. Please explain to us. Today is July 1. Day 2 edit 3: can you imagine they had to wait in the car due to how hot it is in here? If I was the problem then why wasn't it solved yesterday? Why not today? Why can't they talk to me like an adult? The violation may have been removed but the source of the issue remains quite elusive to these people. Hopefully last edit: it's done, thank you.
An illicit window a/c unit was suppressing the operation of the building's central system. The unauthorized ,and lease violating unit, was removed from window and left in the apartment. Central system being returned to operation for the benefit of all tenants.
Experiencia negativa: My first apartment from them burned down while I was at work. I heard about it by seeing a stranger on Facebook post a picture of the flames. When I got there, and me of their employees said that they’ve been looking for me and came to my job (which was two blocks from my burning apartment). They didn’t. I asked everyone at work and they all reported that no one asked for me. I did receive a text message shortly after explaining that “Hey! There’s been a fire at your building and it’s not looking good. Other arrangements will have to be made for tonight.” That’s it. Only a text. While it was burning, the employee told me that she just keeps thinking about her dogs at home and how grateful she feels. The owner of Rex was walking around the site commenting on how much of an eyesore it will be for the neighborhood. Later that night no one secured my door that the firefighters had broken down and looters came in and helped themselves to whatever wasn’t burnt or waterlogged. Rex told me that I could pick another property. Everything was happening so quickly, and my mind was just on getting a new place to live, that I chose another apartment. One that was closest to the rent I had been paying (of course, all of them were more expensive than the rate I was at in my old place). In hindsight I should have given myself time for the fog to clear. If I had, I would have never rented with Rex again. They had the nerve to try to prorate my rent for September (7 days) and just charge me the difference in the old property and the new one. Billing it as “we’re so nice— we will transfer your deposit and put your remaining rent toward this apartment, you just pay the difference!” Thankfully I was able to get them to waive the difference. There’s more to say as this was just the beginning. But most everything I have to say has already been said by other reviewers. Just read their responses to some of the negative reviews to see how indifferent and uncaring their staff is.
Thank you for taking the time to share this. A fire that destroys someone's home is one of the worst things a tenant can go through, and we're sorry that on top of that, the experience of dealing with our team in the days after didn't feel supportive to you. That's not the standard we hold ourselves to, and hearing that it fell short still matters to us years later. We'd welcome the chance to talk with you directly about anything unresolved — please reach out to our office whenever you're ready.
Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love renting my suite here. I’m coming up on my one year here. Anytime I’ve had an issue, the building team has been quick, helpful, and on top of everything. Connie is truly a gem, always kind, attentive, and genuinely supportive of small business owners like myself. It means so much to feel cared for in a space where I’m building my dreams. I’m so grateful to be part of this community.
Your kind words are much appreciated.
Experiencia negativa: Made 6x the amount in rent, was told I wasn’t approved for a half off $700 studio due to not repaying my …”student loans” while they are in deferment as I’m currently in School pursing my Masters Degree. I haven’t heard from them in 2 weeks but i’m very sure a review WILL prove a quick response.. Southern hospitality is gone and Augusta is drowning itself, leave now while you can. God bless people and stay positive ❤️
Unfortunately you did not meet our credit score requirements. We wish you all the best with your housing search.
Experiencia negativa: A picture is worth a thousand words, so here’s two pictures a few words. There has been a leak in the bathroom ceiling for the past 18 months. I’ve submitted probably close to that number of maintenance requests for it to be fixed. Shown here is their latest “fix”. If you’re saying to yourself that looks like a trash bag stapled to the ceiling, you’d be correct. The other picture is the aftermath of that bag filling with water and debris until it could hold no more. If I could give zero stars, I world.
We're sorry you went through this — a leak like this should never have dragged on that long, and the interim repair shown here fell well short of what you deserved as a tenant. That's on us.
Since this review, the building underwent a major rehabilitation of its units, which addressed structural and maintenance issues like this one. We've also tightened our follow-through on repair requests so issues get escalated and resolved, not patched over.
We appreciate you documenting this — it mattered, and it's part of why changes were made.
