We needed a home that could accommodate my mother after my father, a veteran, passed away. The relocation to our city/state had to offer a safe and short commute to us, and it involved 3 co-buyers. Our last agent was unprofessional so we used the Zillow feature to connect us with someone and Graham Gentry was assigned. Upon hearing about my mother’s circumstances, his first response was to offer his condolences and thank my father for his service. He was comfortable with our long list of potential homes and quickly learned our preferences. He shared best strategies of house hunting including the number of homes to see in a day, additional costs to be aware of such as HOA fees, and neighborhoods most welcome to older adults. To create a strong list, he tracked the distance from my home so we knew the commute time and best routes. During the showing phase, I focused on layout and features, while Graham focused on structural issues and anticipated repairs that would be obstacles for an aging parent. We worked very much like a team. Even when our endurance was tested with a couple of start/stop moments in the offer making phase. Graham’s dedication, respect for all parties, and communication style was always consistent. He was clear and patient in educating us, compassionate and respectful of my mother’s wishes, and genuinely funny and kind. These strengths were also observed in his interactions with inspectors, loan officers, title companies, and my mother’s selling agent in her state. When working with us directly, all of these experts spoke very highly of Graham. Given that there were 3 co-buyers, Graham ensured a strong and genuine connection with each of us. At the tail end of home buying, there was a support staff person who was disrespectful to my mother. Graham immediately pulled the team of experts together to resolve the issue. And with the same level of compassion, addressed this experience first before returning us to the final steps of closing. Unprompted, Graham checked on the home during an ice storm and reported back to us. Post-closing, he has been a welcome part of the celebration. Home buying is stressful and Graham made it simple.
