Columbia Crossing Apartments: Reviews
Negative experience: We are extremely disappointed with our experience at Columbia Crossing. During the tour, management conveniently avoided showing us the actual building entrance and condition of the property. Upon move-in, we immediately found cockroaches in the apartment. Not days later, immediately after opening the door. The condition of the unit was unacceptable. One of the closets contained animal feces, paint is peeling off the walls, and the toilet was not properly secured. We feel misled about the condition of the property before signing the lease. Management did send an exterminator quickly, which we appreciate, but we still cannot comfortably unpack or use parts of our kitchen because pesticide liquid is being sprayed throughout the cabinets and apartment weekly. Regardless of assurances that it is “non-toxic,” it is extremely uncomfortable having chemicals where dishes and food items are supposed to go. Even a week later we still haven’t once used the kitchen or un packed anything other than our clothes. They also offered to transfer us to another unit, but that does not solve the underlying issue. If cockroaches are present immediately upon move-in, this appears to be a building-wide problem rather than an isolated unit issue. They are German cockroaches as well, and after doing research that indicates an infestation. The apartment was not move-in ready, and this experience has been very stressful and disappointing. Future tenants should make sure to inspect every part of the building and unit carefully before signing.
Hi kyla,
We are truly sorry to hear about your extremely disappointing move-in experience at Columbia Crossing. It is unacceptable that you encountered such significant issues, including cockroaches immediately upon entering your apartment, animal feces in a closet, peeling paint, and a loose toilet. We understand how unsettling and stressful this must have been, especially feeling misled about the property's condition. While we are glad an exterminator was sent quickly, we empathize with your discomfort regarding the continued pesticide application, and we regret that you haven't been able to fully use your kitchen or unpack your belongings. We acknowledge your concerns about the pest situation appearing to be more widespread. Please reach out to us directly at (573) 474-6137 so we can discuss how we can best address this and work towards making your living situation more comfortable.
Negative experience: This place is by far the worst place I’ve ever rented. They “redid” the hole place before we moved it and now the paint if falling off thr walls, sub floor is literally popping up, my bathroom ceiling is about to fall in. The place is falling apart but they still want 1100$ rent. Victoria in the office always seems to have an attitude problem and rolling eyes if she doesn’t like the conversation. If they don’t like you they won’t do anything to fix the problem. Countless reports of the neighbor being extremely loud just for them to do nothing. After telling them I have enough videos of them walking and shacking our hole apartment, i still have to live under what sounded like an elephant enclosure for 9 months. I went through the security team they told me to report stuff to and they took only a hour to show just to do nothing. The only good thing about this place is the nice maintenance guys. But if you’re thinking about living here, id make it a last resort.
Hi there,
We are so incredibly sorry to hear about the extensive issues you've experienced during your time at Columbia Crossing. It's deeply concerning to learn that the renovations haven't held up as expected, with paint peeling, subflooring issues, and a bathroom ceiling in disrepair. We understand how frustrating it must be to face these problems, especially when combined with such a high rent.
We also want to address your concerns regarding Victoria in the office and the overall responsiveness to your maintenance requests and noise complaints. It's disheartening to hear that you felt Victoria had an attitude and that your concerns, including the disruptive noise from your neighbor, were not adequately addressed, even after providing video evidence. The experience you described of living under what sounded like an "elephant enclosure" for nine months is completely unacceptable, and we regret that our response to these reports did not bring you the peace you deserved.
We acknowledge your feedback about the maintenance team being a positive aspect, but it's clear that this does not outweigh the significant challenges you've faced. We want to assure you that your feedback is being taken very seriously.
We would like to discuss this further with you directly to understand the full scope of these issues and explore what can be done. Please reach out to us at (573) -615-1566 at your earliest convenience. We are committed to making this right.
Fantastic experience: I lived very comfortably for three years at the Crossings. It’s a wonderful deal, I looked all around, and there were more expensive apartments with smaller bedrooms. These bedrooms are very nice size. The gym has all the basics And never any wait to get on the equipment. The staff here are wonderful. They’re very helpful. They have a lot of fun things to do like pet Halloween costume contest, Mother’s Day, flowers, etc. I love how you send a text out and immediately the handymen come and check it out and try to fix it right away. I see a lot of people benefiting from the bus Routes right outside of the entrance. Lastly, a lot of the neighbors are very nice, And it’s very close to places like Walmart, restaurants and shops.