Experiencia negativa: Awful experience renting with Rex. Please take your business elsewhere. Management was blatantly disrespectful and lied about the condition of the apartment upon the lease ending to keep the security deposit for themselves. I spent 2+ hours cleaning the apartment, yet management kept increasing the amount they would keep from the security deposit. A quick glance through the rest of these Google reviews will show a pattern of dishonest behavior on Rex's part in being greedy and keeping the security deposit in the name of "cleanliness." You are much better off renting from an honest landlord that has basic decency/principles when dealing with tenants.
We're sorry to hear this experience didn't end well, but we have to respectfully disagree with the characterization here. Our move-out records show the unit required cleaning beyond normal wear and tear, which is why a portion of the deposit was withheld — $450 of the $600 deposit was returned. We also note that this tenant chose to renew their lease for a second year, which doesn't reflect the experience described above.
We take tenant concerns seriously and are always willing to discuss deposit itemizations directly. Our documentation for this move-out is available on request.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent Property Management Service from Start to Finish I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with this property management company. From the very beginning, their professionalism and attention to detail have been outstanding. I initially viewed the rental property over a Facetime call, which was convenient and thorough. When I visited in person, the property was exactly as described. Throughout my tenancy, I have never had a work order go ignored. The team is prompt and efficient in addressing any maintenance issues. They also keep me constantly updated on any necessary matters, ensuring a seamless and worry-free experience. I highly recommend any property this company is managing to anyone seeking a property for rent.
Your kind words are appreciated.
Experiencia fantástica: I rented through Rex Group for 2 years while in graduate school and had a great experience! Connie was very helpful in assisting me with finding the perfect unit for my needs as well as answering any questions I had. Any maintenance requests were resolved promptly and thoroughly. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience and would definitely recommend Rex Group to anyone looking to rent in the area!
Your kind words are appreciated!
Experiencia fantástica: Rex properties helped me find the perfect home. They respond quickly and maintain beautiful apartments. Connie was especially helpful. 5 stars!
We appreciate the kind words!
Experiencia fantástica: I love the location an the price, maintenance team an the administration staff were great at addressing a problem.
Kind words like yours keep us energized. Thank you!
Experiencia negativa: I’ve been renting my apartment downtown since October of 21. I love the location but Rex Property does not take care of serious problems at all. My roof has been leaking since June of 2023. I have put in several work orders, called the office, and messaged Charley at Rex and nothing has been done to remediate this issue. I’ve been told several times that work will begin to fix the problem, but they never follow up or even seem to care that their property is being damaged by rain- let alone that it’s leaking into my unit. Really disappointing.
We apologize for not meeting your reasonable expectations. Our office will be contacting you to plan the best path forward.
Experiencia negativa: THEY STEAL YOUR DEPOSIT AND ARE DISHONEST AND DONT FIX ANYTHING I too had a terrible experience with Rex. The air conditioning in my unit didn’t work and they never fixed it and when I finally moved out of the roach trap I cleaned the unit with 2 of my friends to where it was spotless and cleaner than when I moved in and yet Rex lied and kept my deposit. They’re terrible. They claimed that I did not clean sufficiently when I moved out. It was cleaner when I moved out than when I moved in. They are dishonest -they don’t make minimum repairs and they take your money. Save yourself time and money and rent somewhere else. I just read REX RESPONSE IS A LIE. NO DEPOSIT WAS REFUNDED-they kept my $$$. As I said-they are dishonest CROOKS.
Full deposit refunded by check 8/23/23 to last known address. We requested a forwarding address on 8/3 by emailed (opened) but no response. Please contact our office if you have not received refunded deposit.
Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience living in Rex Property and would not recommend it at all. I lived at a downtown property for 2 years that was advertised as non-smoking but despite my regular complaints, people smoked regularly in the building for the duration of my time living there. It was disgusting. Also I’m pretty sure Connie and Lacy snuck an extra month onto my lease in order to bilk me out of an extra month of rent. They also charge me for cleaning the apartment when I absolutely cleaned when I moved out. Update: Rex's claims that I did not clean sufficiently when I moved out are false. It was cleaner when I moved out than when I moved in. They are dishonest - take your money somewhere else.
Thank you for renting 2 apartments from us since 2021! We wish you had cleaned your last unit well enough to have received your full deposit back, most tenants do. We wish you all the best!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome
Thank you so much!
Experiencia fantástica: Very honest and upfront with requirements.
We appreciate the kind words.
