Fantastic experience: Devin and his team were a dream to work with. I reached out to him in 2017, but ended up not being able to afford a home (Bitcoin's volatile, what are you gonna do?). He spent a lot of time with me then finding a home, but when I called him up again in 2019, he gave me just as much time, attention, and guidance – but again I didn't buy a home! Finally in 2021 (what a market) when I was hell bent on buying a place, he saw over 20 places with me, and even gave me a ride to many of them. He explained every step of the process in detail and re-explained, if needed, until I understood. After every house viewing, Devin and I would talk about strategy. Early on, he noted that I had great taste. The issue was that places I loved would often be listed undervalue to incite bidding wars. I had a firm cap as to how much I was willing to pay. Devin urged me not to get discouraged. He gave me some advice, “Look for something that’s nice, but not too nice.” These places would leave me with more money to turn into my dream home. I remember walking into a viewing in Echo Park. He taught me to open my eyes to the possibilities. I could knock down a wall and open up the space. The place was already modern and extremely livable, but there was still room for customization down the line. I now live in this beautiful craftsman with modern fixes, and I’m so excited for it to grow with me. I brought my girlfriend along with me. She has her own set of tastes and desires when it comes to homes and interiors. Devin was great at entertaining her opinions, while never forgetting that I was the sole customer. Buying a home is naturally stress inducing, but Devin is fun and chill. Each viewing was an opportunity to hang with a friend. Good people attract good people. Before the world turned upside down, I made my new year's resolution to "put a bid on a home" in 2020. As a single person on a teacher salary, owning in Los Angeles seemed out of reach. Aaron gently introduced me to the basics of real estate, helping decipher what homes worked in my budget, and just how practical the once impossible process was. We lucked out and found my now home on our second property visit! Again, I think Aaron's acuity to my preferences led him to map out options that weren't just feasible, but perfect matches. Before the pandemic, we were on track to have a 21-day escrow process (insane!). A few obstacles-- ranging from city office closures and a seller stranded out of the country--delayed our process. However, Aaron & his work partner Devin worked tirelessly to see how we could address every hurdle. I was amazed how accessible both guys were to texts, from early morning to late at night. They ALWAYS made time for a phone call, and more critically: problem solved. We were able to close escrow because Aaron and Devin studied the changes to California law amidst COVID. They brought the legal modifications to light for both the seller and lender. Who'd have thought "real estate agent" also translated to "honorary domestic and international legal scholar"? To top an already incredible work ethic, Devin and Aaron helped move me in, wearing masks. They surprised me with cards and gifts sprinkled on the counter when I first opened the door to "my" home. In only a few months, professionalism, diligence, compassion, and genuine care, Devin and Aaron hold to their work, surfaced. Their ethic proved not only a firm conviction to career, but a heartfelt belief to help people nurture the most basic of human needs: creating a home. Fantastic experience: I sold the house that belonged to my mother-in-law and felt fortunate to have Devin McNichol and his teammate, Aaron Bernbach, as our realtors. Their knowledge about the local real estate market allows them to give excellent guidance and advice. They were pleasant to work with; neither are schmoozers and I always felt they were acting with our best interest in mind. I worked far more with Devin, so I will focus my remarks about him. Full disclosure is important to him as is doing the “right thing”. The logistics of the sale were somewhat complicated by geography; part of the time I was in L.A., but for most of the escrow period, I was in another state. The sale went smoothly. Devin was also sensitive to the larger circumstances, that the family was dealing with the death of a close family member. Devin and Aaron were mindful of deadlines and communicated to me the status of the sale at each critical junction and more. They were quick to respond to phone calls, texts and emails and the two worked seamlessly together; this speaks to the good communication between them. While they are somewhat new as realtors, I felt they use that to their advantage. Devin is enthusiastic and doesn’t let his ego get in the way of re-thinking his proposals to get the best outcome for his client or in asking more experienced co-workers for their opinions; the knowledge base becomes much wider than only Devin and Aaron. Devin was open to addressing all my many questions and I’m a person who actually read the fine print of the contract and disclosures. I had a lot of questions. Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with Aaron. My husband and I were purchasing our first home and we were very hopeful for a smooth and successful process. I met Aaron at an open house, and he was very personable, easy-going, and seemed to have a general good sense of the neighborhoods we were interested in. What's better? My friend who lives in the neighborhood recognized Aaron and his partner, Devin, and said they are familiar, friendly, and regular faces in the neighborhood. After a follow up meeting to discuss in detail what we were hoping to find in our house hunt, within a couple of weeks we were in escrow on our dream home. Aaron was very responsive, even managing to set up a private showing during the Super Bowl for the following day (for the house we ultimately purchased).
