Negative experience: Don’t be fooled by Hunter's friendly demeanor when things are going smoothly. The second a transaction gets tough and real problems arise, he is the first to check out and completely abandon his clients. We are extremely disappointed with Hunter Sholar’s and Coldwell Banker Southern Realty’s representation during our new home purchase. They completely abandoned us during a critical transaction crisis, risking our $99,000 deposit and the house. When closing was delayed past May 7 due to lender and builder coordination, Hunter provided zero guidance. In fact, on the original closing date, he asked us who our lender was—information we had given him months prior. The situation escalated severely on May 12 when the builder issued a formal default letter threatening our deposit and house. Despite being copied on all communications, Hunter Sholar and his broker Edward Klem did absolutely nothing. Hunter failed to speak, negotiate, or advocate for us in any capacity. We were forced to hire an attorney to save our deposit and push the transaction to a May 22 closing ourselves. An agent’s true character is revealed during a crisis. Hunter Sholar showed a complete lack of honor and zero care for his clients. He talked a good game initially, but when things got tough, his promises meant nothing. I cannot comprehend how an established professional can be so shameless as to completely abandon a client in jeopardy, force them to hire an attorney to save their own deposit, and still pocket a commission he did absolutely nothing to earn.

Fantastic experience: We highly recommend John to anyone who is considering buying or selling a home. In our case, we were planning a move of a 1,000 miles to the Nashville area from we where we had lived for our whole lives. John had been the agent used by our daughter to buy her home when she moved down here a few years before. We contacted him and explained our desire to begin looking for homes in this area, and agreed to meet on a visit to my daughter’s. John listened to what we were looking for and made recommendations on other ideas for housing. From there we returned home and over the next several months John provided listings matching our requirements and was available to physically visit homes and walk us though them giving us honest assessments of them. We eventually decided that new construction would be best for us so we worked with John to identify locations and developments with home styles and amenities we wanted. I was able to spend a week visiting our preferred sites and when we narrowed it down John was there with to discuss particulars with selling agents. Once contracted, he supported us through the build process by doing site visits and negotiating items with seller. John was always available to us for phone calls, text messages, Face Time and on my visits to Nashville. He always made this stressful time calmer for us and supplied recommendations for inspectors, insurance agents and other things involved in moving to a new state. We are here now and happy in our new home, thanks John!

Fantastic experience: I cannot rave enough about Ashley! Moving from out of state, we didn’t really know the market. We really needed to find something on our first visit to Nashville, which was an huge ask. Ashley knocked it out of the park! She knew exactly what we wanted and needed, more so than we did! Her honesty and direct-ness ensured we didn’t waste time looking at properties that wouldn’t fit our needs and kept us realistic based on our budget. Once we put in an offer, she knocked it out of the park to ensure we didn’t miss a beat and closed by our needed move in date. She was a total advocate for us, checking every single detail to ensure our home was beyond “normal” expectations. The sellers were difficult and their realtor wasn’t very experienced, but you would never know because Ashley made the process such a breeze. Negative experience: I sent multiple inquires through their website listing. Got a phone call while I was at work, so I call the agent, Mr. Apple, after work. The agent quickly stated he does not handle the area of my need and stated, "I realized after I called you that I do not handle that...okay thank you" and hung up! No offer to give me the number in their office of someone who did or even waited for me to respond or say goodbye. Absolutely the rudest person I have met in all of Nashville.