Experiencia fantástica: They’re amazing, and I adore Ms. Connie & Lacy! Also the repair guys are wonderful and prompt. I wouldn’t want to rent in downtown from anyone else.
Our hard working staff appreciates your kind words.
Experiencia fantástica: My experience with Rex Property was incredibly positive. Connie and Lacy were always professional and friendly when I interacted with them during the 14 months that I lived in one of their properties. Maintenance requests were immediately prioritized and remedied. There was even a time that I was out of town and it appeared as though my window had been broken. Lacy sent someone in to the apartment to make sure everything was okay. Finally, after realizing that my air conditioning was not working properly, Lacy went above and beyond to have a window unit put in place until HVAC could repair my air conditioning. I truly appreciated the professional, caring experiences I had.
We appreciate the kind words.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give a negative 10 rating I would! They are horrible as property managers! Sent in 3 request in 24 hours along with a phone message for emergency, due to refrigerator which died. Lost $200+ in groceries. No calls. No response. I guess an emergency has to happen when it is convenient for them, not the tenant. Worst customer service ever!!!! Unbelievable.
No contact number was left on our emergency maintenance voicemail. Glad we were able to put in a temporary fridge on Monday following your Friday night outage.
Experiencia fantástica: Rex has been absolutely amazing! Connie has always been respectful and unbelievably attentive.
Thank you, Daniel!
Experiencia negativa: Unnecessarily rude. Do not go here expecting anything but being told you are not worth their time.
Our team always strives for the highest level of professionalism. We regret you had an unpleasant experience at our office today and will review that with our staff. We hope you are able to find an apartment that meets your needs soon.
Experiencia positiva: It was ok. No pressure
We wish you all at best.
Experiencia negativa: I initially applied for a house with rex on 12/17. I spoke with Lacey on the same day I applied in regards to the requirements, we also set up the viewing. The day of the viewing 12/20 came and I was going to be a few minutes late. I called the company and got no answer. I then got a call from Connie and I advised I was on the way. The viewing was quick. As I entered Connie greeted me and asked did I know the requirements for the property. About 3 times within 2 minutes. I advised yes. While viewing I stated it would be nice to walk places nearby. She asked me how do I get to work I advised I wfh. She questioned the company and I also advised of which company and added that I had just resigned from one and started another. Connie stated she would need to check with her manager on that. She did not state why. I got a email advising to apply the next day even though I already did. I replied advising for Connie to let me know if any more info was needed in regards to the job. When Leaving property she advised she would run my application the same day. I never heard anything back after calling a few times the same week on Thursday and Friday I do understand it being the holiday season things being busy. I did also leave a message. In response to my voicemail this was the response from Connie 12/27. I was so confused and upset. I called and advised we never spoke about credit. I summarize every detail of our 7 min convo. She was perplexed as to why she would tell me she needed to speak to her manager. I told her I felt the same and uncomfortable. She apologized. The experience was a bit unprofessional and cofusing once it got to Connie why BECAUSE SHE NEVER RAN THE APPLICATION and didn’t seem interested in running it from the viewing. She refunded my application fee and told me best wishes.unprofessional and deceptive. I really hope I can have a better experience with someone else in the near future.
Our staff erred in not running your application more promptly. We apologize for our mistake. We hope you give us another try in the future. Wishing you all the best.
Experiencia fantástica: We moved our business into a Rex Property in 2020 and the experience was great. The staff was responsive and helpful. I would use them again for commercial property if the need came up.
Thank you for the kind words!
Experiencia negativa: The person I worked with was not upfront and honest. I wouldn’t do business with this company if I were you, but if you do, be careful (they will take your money).
Rachel, we require a deposit to remove your selected apartment from the market and hold it for you. Per the rental application you signed, "AFTER 24-HOURS holding deposits are non-refundable." We wish you the best.
