Experiencia fantástica: Nice subdivision with well maintained homes and common areas. Nice facilities including a general store, swimming pools, fitness room, boat and RV storage, outdoor movie screen, bike paths and sidewalks throughout the upscale community, dedicated pet area, and a new neighborhood restaurant area along with regularly available food trucks within the community common area. Each subdivision within the large community has easily accessible stocked fish ponds for the residents to enjoy.

Experiencia negativa: Hammock Bay is a terrible place to live. The HOA is crazy. The realtors sell nothing but lies and whackadoo BS. Everything about HB is terribly fake and they are trying to control our reviews? HAHA!

Experiencia negativa: The staff here is unhelpful. They only do what suits them. Absolute CAM services/HOA are crooks. No one here cares about the residents. It is all about the $$$, straight up. Don't fall for the pretty (fake) package. That is all it is, nothing more. EDIT: I have the top rated/liked review. Not removing it. Very truly, not yours... ;)

Experiencia fantástica: Great community for families with small children, wonderful amenities and close to the Freeport Recreational Center. The place to be, if you love Halloween or love Christmas decorations. Plenty of family events, far away from tourists and seasonal residents. It is an HOA community, so you need to follow the rules, they won't let you trash your place and hurt the appraisal of your neighbors' houses.

Experiencia fantástica: We purchased a home in Hammock Bay and will be moving in soon. First, the entire place is fantastic. Second, Anne and Gina could not have performed better as our real estate agents. We were purchasing from out of state, sight unseen, so we really depended on them to handle a lot of things for us, give us great advice, and above all - be open and honest!! I cannot recommend Anne or Gina highly enough, they are by far the nicest and most honest real estate agents I have ever used. Keep it up, Ladies! If I could give a higher rating than 5 Stars for Anne and Gina, I would!!

Experiencia fantástica: I lived here for 3 years and moved away. I have missed it ever since and plan to move back in the near future! Hammock Bay was the best place I have ever lived! It is just so relaxing and serene to drive through on your way home. The amenities are so awesome!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing fun and beauty, even the drive is beautiful! The pools are great, although I would love to see the addition of a hot tub! There is so much to do in the community, from bike trails fishing and many other sports. Hammock Bay is a short drive from anywhere worth visiting, such as the award winning beaches and amazing restaurants across the bay.

Experiencia positiva: Theres enough serenity but not enough stores for someone from the city who wants a taste of a quite area... The grounds are amazing , which is a plus... Down side: Freeport is in the middle of no where.. Check with your cell phone provider before making a decision... Verizon would be your best bet for this area, AT&T gets a somewhat good connection. But it all falls on the property location and design of your abode that would determine if you need to bail on your current provider or not. This was in Development January 2008 (When My photos were taken).

Experiencia fantástica: For anyone looking to live in Walton county or close to the beach but not on the beach Hammock Bay is a great family oriented community. Has several subdivision and continues to grow. Every home is beautiful and living there you gain access to pool,gym etc...anyone looking to live here should check there

Experiencia negativa: My main complaint centers around Compass which is the company that runs the HOA for Hammock Bay. These people are absolute Nazi's about everything. Two examples. 1) My neighbors grass died because her irrigation system went out. She showed me the more than dozen work orders she had put in for it out of her frustration. After a dozen work orders, her irrigation system was not fixed. Enter Compass and them sending warning after warning about the dead grass even after my neighbor explained to them what was going on. The warnings kept coming until finally they sent her a threat, fix the grass or else. Her and I both were stunned by this as my neighbor was doing EXACTLY AS SHE WAS SUPPOSED to do and put in work orders on the broken irrigation. Compass didn't care no did they try to understand. 2) The second incident was with me. My wife was out of town for 3 weeks for business and I work 12 hour days before getting home. Trash runs early Monday morning after I had already left for work. Well Compass undoubtedly drives around midday on Monday to see whose trash cans are still at the road. They then send you a warning in the mail a week later about it. HOW THE **** do I get my trashcan from the road when I am AT WORK ALL DAY? Some people like me actually work unlike those people at Compass who just drive around with superhuman expectations of everyone. Had I known what I know now about the HOA in this place, I would have told them to go **** themselves. Hammock Bay looks nice to the eye but Compass gives you zero room to breath. The builders of Hammock Bay should be run out of business for allowing Compass to run the HOA. Save yourself A LOT of stress and headaches and don't buy in Hammock Bay. That is unless you sit on your front porch waiting for the trash men to come empty your can and you have a backup irrigation system for the crap ones they install. I almost refereed Compass to the Better Business Bureau over the trashcan as that is inexcusable and absolutely ridiculous. I could understand if I left it there for days but I got it Monday night when I came home. I wasn't even given 12 hours to get it from the road on a WORKDAY. I may yet refer them to the BBB.