Negative experience: Victoria is rude, judgemental and constantly rolls eyes at you and if she doesn't like you she treats you poorly.
I believe this issue has already been resolved with management, but feel free to reach out with any future concerns. Thank you for your feedback.
Negative experience: Blonde hair agent is very rude. No one notifies resident of particular things are going to get shut off for an hour or so they act like we’re supposed to be okay with our apartment being touched and messed with with no knowledge. Residents have children that do no deserve to be in conditions left without water etc . When I asked about the water being shut off I was asked which building I was in and that maintenance was probably doing something…as if it’s okay to not notify a resident of ANYTHING being shut off. I was met with attitude pretty instantly and was told “well I’m the only one here” Kennedy and Matt has never once spoken to any of their residents like this. The blonde lady rolled her eyes as she spoke to me just filled with entitlement. It’s certainly not a residents fault that your falling behind but as resident that pays bills to this property it’s very inappropriate for things to be scheduled without knowledge. I was told that I can speak to her boss in two weeks. I’ve never had a problem with any of their agents not Kennedy or Matt . Communication is big especially in a community you want to portray as welcoming..LET YOUR RESIDENTS KNOW IF WATER/ ELECTRICITY/ ANYTHING IS GOING TO BE UNDER MAINTENANCE. You expect your rent on time and I expect communication . Thank you to Matt and Kennedy for being the ones to really work with their residents..blonde lady is a space filler apparently. Thanks.
Thank you for your feedback, feel free to reach out to management with any further issues.
Positive experience: 喜欢这里在这里可以游泳还有健身,唯一不太好的就草地上很多狗狗的排泄物。不太卫生。
Hi there! Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave us a review. If you need anything, please give us a call!
Fantastic experience: Super friendly management staff with a speedy maintenance team!
D A, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Columbia Crossing.
Fantastic experience: Let me start off by saying that, I am pretty picky when it comes to where I live and the conditions of the my living space. With that being said, I can be pushy and persistent. Despite this, Columbia Crossing is one of the best places I have lived in Columbia and they have been more than accommodating over the past month I have lived here. When I decided to look here, I first spoke with Kennedy, she is charismatic and always has an amazing attitude. Kennedy was full of information and forthcoming with it before I even stepped foot in the community, which I appreciated. When I toured, I had the pleasure of meeting Victoria, she is one of the most empathetic and sweet people I have met in the Conventional Housing Community in Columbia. She showed care, understanding, and patience with me. I appreciate that more than she will ever know. You can tell both ladies truly care for the people they rent to. The apartments themselves are well maintained, great size, and good cleanliness, all for an affordable price which you cannot find anywhere else I have seen. The grounds and amenities within the community are well maintained as well which is huge! I did have some maintenance issues when I moved in, but they have been taken care of and the continuous issue, is in the process of being resolved. Which brings me to my next point. Their maintenance team is wonderful. Not only are they sweet but you can tell they truly care about what they do, and they do it very well. Especially, Carlos and Matthew. Not only are they efficient, but they also stop to talk with you and check in to see if everything is still going ok. The community is cozy, quiet, and tucked away, and I feel safe here. The customer service/just being good human beings really make the community feel more like home. It is not about where you rent, it is about the people you rent from.
Hi Emily! Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave us this review. We appreciate your kind words and are grateful for having you as a tenant! If you ever need anything, please give us a call!
Positive experience: When we were moving in 3 people from our building came out and helped us unload the entire trailer. Made us feel super welcome. The ladies in the office are super nice, the grounds are kept IMMACULATE. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the area surrounding the apartments is pretty sketchy, I wish the gates were turned on but they apparently were damaged during the winter because people kept running into them. Makes sense. I really like this place though
We are happy that you are a part of our community Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Positive experience: 选择这里居住是个不错的选择。节省了很不必要的事情。
Hi Zhenmei Yu, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Columbia Crossing. We're happy we could meet your expectations!
Fantastic experience: Front office is quick to respond with any concerns, and all around great place to live for anyone looking for affordable housing!

