As it turned out I had some open permits from an addition and he secured the paperwork for me to apply for permits and lead me through the process to get them closed. Fantastic experience: We were in our Lagrange NY house for over 30 years. We had not kept up with everything our house and property needed. We responded to one of the postcards that said they buy houses, as is, for cash. They made us an offer that I thought was fair. Before selling, we decided to contact Michael. He came over to our house, walked the property and gave us his honest opinion. He spoke to us as if we were family. Michael then told us that, with some cleanup, we could get significantly more than we were offered. We then signed with Michael as our agent. He had pictures taken on a Tuesday and put our house up for sale on Wednesday. By Sunday morning we had 25 visits and 7 offers. We wound up getting far more than we would have sold it for to the cash for houses guy. Negative experience: Someone referred us to this guy when we were buying and he tried to represent both sides of a deal. He made no mention before, during, or after the house tours but I saw his name on the "For Sale" of one he was trying to get push us towards. He repped the seller and didn't tell us. Infact, prior to seeing it, I told him I wasn't interested in it but he showed us anyway. We drove two hours to see houses with him that day, too. We stopped working with him after that. I would not trust or recommend this agent.
