Negative experience: We worked with Paula Hinegardner in the sale of our home and she was an absolute nightmare. She was horrible at communication, whenever she would actually communicate, she was condescending, dismissive and cold. Every email would start with “As I’ve repeatedly said before…” or some other lecture type of tone. Zero respect towards us or anyone else working with her. We were selling a home for over 2 million dollars and you would think her professionalism would be better than it was in a transaction of that scale. Unfortunately not. The actual week of our scheduled closing, she traveled out of the country and was almost entirely unreachable, yet left no one else for us to reach in her absence. Obviously, our closing fell through, causing us to lose thousands of dollars in our interest rate lock expiring, and she couldn’t care less. She was inept at getting anything done, or politely informing us of anything going on in the process, and eventually when our closing finally happened, it was in no part thanks to anything she did. She was truly the worst part of our entire selling and buying experience and I would caution anyone from using her or working with her for this very reason. Her motto on her website is: “whatever it is, whatever it takes, we take care of it” and our whole family (2 out of state realtors in the family) finds that to be an absolute joke, such a mockery of the profession of realtor. She made a stressful situation exponentially worse. Thanks Paula. :(

Negative experience: Cannot think of a more UNprofessional, borderline criminal realtor than this one. She is completely FAKE; pleasant to your face but a real stitch (especially for other realtors) to deal with; she is only interested in repping for high-figure deals (7 figures - like our house).... If you want such a "classy" person repping you, feel free.... She was the rep for the sellers from whom we purchased a home a few years ago. She strong-armed us over discrepancies in the house condition, wanted us to pay for a washer/dryer upstairs (that wasn't even hooked up - i.e. NO plumbing even available - it was just for show!), and then lambasted our realtor for bringing these things up. Have considered reporting her to the realty board. She will NOT be repping the buyers of our house this time... In a seller's market, good luck if you choose Ms. Paula Hinegardner! Also, if she sells your home quickly, the credit goes to the underlying market dynamics, not Ms. H....

Even though she did not know me she took the time to find out our needs and discuss the Nashville area with me. I told her when we would be in the area and set up an appointment to look at some homes with her. When my wife and I met her at her office we were surprised to find out that she had planned to spend the whole day with us. She drove us around to the different areas explaining to us why we would or might not want to live in the different areas. She also discussed some of the new home builders with us. We looked at a number of homes but none were quite right. I think each home we looked at gave her a better idea of what we were looking for. Even though we did not buy a home we felt we had made the right selection for a realtor. The next day Paula called me and said we had left a day too early that she had found the perfect home for us. It had not even come on the market yet. She immediately sent us pictures and a video of the home. We knew immediately that she was right, this was the perfect home. It was obvious that Paula had paid attention to our comments about the homes we visited as well as our conversations both with her and with each other. We immediately made an offer on the home and even though there were other offers we ended up with the contract to purchase the home. After that Paula and her team were with us every step of the way through the purchase process. They were also very helpful as they recommended vendors to do some work on the Home after we closed. In fact, even though we closed 6 weeks ago they are still there, answering questions etc. I don’t know what we would’ve done without them. She is very knowledgable about the entire real estate transaction from list to close. We hired Paula after watching a similar home to ours, in our neighborhood, sell in a couple of days for top dollar. Not once, but twice! And - just days before the holidays. We were shocked at the speed of the sales and made a note of her name. When it came time for us to sell, we were glad we called this rock star. As the photographer left our home before we listed, he said, "Prepare for this to move fast. Her homes don't last on the market very long." He was right! We received two full price offers in 48 hours for more than we thought we could get for our home. When we had problems on the other end of a transaction - buying a home in another state - it was Paula we called to problem solve. She saved the sale (more than once - for more than one problem) by contacting the other agents and conducting conference calls from out of state! She restored my faith in realtors! Negative experience: We worked with Paula for about a year during our home building process. She is very difficult to get a hold of! For about three or four months during the process I couldn’t get in touch with her at all even though I tried many times. As we neared the end of the building process she did get more involved but was too busy to come with us to our final walk through with the builder. She met us the following day alone and acted like our house was just “builder’s grade” and not worth her time. On closing day I expected her to be at that final walkthrough prior to signing but she did not show. We headed over to the title company for our closing and Paula was not there either. She did not tell us that she would not be there or what to expect. As this was our first home buying experience we would have felt more comfortable having our agent there. After closing to this date I have not heard from her regarding how everything went or a simple thanks for using her. NOTHING! I contacted her a few times since and nothing has come from it. I’m not sure who she is serving but it was not us. When I would try to call her during our year process she would either not answer or give an excuse that she was busy “going to a closing for another client” and couldn’t talk. That made the fact that she did not come to my closing that much more insulting.

Fantastic experience: This was our second time working with Paula and both times were wonderful. When we learned at the end of August that we would be moving from Franklin, TN to Los Angeles in a month we knew we had to call Paula. For us, this home sale was about TIME. We needed to get a contract within 10 days after listing. We couldn’t mess around with someone who didn’t know what they were doing. We called Paula and she came right over. In one meeting with a Paula we had a list price, a workable schedule, a marketing strategy.... the whole game plan. Our favorite thing about working with Paula is her knack for telling us what’s important and what’s not. “Paint this room - not that one.” That only comes with experience, and she is truly the best. Negative experience: I was working with Catherine Binhlam of Keller Williams Realty on buying my first home. She made this experience a miserable nightmare. Catherine in numerous occasions lied to me, belittle me, and insulted me. I’ve copied and paste the text messages so all can see! Prior to me getting my loan, I told Catherine I just bought a car. She said it’s ok, when the lender ran my credit they approved me for $150,000. I was so happy first home! I found my perfect house. 5 days before signing Catherine called me and said the lenders dropped me. I was sadden but, this is where the nightmare begins. Catherine tells me, I have to go to the dealership where I bought my car and return it. I told Catherine, I need my car to work. Catherine led me to believe because I signed a contract I would be sued and I’m obligated to buy the house! Now remember the lender DROPPED ME, technically I’m no longer obligated to buy the house. This lady said I had to return my car and I have to get the house.
