Fantastic experience: I reached out to Chris when we found out that an Independent living space came open for my mom. I had convinced myself that half the battle was over since she was willing to move from a 3600 sqf home to a one bedroom apartment, I was wrong! Once we had her moved in, reality set in and I was completely overwhelmed. We had purchased all new furniture for her new apartment and she took very little from her home. New to the area and first time home buyers: My husband and I are new to Bellingham and needed help purchasing our first home. There were a lot of unknowns to us, especially when you consider the crazy housing market we are currently in, but Chris and Kalli were incredibly helpful and very knowledgable, giving us peace of mind throughout the process. Our first meeting with the team: In the beginning of this process, we saw right away that working with the team was going to be much more beneficial than working with other agents. We were originally working with someone else, but didn’t feel like we were getting much out of our meetings with them. The very first time we met with Chris and Kalli, they brought us in to the office (working around our busy schedules) to ask us a series of questions to understand us and what we were looking for. In this exercise they covered topics that you don’t always remember to discuss when you simply meet with an agent at a property. After they had a good understanding about who we were and what we were looking for, Chris took us on a virtual tour of comps that had sold in the area throughout the last six month and all of the houses currently on the market. This was incredibly helpful in setting our expectations and having market data that we’d use to inform our purchase decisions. It was great to go through this process and getting answers to our questions in real time. Finding the right home: Once we found a property that we were happy with, the team hit the ground running. Chris helped us put together a strong offer, talking us through all of the various levers that we could pull to help our offer stand out to the seller. He helped set up a pre-inspection so we knew what the state of the house was prior to putting in our offer. He used his network to keep us informed on how our offer was doing against others and always responded in a swift manner. With his help, our offer was accepted. Because Chris had helped us understand what we could include in our offer to stand out, we were even able to beat out an offer that was higher in price than ours. Closing: We had a quick closing window, but Chris was there for us and answered any and all questions with lightening speed. This was incredibly important to ensure that we could close on time. Going above and beyond: We uncovered some small projects during the inspection and will do some renovations to the house before we move in. Chris and Kalli helped set up a meeting with a great contractor they know and gave us a list of recommendations for stores we could find and purchase materials. While the house was mostly empty after the seller had move out, there were some items left behind that we needed removed (including a sectional couch). Kalli helped in removing and donating these items from the house prior to us going into renovations. Lastly, Chris and Kalli were incredibly thoughtful and bought us some amazing house warming gifts that were anything but generic. Because they took the time to get to know us, their gifts were very tailored to us and what we want in our home. It was such a lovely and unexpected end to our home buying journey. I cannot recommend them enough to others. Purchasing a house is easily one of the most stressful and biggest decisions that one can embark on. But I know that you will be in good hands when choosing to work with Chris and Kalli because our experience was nothing but exceptional.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough. Chris worked early mornings, late nights, weekends including Saturday and Sunday mornings, leading into Sunday nights. (Without a complaint, and actually with enthusiasm.) During his busy days, every moment he had the slightest second to call me with an update he made the call. I forever appreciate the communication, and the smooth execution as he navigated through two tricky transactions in the same month, that could have easily turned away and scared an amateur. I mean the first transaction was a complete mess (for reasons outside of our control) , but Chris was able to just simply handle it. Like it was a cakewalk to him. He was always ready, often on very short notice, to take us to houses that came on the market, and he even returned with us to some houses multiple times so my children and grandchildren could see them too. Then when we found the house we loved—as he said would eventually happen—he helped us with a sound strategy for creating a winning bid. He helped us choose an offer amount that was attractive to the seller, but not inappropriately high. He has a good sense of property values and helped us to choose a reasonable amount. Chris is very likeable and this not only helps to make the house-viewing experience enjoyable, but it also helps him to have good relations with sellers’ agents. His good communication with other agents helped us to understand what we were buying and to make a successful offer that we were comfortable with. Fantastic experience: When it comes to real estate agents in Whatcom County - I couldn't recommend anyone else. My wife and I were house hunting for close to 2 years, with a serious intent on moving starting in November of 2020. We had a different agent at the time. We were able to see houses but finding information regarding the house, options, area, or more details was quite difficult. So was trying to see houses in an increasingly competitive market in a timely manner. After losing out on a couple houses due to time conflicts, we switched to Chris. At this time we decided that Lynden, WA seemed like where we wanted to move. The market in Lynden seems to be the most aggressive with the least inventory - making the potential for moving more difficult. Meeting Chris, as our agent, was worlds apart. He showed up to our house. In hand was a previous listing of the house and a detail oriented estimate of the value of the house. Chris then walked the house to provide insight on what to change, what not to change, how prices could vary or what buyers look for. This insight was invaluable. The first house we looked at, in Lynden, was close to a train track but didn't look used. We inquired whether the tracks were in use - and soon after, Chris had provided detailed information of places he had called and researched to determine whether the tracks were active or not. This was a breath of fresh air, as we then new that we could ask questions (silly or not) and understood that Chris was there to find the answers. It wasn't just about getting us into a house and closing a sale - it was about finding a house, even in a competitive market, and providing the information we inquired without us having to spend our own time to determine these details about potential properties. Going above and beyond. While we looked at potential houses Chris was always presented professionally. However, when the time arose, this didn't stop him from getting under a house with us to look at immediate concerns. Again, going above and beyond. Chris provided some invaluable pieces to the selling and moving process that made things much easier on us. He coordinated the photos for the sale of our house - not once, but twice. He developed the marketing material and advertisements. He also had a professional cleaner clean the house after we moved out, to ensure the new owners had a clean house but also to take that step off of our plates during the moving process. Again, going above and beyond. My wife and I are very detail oriented - and we read contracts. Chris understood the verbiage of the contracts to where we could leverage as needed to both make our offers more presentable and also handle the buyers of our house. At times Chris was both the buying agent and selling agent (for both our purchase in Lynden and sale of the previous house) to ensure communication flowed properly and items were handled swiftly. At times we even joked Chris deserved the other agents commissions due to the additional work he was doing on behalf of the other agents. Once again, above and beyond. We are proud to say we now live in Lynden - and without Chris, we don't think it would have been possible. We cannot stress enough that we would not recommend another agent in Whatcom County.

There was another home being built that my wife and I had remembered seeing online (unfortunately the area had bad cell service) and we didn’t really know where it was. In an industry where there are a lot of "used car salesman" type realtors, Chris stands out as the real deal. When pricing our house, Chris did the research and came up with a fair price. Realtors are known for pricing your house high to get your business, then doing reductions to market value. As a seller, this strategy only serves to make me feel bad about my house. Chris is straight up about price points and discusses the options of pricing high, low or at market value. This empowers you to be part of the selling plan and everything is above board and honest. Chris truly fosters a team approach. When making an offer on a house, Chris is top notch at negotiations. He takes notes on your concerns and the reasons why you love the house . Like a lawyer, he builds a strong case with facts, repair estimates and comps to support your offer. I kept teasing Chris that he deserves an honorary degree in psychology. In the past, when buying and selling a house, the negotiations have been very stressful. Chris takes all that on behind the scenes, weeds out the mess, and presents clear bottom line communication.