Fantastic experience: Customer service was amazing! Victoria was so helpful and made navigating the process so much easier.
Kamille Harvey, thanks for your praise and kind comments about our team. Thank you, and have a fantastic day!
Fantastic experience: Parents and students - call Victoria for help! We called several apt locations and no one compared to the friendly, helpful, courteous staff at Columbia Crossings. They quickly respond to calls, answered our questions and made us feel like they cared about our college student - not like the other places.
Veleda Harvey, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us.
Positive experience: Office and maintenance staff are really good. They communicate well and are always professionals. Only issues I have are the gate sometimes work and other times not so much. Walls are super thin, you can hear your neighbors thoughts for sure. Beyond that no major issues.
Hi there! We are reaching out to thank you for leaving us a review! If you are having any issues please give the office a call!
Positive experience: Hi, I think is a good place to live. I'm new in us, I have many things to learn in language, culture, places to visit and many others things. In general, I see that it's save place. Thanks, Sincerely Bienvenu
Bienvenu Kenfack Nanda, we are so happy to read such a great review about Columbia Crossing!

Sid, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Columbia Crossing.
Positive experience: We like it a lot, been there a year now, the staff and maintenance people are so attentive and polite, rent can be a little expensive thats the only issue
Joa, we are so happy to read such a great review about Columbia Crossing!
Positive experience: My dogs love going outside and running in the open space. It’s quiet and the people you run into are friendly. I have enjoyed my couple of months being here :) Only reason there isn’t 5 stars is that there is always room for improvement
We appreciate your positive review about your recent experience with us!
Fantastic experience: I've lived at Columbia Crossing for 4 to five years. I've lived in three different apartments. The buildings and grounds are well maintained, as well as improvements to structures and parking lots. The apartments are well maintained and the buildings gs are clean. Property staff is phenomenal, maintenance is punctual and resolved issues promptly, office staff is friendly, compassionate, and easy to talk to.
India, we're happy you found our staff to be so supportive during your experience here at Columbia Crossing.
Fantastic experience: Just moved in. Office staff has been very friendly and more than helpful in getting me informed on the property and into my apartment quickly. So far, so good!
Caitlin, we are glad we could help!
Fantastic experience: People that work here are amazing and nice. And you also got great neighbors close to you.
Megan, we're happy you found our staff to be so supportive during your experience here at Columbia Crossing.
Fantastic experience: Columbia Crossing has been nothing but good to me since I lived there. If I have any issues they are fixed and resolved within a timely manner And I would recommend this place to anyone wanted looking for an apartment. It’s really a nice place.
Kiara, we are so happy to read such a great review about Columbia Crossing!
Fantastic experience: I have lived here for 4 years now and overall it has been a positive experience. The office staff are friendly and answer all your questions or concerns. Maintenance answers all requests promptly. I have had a couple emergency calls and they were here in less than an hour. The complex has been working on updating things. I also feel safe living in this apartment community.
Holly Waters, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us.
Positive experience: Management is okay, maintance guys do what they can when they can but deserve more support.
Tessa Koeck, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Columbia Crossing!
Positive experience: Living at these apartments is nice experience, haven’t had issues with other tenants for the most part, there are also several restaurants close to the area allowing for a variety of options as well as gym & swimming pool amenities. Though there were a few changes made since my arrival, the biggest con to living here would be the fact that your cellular signals are worse than usual whenever you’re here.
Hi K.o.d Dreams, thank you so much for your positive comments about Columbia Crossing!
Fantastic experience: Columbia Crossing has been so great! They’re always quick to get back with me and with any maintenance request i’ve put in! Highly recommend!
Mackenzie, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Columbia Crossing.
Fantastic experience: my family and I love living here!! the office staff is so understanding when it comes to things and maintenance is always on top in things when stuff happens! i’ve enjoyed living here!!
Hi Tainisha, thank you for the positive review of our community!
Fantastic experience: They have been great to work with. They have nice, spacious apartments. They also made sure to relocate me to a different apartment after finding out about foundation issues before I moved in. Great community.
Nicole, we are so happy to read such a great review about Columbia Crossing!