Experiencia negativa: Summary of Review: Rex Properties’ units are nice. Rex’s customer service is surprisingly terrible for the quality of their units. I recommend you rent elsewhere if you are considering renting, and I recommend you do not entrust your property investment with Rex Properties if you are considering Rex Properties for managing your property—they will take 1 – 3 months to address any issues on your property which could cost you significant financial losses. Additionally, the reviews regarding Rex’s phone reliability are true from my experience as well. Expanded Review: I leased with Rex Properties in JB Whites building Unit 201. Rex Properties will not address maintenance requests in a quick and efficient manner (see screenshots). Upon move in, I put in a maintenance request on 05/11/20 for a variety of broken issues. It took Rex Properties 1.5 months just to come out to the unit (above their office), and over 3 months to fix all issues. Additionally, prior to move out on June 1st, I submitted a work order for a cabinet door that was falling off on 06/24/21. Rex did not come out to fix it until June 07 – 10. What is more, Rex tried to charge me for it until they realized (unprofessionally), that there was, in fact, a work order in for it. In regard to customer service, Rex should stick to operations that require little customer interaction in my opinion. Hidden in Rex Properties lease is a clause that states that if you do not provide a 60-day move out notice before the end of your lease, Rex Properties will automatically renew your lease for another year. Moreover, Rex will not notify you via any form of communication that you must inform them of your plans. I will acknowledge that I failed to read that clause in the lease—however, I expected a notification from Rex Properties like that of well structured Property Management groups. As I planned to move to Atlanta on May 1st (the original end date for my lease), I went down to the office to ask some questions in early April. Rex Properties’ staff, who you won’t enjoy dealing with, told me that since I did not provide a 60-day notice, they automatically renewed my lease and that I would be responsible for a $500 lease break fee, 2-months rent, and a two months rent penalty payment. These expenses combined totaled to almost $4,360 on a lease that I had not even begun, and a lease that was automatically renewed for me by Rex without notification. When I reached out to Paul King, his customer service was just as poor as his staff’s. He provided me with a contingent offer—he would waive one of the one month penalty payments if he can lease out my unit before July 1st (the end of my 60-day notice). I accepted the offer then because I feared that the offer would be rescinded if I pressed the matter. Additionally, Paul acknowledged that he should be offering a 60-day notice reminder, but his property management software lacked the capability to do so. Paul’s solution? Include a reminder on a newsletter that is not easily accessible (if there at all) somewhere on some platform that he does not even mention. See screen shots for poor customer service and acknowledgment). I believe that Paul, having loss no income as Rex was able to lease the unit before I moved out, could have provided a better outcome but chose profit built upon his own poor customer service and my own failure. Rex Properties and Paul have good apartments. However, I believe Paul should stick to renovating buildings and limit customer interactions. They surely disappoint in this regard. Paul, when you read this, I welcome constructive dialogue rather than the confrontational responses you provide in your emails and comments. I hope that you take this opportunity to improve your business and your customer service. I believe you have been in business far too long to act this. Strong business owners turn negative experiences into positive opportunities. -Kind Regards, Landon/Hoss Edit: In his/their response, Paul acknowledges this is common practice from his company. Do better, Paul, you should know by now.
Good to see you enjoyed your rental unit.
We understand it can be upsetting to miss the notice requirement date cited by your lease. The notice requirement can be found in bold print on page one of the lease.
We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent properties!!!
Thank you for the kind words.
Experiencia negativa: I tried calling in numerous times and never got hold of anyone. I wound up going elsewhere
We regret you were unable to reach us by phone but glad you found a new place you like. Usually, we are quick to answer the phone during business hours and can always be reached by way of our website contact-us links. Prospective tenants are encouraged to enter guest cards through our website indicating their interests which we respond to no later than the next business day.
