Fantastic experience: I cannot reccomend Grace highly enough. From our very first converstation she took the time to actually listen to what I wanted in a home, not just what I thought I should want. That distinction mattered more than I realized going in as she showed the first unit that I found, and acknowledged that there was a better unit that would be more suited. What stood out most was her expertise. Grace has a sharp read on the market and she used that knowledge to negotiate a deal that geniunely exceeded my expectations. She knew exactly when to push, when to hold back and how to advocate for me at every turn. I never felt like we were guessing our way through the process. She steered with real skill. Beyong the market savvy, Grace was endlessly patient, kind and thoughtful. She answered every question (and I had A LOT of them) with warmth and clarity, and she made time even when I knew she was juggling other clients. I always felt like her first priority, which is such a rare thing in this business. Buying a home is stressful but Grace made me feel so supported and genuinely cared for at every step. I'm so grateful she was in my corner and I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.

Negative experience: I used Serene Powers two years ago to lease my apartment, and the experience was good — professional, efficient, and everything you would expect from a premium agency. That positive experience is the reason I came back when I needed help again. Unfortunately, the second time around told a very different story. When my tenant's lease expired and he didn't sign the new lease but continued to occupy my apartment without paying, I reached out to Serene Powers for help relisting the unit and contacting the tenant to arrange viewings — the exact same services they had provided before. What followed was weeks of silence despite multiple follow-ups. When I finally received a response, the explanations were inconsistent — first I was told it was outside their scope, then that they were too busy. Relisting a property is core real estate work, so neither explanation was particularly convincing. I then escalated the matter to the management team with a detailed, respectful email explaining my situation and asking for help. That was over a month ago. I have not received a single response. As an overseas landlord, I depend heavily on my local agent — that is the entire point of hiring one. Serene Powers markets itself as a premium, full-service agency, and when things are going smoothly, they deliver on that promise. But when a situation becomes even slightly complicated, my experience suggests you may find yourself on your own with no communication and no explanation. To be honest I am surprised by the straight five star review. I would encourage prospective clients to consider how an agency handles difficult situations, not just easy ones. A truly premier agency stands by its clients when things get tough — not only when it is convenient. Regrettably, that has not been my experience with Serene Powers.