Positive experience: it’s a great place! my boyfriend and i enjoy it! the staff and maintenance are very helpful. i would recommend if you wanna live in a gated and a coded environment! it would be a lot easier with a washer and dryer in your unit but the apartment is still nice and quite sometimes (depending on your floor and neighbors ofc)!
Destiney, we are so happy to read such a great review about Columbia Crossing!
Fantastic experience: Couldn't have asked for better service when needed. One of the best places I've rented from, ever. Most def recommend
James, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Columbia Crossing.
Positive experience: Management and staff were quick to respond to any issues/emails/calls. Good space for a one bedroom apartment, with adequate appliances. For someone new to town, the complex isn't in the nicest part of town, but there is quick access to major roads. Other cons were the apartment itself had a bit of a stale cigarette smell, and the building was shared with eleven others, so it could be noisy at times.
Hi Guthrie, thank you for the positive review of our community!
Fantastic experience: My wife and I enjoyed living here! The apartment was nice, and it was a good place to live. My only two complaints are that someone ran into my car in the parking lot (and there weren't security cameras to catch it) and our neighbour above us smoked constantly. But those sorts of things can happen anywhere. Maintenance was aways prompt, and I did not run into any issues with staff. I'd definitely recommend living here.
Hi Nathan, thank you for the positive review of our community!
Fantastic experience: Seems like a good place to live so far. Just barely moved in. Office staff were very helpful and courteous. They responded to any of my concerns or questions promptly during the move in process. Glad to have a place to live now.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for the 5-star review and deciding to rent with Columbia Crossing!
Positive experience: I've lived here for about 3 years now. I moved from out of state so I wasn't familiar with Columbia, Or Missouri. My apartment is quiet, , and it is nice. The staff is super friendly and helpful. After having stroke they have been very helpful in trying to move us to another floor. This complex is off of 70, so it's not the best neighborhood. I feel safe because my whole building is enclosed in a gate that shuts and locks at night. When we’ve had emergency calls they are fast to take care of it. . I really wish my apartment had an individual washer and dryer in unit. I'd honestly pay a little more for it. They have a nice dog park area, which is nice for dogs. Very pet friendly overall, My biggest issue is the neighbor but th ex office staff tries to help There. I do wish laundry was better as people have ruined my clothes using bad chemicals or dye.
Hi Kandi, we really enjoyed hearing about your positive experience at Columbia Crossing, as well as your feedback on areas we can improve.
Positive experience: It seems quiet but it really has become a very horrible neighborhood. As long as you stay to yourself you're all right I don't recommend mingling with your neighbors.
Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. If you would like to further communicate your issue, please contact us at, 314-721-8000.
Fantastic experience: I have lived here since 2018 and had a good experience. Management is friend and helpful for any situation. Matt and Kennedy are amazing people to work with. Any issues I’ve had always got solves immediately with no problems. Only had 1 issue with bugs and they sent out pest control and I never seen any more. Neighbors were respectful. Never really seen them. This is a nice affordable place to stay as a college student and it’s gated with door codes.
Hi Jacquelyn - thank you for the positive review of our community!
Fantastic experience: Been here for about a year now, loved it so far! The staff has been great, they’re always ready to help if there’s an issue. The maintenance staff are also great. They’re always ready to help as well.
Hi Jerell - thank you for the great review of our community!
Fantastic experience: I have lived in this apartment for two years and had a very good experience. Plenty of parking, reasonable prices. Management is very friendly, almost all repairs are done the same or next day, and management really cares about your problems. 10/10 Recommendation.
Hi Sam, thank you for the positive review! We love hearing from residents who have a great experience at our community.
Positive experience: I moved in yesterday and overall I would give this place a 4 out of 5. Kennedy was so nice and so great to work with.
Thanks so much, Lillie!
Negative experience: It was the worst experience. So bad that we will not be moving forward with this property. There were so many set backs including them having to rewrite their lease more than three times because Kennedy kept making mistakes in it and never gave the correct information out. We were told rent was a certain amount which she wrote down on a piece of paper we still have, which was later on changed to something else, and she let us know that she had made a mistake. Then she promised us a specific apartment in a specific location and then called us because she had messed up and that apartment wouldn't be available till later, and since we needed the apartment sooner we went with something else within the property. Later on they changed the move in date again because of a water leakage. When the move in date came around we came to find out we still couldn't move in because the carpet was soaked in water still. Just so many inconsistencies with what they said to what was factually correct. Both Kennedy and Matt, the property manager, have such bad communication skills. It seems like both of them are never on the same page on anything. Too much of the he said she said. Matt lied to us to our faces about a couple of things we found wrong with the apartment which we still have pictures of. They had a none operating fire/smoke detector which I know for a fact is a safety hazard. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings
We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at Columbia Crossing. We appreciate your honest feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Please know this situation has been reviewed by our Regional Manager and addresses with the team.
