Huntington by the Sea

Negative experience: Sure this park has its perks of being close to the beach but just for anyone considering moving here you should really know what you are getting yourself into. Low income never heard of it, the new owners and corporate greed has managed to push most fixed income owners out with space rent increases and ridiculous demands. It’s just a parking lot with mobile homes, no yards, no grass no safe place to walk. If you are going to go for a walk make sure to watch out for speeding cars. Pee and poop stains down every street. Rent increase yearly with no cap on how high they will raise it. Water is shut off constantly with last minute notice to the shut off. Police in here almost daily and an actual barricade situation where swat was called in. The office staff is not friendly and unwilling to be helpful. Also the tow truck situation, even if you park your car out front just to unload groceries they will tow you. You also can’t park in guest. Not to mention the stray cats that pee and poop on everything including homes. If you live close to the front gate make sure to lock up your belongings. And if you want to sell your home you have to get approval by the park first, only to be given a list of demands for repairs that are unobtainable for most to complete. Their plan for this is they want you to sell the home to the park for mere Pennie's so they can slap it back together and sell it themselves for a huge profit. Just take a look at the first five homes when you drive into the park that are for sale, not to mention countless others. This place used to be great.

Positive experience: That was great and you will probably see the reviews that are positive are from years ago when the old owners had it. Once this big corporation got a hold of it they just jacked up all the rates and it's really expensive for what it is now. Plus your living right next to a cancer-causing power plant and nasty Santa Ana River. All of the negatives of living near the beach like rust, sand, criminals and the extremely loud traffic from PCH without without the benefits. Crossing PCH to go to the beach is a long haul with you all your stuff and very dangerous most of the time.

Negative experience: as the other review states . Used to be an amazing place to live but the new management has done nothing but raise the rent and take out the things we used to enjoy. there used to be a game room for the kids to enjoy well us adults worked out in the gym they decided they needed a third office?? after over 30 years of having that room. My 17 year old daughter brought four friends to the pool and the lady manger asked them where they lived and told them to go home because “no more then two guest” (if you’re reading this never speak to my kids like that again) even though there was no one else at the pool at the time. they raise our rent almost every month even as a owner even though the quality of the neighborhood has only gotten worse. They do not seem kid friendly so if you are looking for a family neighborhood this is not the one for you.

Negative experience: Sad to say our beloved community has fallen ever since new owners purchase d the property.As a owner I can speak from 16 years of living here the good times are gone.

Positive experience: It's a quiet community with cute homes ten minutes walking from the beach. The gym completely sucks though. All the equipment got rusty, the cables are sticky, it's dirty, and I think dumbbell pairs 35-50 are missing along with a 25 plate. There's a bench with a 7ft olympic but it's only for bench. There's an awkward way my short self can use it for squatting, but it's sketchy and can mess you up. The pool is the best it's ever been as long as they keep it clean.

Negative experience: The units don't have yards. The common areas are well kept but knowing that you never actually own your mobile yet you're paying 30k a year in lot fees, plus mortgage and taxes, or mobile rent. Basically an expensive proposition for near beach living.