Experiencia negativa: I stayed at 309 3rd St, Unit B in Augusta, Georgia. This was a home built in the early 1900 that was converted into a duplex. At first it seemed like an amazing deal at just under 800 dollars to live close to downtown in a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment, but a couple of months after moving in I found that it was actually a trap. My fiance and I had moved in during spring where temperatures were mild. But once we got into the summer we realized that the home had a lot of issues. Here are some of the issues I had with the apartment and with Rex: 1. The AC unit for the building was over 30 years old and was unable to keep the place under 78 degrees. On hotter days (over 100°) we could not keep the temperature below 80 degrees. Even if we had the thermostat set to 75 it was not strong enough to get below that temperature. Because of this our AC unit continually ran which caused our power bills for consecutive months to be over $250. When complaining to Rex properties, their first solution was to install a window unit. It wasn't until I complained more through multiple emails that they finally replaced the unit. When AC repairman came to install the new unit (since it was a duplex half of the unit was in the attic and the other half was outside) they went to go into the attic and saw that there was absolutely no insulation between the outside and inside of the house. When shining a flashlight into the attic you could see the wooden boards and in between the gaps of the wooden board you could see the shingles. this caused heat to get trapped in the attic which then would heat the air in the AC unit and make it impossible for us to get the temperature to where we needed it. Granted the new AC did help but on hot days we would still have to set the thermostat to around 78 degrees just to keep our power bill under $200. Remind you this is a less than 800 ft² livable space apartment. 2. There was a leak in the roof that was causing water to stain the ceiling and to the point where it was running down the wall over the fireplace. I put in a work order to have it come looked at and Rex property said that they would send roof repair men out. Those men never came out they never followed up and they closed the ticket. 3. Staffing changes. When I initially moved in I was working with a staff member to get me set up. when it came time for us to move out we did request if we could possibly do a month-to-month due to the Corona virus and due to my fiance's work. They were very flexible and they did allow us an extension on our lease of 3 months. In which in multiple email exchanges I said I would like to have our lease extended for just that amount of time until we're able to move out. Again, everything was fine, but when it did come time for me to move out and I reached out to Rex, they told me I had not give them my intention of leaving. It took multiple emails back and forth where I had evidence and emails exchanged with their staff that I would be moving out at a certain time. Unfortunately when I brought up the specific staff member their response was that they are no longer with us. I explained how that was not my issue but I was not going to be living there anymore as I had discussed with their previous staff member. 4. Professionalism. Upon my moving out in July 2020 the staff that I worked with was one of the most unprofessional staff. Whenever I would call about an issue pertaining to my moving out, the female answering the call was immediately defensive and raised her voice at me. When I moved out they took my address to send my deposit check. I did not receive it for 4 weeks. When I went to go get it they had the address wrong and my name wrong. So I had to get them to write me a new check. To summarize, do your research and if possible look for somewhere else to rent through.
We regret you had some disappointments with your experience and will work to make improvements in those areas. Glad to know you liked your rental enough to ask for a 3-month lease extension. We wish you all the best going forward.
Experiencia negativa: I previously gave Rex a 5 star review 3 years ago because they asked us to. I have lived in the same apartment for going on 5 years and have never been late on a payment. My husband and I are well educated and respectful people who care for this rented apartment well. We have had our fair share of maintenance issues in the time we have rented, however, it is an old home and we love the charm. I am, however, done being sweet. It is currently July in Augusta with highs in the upper 90s and we have no AC. The unit broke last Wednesday night and it is currently Friday evening. Upon notifying Rex on Wednesday night, we were told that they could not get anyone out to look at the unit until Monday. This is utterly ridiculous. Augusta, Ga has countless AC technicians. We have gone 8 days without AC. Rex gave us 2 window units, however, in a 1500 square foot upstairs apartment with limited if any insulation, this does little. It is currently just under 85 degrees in the hallway right outside the rooms with the 2 window units. This is unacceptable. We have been offered no rent payment forgiveness or discount. If you are reading this, please consider finding another landlord.
Peak cooling season HVAC repairs are challenging as all technicians & supply houses are overloaded. Our policy is to immediately install window units until we can get the the staff and parts on-site for needed repairs. Window units were installed promptly. A needed part was much delayed in the international supply chain, but did eventually arrive and the repair was completed as soon as it could be. We appreciate your years as a tenant.
Experiencia fantástica: I've rented through Rex for 11 months and it's been a wonderful experience. The property is maintained regularly, and if any issues arise they are fixed promptly. I've found communication to be quick and easy, both using the online portal and via email. Alexis Milton is particularly great and a complete joy to work with. I also love how pet friendly Rex is by making the pet deposit so reasonable.
Thank you for your kind words!
Experiencia fantástica: HIGHLY recommend Rex properties! Their response time was amazing and Abigail and Lex were a God send! They were extremely helpful and the sweetest ladies.
We appreciate the recommendation!
Experiencia negativa: Its absolutely impossible to call and get ahold of anyone. Then they call you or email you back 2 weeks later like nothing happened. Just want your money then after that have fun getting ahold of anyone. Also the contractors/painters that they use for their properties have no idea what they're doing, examples are leaving blue painters tape on the ceiling and painting over it. Leaving holes in the walls, huge holes/openings in the windows. Awful at caulking. The list goes on. The only bright side was their pet deposit is cheap and no monthly pet rent.