Fantastic experience: If I could give a ten star review I would give Columbia Crossing a perfect 10, not only because it's has very nice apartments, a pool, a workout room,a laundry room, and a dog park, but also because Donna is amazing! She is one of the nicest people I have met, Donna made the experience of renting here at Columbia Crossing awesome, she worked with me and my daughter on getting our apartment on the same day we applied for it, We had our keys to our apartment in our hands before 4 pm on the same day, it felt like coming home! Thanks Donna for everything, You Rock!!!
We strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at Columbia Crossing. If you're ever in need of more help, please let us know! We do hope we can be of assistance in the future.
Fantastic experience: I don't have any issues with columbia crossing. I love it here
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day! We sincerely thank you for the positive review, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic experience: I've lived here for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say. The staff are friendly, efficient, and they do a great job of both office matters and maintenance. The grounds are taken care of very well, the pool is clean, and the snow removal is done in a reasonable time period in the winter. 10/10 would recommend living here!
We're glad to hear we delivered such a great experience. Your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us. If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help!
Fantastic experience: I have been with Columbia Crossing for two years and am never disappointed with the amazing service I receive from the leasing office and Maintence! Matt and Donna have gone out of their way to help me out and I am extremely grateful. Thank you so much everything Columbia crossing you make renting easy!!! Also shout out to the wonderful Maintence team again especially Travis!
We're so glad that we were able to go above and beyond your expectations! If there's anything further we can do for you, we are happy to help! Have a wonderful day.
Fantastic experience: I lived at columbia crossing for 3 years. Maintenance was cool and management very friendly . Property was always clean. Only reason i left was cause i transfered jobs.
We're happy you found our staff to be so supportive during your experience at Columbia Crossing. If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. We can't wait to see you again, have a great day.
Negative experience: Walls are thin. If you want peace and quiet this isn't place. Found a used condom in my storage unit when I moved in so it's not the cleanest place. My neighbor has set his smoke alarm off three times (pounded on his door once, he thanked me for waking him up and saving his life). Police substation two blocks away so that may give you an idea of the type of neighborhood here. If you anxiety I suggest you find somewhere else. This place is stressful.
We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at Columbia Crossing. We work hard to provide a fantastic experience to everyone. It's discouraging to see that you had a negative experience. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at (573) 474-6137 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.
Negative experience: The staff was incredibly rude. They misplaced a package of mine worth a little over $100 and claimed they were not held liable. The neighbor directly beneath me had a psychotic break, punched out the window, and was standing outside in underwear covered in blood when I came home from class one day. On a separate occasion, I had a man crawl out from underneath my car one morning despite the fact that the parking lots were gated and there are so called security officers guarding the premises. Luckily the man did not harm me. Lastly, one weekend there was a plumbing emergency that left three buildings without water for an entire weekend. It is extremely over priced for what you will get. Take my advice and find another place to live.
Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.
Fantastic experience: The staff is fantastic and same day leasing helped us out. Animal friendly and courteous neighbors.
Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
Fantastic experience: I live at Columbia Crossing. These are older buildings in a gated complex, centrally located. I have an affordable 2 bedroom apartment, low utilities, new appliances and ample storage. There is scheduled maintenance with the response rate of 1 day for requested services. There is a small gym and outdoor pool/patio. The staff is friendly and onsite til 6pm. It is a pet friendly complex. Very quiet no incidents. 3 bus routes are only a few steps away. My only complaint is that we need a place designated to place trash recycle instead of an all-in-one container. Otherwise, a great place to live. I'm surprised that more college students don't live here for the affordability and transportation. The City buses are a straight shot to UMC and Columbia College.
Georgia Jaeger, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review!
