Knowledgeable about the industry. At one point with limited homes in the market he offered to look at ones that were recently off the market. During the purchase he was great as was the support staff at the agency in communicating with my attorney at documentation. Negative experience: I have sold and bought many homes in my life. I did not have a good experience with my new and inexperienced real estate agent from Casella. And that was a first in any of my real estate transactions over a life time. I had two months of stress with the agent. He did not know many of the basics. He had car salesmen tactics he employed with me to strong arm me. He lied about his experience and facts about properties, not sure why. He bad mouthed me with the agent with whom I was under contract with. I ended up firing him and only 3 days after I fired him, my buyer backed out. That came on the heels of them agreeing to the inspection negotiations and proclaiming they were „happy“ with the solution I had proposed on Monday. Then Wednesday they pulled out. It left me wondering…..I took my house off the market. I may relist in the spring but not with Casella again.

Fantastic experience: Due to an employment opportunity, my wife and I made the huge move from the Los Angeles area to rural Vermont, a place neither of us had ever been. When we were considering the new job, with a preliminary visit to the area, her prospective employer offered to provide a realtor for us to use. But Leah had already found Liz Casella of Casella Real Estate and had a good feeling about her, so we declined that offer. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. To start, Liz carved out an entire Sunday on short notice to show us prospective properties on that premilitary visit. She was warm, personable and knew the area like the back of her hand. We immediately got the feeling we had a true partner in our mission to find the perfect new home in the area. When she showed us the house we decided we loved and wanted, she sprung into action and worked with us to make an offer that was accepted. Then for the next 6 weeks (or so), we worked as a team, Liz, Leah and I to deal with all types of inspections, air and water tests, septic reviews; you name it. At every turn, Liz knew exactly what to do and who to call. She was always available to answer questions and give advice. Emails were responded to immediately; if she didn't pick up her phone (which she almost always did) she would text back to say when she could talk later in the same day. Essentially, she was right there with us the through the whole process. We have now been in our new home for almost two weeks. We reflect on the fact that we simply couldn't have done it without Liz. She not only has the expertise and experience, she worked with a true personal stake in getting us in our new home. As I said, we were a team.
