It is a hard and important decision, and REIS and Cadee Shaw specifically as our property manager brought us through very challenging times with residents and legal issues. The advice was always legally strong and the relationship with vendors is very good. Sometimes you need that strong, unbiased third party to move forward. And the daily activities and ongoing actions from the Property Manager are always handled timely.

Experiencia positiva: I appreciate that you do the board meeting minutes in a concise way . Also, you always have a positive outlook. Some things need to be fixed, like the downspouts that are all rusty and have holes in them. The mailboxes in the A-B entrance are almost all open because they have no keys. I think we should be more careful about who buys units here. We should have a rule that only a certain number of units should be rented. Most renters come and go, so they generally don't care about they way the entrances look; hence, no one wants to buy and live in a place that looks like that.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t buy where they run HOA. Total joke and ships everything to lawyers so you have to pay 1000 extra. Someone is getting kick backs. Never helped with anything I’ve called them about in the last 15 years. They totally suck.

Experiencia negativa: I would give this management company zero stars if I could. The worst. I've lived in a condo for 26 years. I've seen plenty of management companies. This one just takes your money but ignores phone calls, emails, and even ignores people during the board zoom meetings. They refuse to even acknowledge things that need to be fixed, let alone fix them. My top floor unit ceiling has water damage, mold, and bowing.

Experiencia negativa: This company will not respond to residents. We currently to have a major ongoing issue with the village and the board and this company will not respond to homeowners. Charles is the owner and he has been emailed multiple times by many homeowners and refuses to answer the phone or any emails. This is going on for months now. I’ve been asking for information for over two months and not even a single reply from him. In our last meeting he was less than understanding to homeowner concerns. We have serious issues at the property with roofs and crawl spaces that the village had to get involved. Homeowners deserve to have answers since we own these units and pay our dues!

Experiencia negativa: One star is more than REIS deserves at this point. We recently had a condo real estate transaction and REIS is the management company that was hired by the condo board. Charles Freitag, the owner of this company, was extremely irresponsible and negligent responding to our attorney's requests. Apparently, he is the only individual at REIS that was able to complete required documentation for the closing. We were informed he was out of town for almost two weeks, pushing back the closing date multiple times. As a former business owner myself, I always had to have a back up if I was out of town. This ensures customer satisfaction which in turn builds trust with your business. Our attorney began contacting REIS the day after the contract was signed. There was no response. Both the buyer and seller's attorneys as well as the lender for the buyer, and the real estate agents worked diligently to complete the transaction. Nothing could be completed until Charles completed the necessary documentation appropriately. One simple document was not completed correctly. We even contacted the condo board to see if there was something the President of the Board could to to expedite the closure, without success. The sale of this unit had multiple delays due solely to Charles' negligence. In addition to the frustration felt by the seller and buyer, who was ready to walk away from the sale, the multiple delays and inability to have another employee complete simple paperwork, cost both the buyer and seller thousands of dollars, in additional fees. We spent at least $3000 more to close on this unit strictly due to his negligence. The required document requested from the lender was a standard inquiry required by lenders. We attempted every avenue to get this property closed in a timely manner, without success. It is a shame that the owner of a management company is unable to delegate someone in the office to assist with responsibilities when he is out of town. I know that this is a multigenerational company, and it is disheartening that Charles is unable to conduct business honoring his families name.

Experiencia negativa: I unfortunately couldn’t give 0 stars but since living where I do I hands downs would. This management company didn’t care about the residents, or owners of our community. If you have an HOA and the manager is Candee I’d run away. Her intention is to complain about emails, phone calls, and honestly her job to everyone of the community. She will do her best to run everyone dry of their money for as long as she can help REIS do this.

Experiencia negativa: What a terrible company. Not sure how they are even in business and why anyone hires them to manage any of their properties. They don’t respond to issues in any what of a timely manner, sometimes not at all. Their lack of action or response to issues they are responsible for force homeowner to do the repairs themselves to avoid further damage and then when you try to get reimbursement no one responds to calls or emails. Who are these property managers accountable to? I’m glad my HOA is firing them. Please think twice or tell your HOA to hire someone else.

Experiencia negativa: If I was capable of giving negative stars I will. I live on the 3rd floor with nothing above me except the roof. I began to have a leak In my living room to the point that thr drywall for the ceilings is bowing as if it will fall in at anytime. After further inspection there is an 2 foot gash In my daughters room with water marks on both sides. You could almost pass out from the mold and mildew. They "fixed " the roof to get me through the winter then decided my ceiling damages from their common element being the roof is nit my problem. Ha ha I don't know how that works but the new roofers did not correct the mold and shot 3 new holes in the one ceiling that didn't have damage.

Experiencia negativa: I will not give them one star! I live in my Condo since 2011. Love my Place! But because of their skilled, knowledgeable....staff, I would love to move some Place else. Terrible parking rules. One big question: who came up with those rules?! My 2023 was the worst year ever. Was there any investigation about broken glass on parking spots, nails in our tires? And, it looked like all residents from other Condominium associations, complaining about the same problems. To have an excuse, that rules approved by the Board of directors, who is made up of unit owners, is not genuine! Your company doesn't have same Board members, in all real estates you managing?! By the way. Found broken glass again today on the main path for cars, to enter ,right on our patfh.This is crime. 06/18/24

Experiencia negativa: 1 star is generous. Terrible experience all around with this company. Receptionist was rude, couldn’t care less about what or who I was calling for. Took WEEKS to receive communication back from our contact. Have heard terrible things from current tenants, as well. Will be sure to steer clear of this property management company and would suggest the same for others.

Experiencia negativa: Just reached out to this agency to ask for some information regarding 3 properties listed by an agent named Nancy Freitag. As soon as she answered the phone, she seemed very “cold” and bothered. Was not willing to speak to me after I explained I was calling for my nephew(who’s English isn’t very good) and my niece, who’s on vacation and isn’t able to speak to her. She was extremely rude and didn’t want to help...didn’t even ask for my nephews phone number or if he was available to speak to her(he was sitting right next to me. Apparently, Nancy is in the wrong line of work if she treats all of her potential clients this way. Very bad for this business as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Hello, my mame is Michael this is my amazing story with this company. While me and my family were moving in to a house in Illinois, we came across this company! This is by far the best of the best. They treat me amazing and with care. I have them a call and they offered listings. I found this beautiful house thanks to them. Once I booked them I had a slight problem with the roof. It was leaking a bit. However, this service came to my rescue! Their crew helped me fix it! They were so kind hearted and their work was efficient. I hope for the best with them! You should choose this service. It is unique!

Edited* If the manager was half as quick to fix our problems rather then responding to online reviews we would probably be happy customers.

I started with one of the big name management companies but found that they nickle and dimed me on everything, didn't keep my properties up and failed to keep them rented. It was a disaster. They taught me to be a better shopper when seeking a management company. During my search, I came across Real Estate Investment Service. Matt has been reliable, professional and a great business partner. He understands what needs to be done and doesn't nickle and dime you. I trust his judgement and most of all he keeps my units rented. He is accessible and proactive. My only wish i I would have found him sooner. I'm sure others will say the same.