We were happy to assist in your securing a new rental. Your email request came in on 9/19 and responded to on 9/24, 3-days plus a weekend.
One work order was submitted during your rental, on 4/24/19, completed on 4/29/19. Our tenant portal is open 24/7/365. We wish you had let us know of your concerns so we could have addressed them.
We wish you all the best.
Experiencia negativa: The Properties look beautiful but no one answers the phone to request information or to view...still waiting on return call.....There is no one to take over if staff is out? This is an update to this review because I am blocked from a reply. I did not receive any call back for lea tsinghey said, only a call with who to email and that she could not help me and that there would be no one I could call...The email provided no telephone contact info, 2nd day still waiting...
Thank you for noting our beautiful properties. We return all call requests daily, except holidays & weekends. Tenants have access to our emergency maintenance service 24/7.
You can reach us anytime by emailing [email protected] or make a property specific info request right on our website, rexgroup.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
Experiencia fantástica: I lived in a Rex property in downtown Augusta, GA for 11 months in 2018. The rental process was quick and smooth - at every turn, the personnel I dealt with were professional and friendly. There were a few maintenance emergencies during my time in the apartment and their emergency maintenance personnel were quick to respond and resolve the issues. I particularly enjoyed working with Alexis Milton, who always replied quickly to my emails and was always pleasant to work with. This company was particularly understanding when I had to break the lease a few months early due to my military orders. Overall, I found Rex Properties to be a great company to rent from - strongly recommend their services.
We appreciate your kind words.
Experiencia fantástica: I have reached out and called their phone number four times about one of their listings, and I have left two voicemails with no return. I do not know how else to contact this company. :( Update: A very helpful woman reached out to me about fifteen minutes later!
Glad we were able to connect and assist you with this matter.
Experiencia negativa: TL:DR - Don't spend your money with this company. They put money first over customer care. Once they get their lease and they don't care about you and you are on your own. Long Version - I recently moved from a neighboring state to Augusta to lease one of the properties they managed. The initial walk-through went well and I signed the lease in route because I was preparing for a quick move and start of my new job. I sign the lease and pick up the keys from the office and no one from Rex comes with me for the pre move-in walk-through. They just hand me the keys, red flag, I open the door and I see water dripping from the ceiling and plaster on the ground along with mesh tape peeling from the ceiling. The apartment is mildew and musty. I walk through the apartment and I see dirty bathrooms that haven't been washed and more evidence that Rex did not even do a pre cleaning off the property before bringing me in. I also see that the toilet when flushed leaks from the back. Continuing my inspection the ceiling in the back of the apartment is leaking water from a light onto the washer and dryer combo. I submit a maintenance ticket and I get no response, so I call the emergency maintenance contact number for Rex Property & Land, it goes straight to voicemail. I leave a message and never get a response from that number. I did happen to see the actual owner of the apartment that was contracting Rex, he comes in and diagnoses that the issue that is causing the leak in the entry is due to an A/C failing. He tells me he also is calling Rex, this is at 4 oclock in the afternoon, but no response from any Rex representative for the rest of the day. The next day I receive no contact from Rex regarding fixing the issue. It isnt until I go to Rex's office and request to speak to someone about terminating the lease because of these issues that I finally hear about a technician being sent out. That should really tell you all you need to know about Rex Property and Land. They do not care about providing a good home for a person after that lease is signed. I spent 1 night in a Rex Property and I'm paying the full penalty for early lease termination, with no regret. Stay away from this company and any property they manage. If I was willing to pay the penalty of early lease termination after 1 night in their property, that should let you know how bad it is. Buyer Beware.
David, we regret you were not satisfied with this apartment. However, the time line you posted does not agree with our electronic records. Your work order request for a leak repair was submitted at 4:05 pm on 9/27/2018. It was not marked urgent and was after our last daily work order check. Additionally, there is no record of an incoming call on our emergency line the night of 9/27.
We noted the work order first thing in the morning of the next day and the leak was repaired with clean-up that day - within 24-hours of your request. You chose to decline our offer of rent compensation for any inconvenience.
We pride ourselves on being tenant-driven and responsive in resolving issues.
Tenant move-ins are explained prior to the day of first occupancy and include a move-in inspection form for any additional tenant concerns.
We wish our former tenant all the best.
Experiencia negativa: I gave a deposit and then found out they could not do a six month lease on the apartment I was interested in. I requested a refund and was told that as soon as my check cleared (which was on 7/18/18) they would refund my deposit. I had to call repeatedly and was told repeatedly that it had been mailed out which was not true. The date on the check was 7/31/18 and I did not receive it until 8/4/18. In response to your response below: Maybe some checks take 7 days to clear, but mine was an online transaction and cleared immediately. And it doesn't explain why you repeatedly told me the check was in the mail when it was not! The first time you told me the check had already been mailed was on 7/23. That was not true.
Laura, we have had checks returned to us for “funds not available” as far out as 7 days after deposit. To protect ourselves and our landlords we cannot send out a refund until 10-days after after the same funds have been deposited. Allowing for weekends and transit times we returned your deposit promptly. We regret that everyone must wait a bit on refunds because of a few bad actors. We hope you will reconsider this rating.
Experiencia negativa: The properties are immaculate, with a few quirks here and there. My apartment had a bunch of abandoned property left in front of its entrance (somehow it still looked nice). One huge issue I had was that I was billed and evicted during months that I did not reside within one of their properties, AFTER giving notice. I informed the property manager that my military obligations would not allow me to continue to stay in the property and two months after I had already moved and was assigned to a nearby location, I found out I was evicted while requesting an apartment from them. I spent 1.5 years as a responsible and considerate tenant, but was repaid with nothing but deception and denial. They didn’t even notify me of the “eviction” until it was too late to do anything. Rex Property’s management is not nearly as beautiful as their rentals. READ YOUR LEASE AND STATE EVERYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE IN THE MOST BASIC OF WAYS! Great prices and locations, but be very careful when signing your lease and moving. They are sharks.
We regret that you were not satisfied with our service. We did not receive military orders from you. We are open to discussing further with you if you would like. Please call us at 706.722.4962.
Experiencia positiva: Great customer service and prompt with repairing any maintenance issues!
Thank you for your kind comments. I see that we still have room for improvement - we'd like your help in making that happen. We would contact you personally, but we do not show you in our tenant database. Please call me at 706.723.9572 so we can learn how to make your experience with Rex even better.

Experiencia fantástica: Rex has been managing our property for over 1 year and a half. I can honestly say that working with them has been a pleasure. They are really quick to respond to tenants issues. They market our properties very well and keep them occupied. There is no one else that we would work with in the CSRA!
Most appreciated!

Most appreciated!
Experiencia positiva: nice
Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: I have dealt with Rex for some twenty years and have always been pleased with their services. They have managed a rental property for me, sold a house for my wife and I, and rented an apartment to my daughter. They are professional in everything they do and I highly recommend them.
We truly appreciate your business!
Experiencia negativa: I have mixed feelings about Rex Group. They have managed my rental in Ga for 3 years. They get really good rentors in, but for every little thing that needs to be fixed they bill me exorbitant figures. I would say if you are the rentor, go with Rex Group… they will take good care of you. If you are the property owner, don't count on getting your full share every month.
Thank you for sharing this — and for three years working together. We understand repair costs can be frustrating, especially when they add up. In this case, several issues we uncovered had been concealed behind flooring and other finishes from before our management began, which meant repairs were often more involved than they first appeared. We always aim to flag and explain costs clearly before proceeding, and we're glad to revisit how we can communicate that more proactively with owners.
We're glad to hear the property stayed well-rented — that's something we take real pride in.
Experiencia negativa: The worst apartment I have ever rented. They never repaired anything in the apartment even once, no insulation on any windows or front door, dirty when I moved in, left it cleaner than I found it before moving out and they still charged me! Also, if you're in the military, please stay away from these apartments. Even though they claim they won't have an issue and return your deposit, nope... they won't. Even if you show them orders stating you need to PCS ASAP, Rex properties doesn't care. They charged me over a month of rent even though I was long gone. Shame on you, Rex Properties. Very great service to those who serve this country and put their lives and families on hold. I wish I could rate this place lower than a one star. So glad to be gone from these apartments.
Mr. Kamilichu was charged only for the 30-days from which he provided his written move-out notice.
Our records indicate repairs requested during Mr. Kamilchu's tenancy were completed.
We greatly appreciate the dozens of happy and satisfied military tenants we've had, and continue to house.
Experiencia fantástica: Great! Go Rex!
Thank you!