Fantastic experience: My girlfriend and I just recently moved out of Columbia Crossing and into a new home. I have to say living at Columbia Crossing was a great experience for us. There are a lot of slumlords around, but no matter what we needed, whether it be a new stove, dishwasher or whatever, the office staff and maintenance crew were on it immediately, and they never cut corners. We had some new people move in downstairs from us and they were young and were loud at night at first, but we called and let the office know and they took care of the problem and the kids were quiet from then on out. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone looking for housing in Columbia, if I ever move out of my house, I will rent from them again.
Hello Joe! Thank you so much for the feedback. We are delighted to hear that you love Columbia Crossing as much as we do.
Negative experience: Management sucks. We have had an issue with out neighbors since they moved in six months ago, but management has not done anything towards resolving it. They told us they have talked to them, but it is obviously not doing anything. They even told us to stop calling security for noise complaints.
Good Morning Andrea. We apologize for any noise issues you may be experiencing. As we have communicated to you, we have reached out to your neighbors (both those you suggest are causing the issue and others) and also our security company. We have not found evidence of any noise issues or other disturbances. If this continues to happen, please reach out to us immediately so we can address the situation right away, when it is happening. Please reach out to the office if you need any additional information.
Negative experience: I stayed here for 5 months on a nursing travel assignment. I have to say it's outdated but the price helps compensate for that. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the money they took from my security deposit. They charged me $46 for three drip pans and paint on the kitchen wall. I really don't know how that was figured. I cleaned the drip pans (and the entire apartment) but if they would like to replace them before a new tenant, that is standard, then that is on them. Also I have no idea why I was charged for a repaint in the kitchen, as repainting is also standard for the next tenants as well. I feel like this was just a way to get extra money from me because I am obviously not going to waste my time going to court over $46, and I live in another state now.
Hi Jessica, thank you for the feedback. We really appreciated your residency with us and we are sorry you were not satisfied with the amount of your deposit refund.
We work very hard to ensure that we are accurate with any charges applied to deposits. You mentioned that repainting is standard, but as you said you were only there for 5 months, so typically we should not have to do repainting with that short of a stay. Also the drip bowls were new when you moved in, and while you may have cleaned them, they were not left in acceptable condition to pass on to our next resident so we had to replace them. Since you were only there for 5 months we don’t consider that to be a normal life span of those items and therefore must charge for them. Please feel free to reach out to us in the office if you would like to speak to us directly about this.
Once again we thank you for the opportunity of serving your housing needs!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely LOVE living here! This is a great place for any college kid to live! I moved into a one bedroom last November and then transferred to a 2 bedroom in May. The staff made the move so easy! The apartments are super cute and are affordable! It is a gated community, so that makes me super safe! My questions and concerns get answered within a few hours when I e-mail. I have never had any bad experiences with Columbia Crossings! I recommend this place to anyone!
Thanks, Sarah! We absolutely love that you live here! We're certainly here for you, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for sharing the love; we appreciate you.
Negative experience: I lived here for 6 months. Staff is good and cooperative, Walls are paper thin, Building is very old and carpet is dirty. Its my advice to any new resident take a picture of every thing before you move in. So that way they don't blame you. I made a mistake by not taking my carpet pics and becz of that they charge me for the carpet cleaning.
Hello Rizwan. All carpets are professionally cleaned prior to move-ins. During our walk-through move in inspection with you, the carpet was clean and no mention was made of it not being cleaned to your satisfaction. The property manager would have been happy to discuss additional cleaning options with you during your residency. We apologize if you were upset with the move-out charge for additional cleaning needed. Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: I've lived here for over a year and hopefully will continue to do so as long as my career lets me. Columbia Crossing was one of the last complexes I visited and I'm glad I did. The military discount towards my deposit and even pet fee was more than I could have asked for and a wonderful treatment towards others like myself who serve. I have never had an issue with the workers, staff and other residents. I have greatly enjoyed my time here at Columbia Crossing, as have my dog, and have always felt supported by the amazing staff, especially Kollin!
Thank you, Emily. We appreciate your residency and thank you for your service. We are happy to hear you are enjoying your experience here and encourage you to reach out to the office whenever you have any questions or concerns. Thank you and happy holidays.
Fantastic experience: Great staff to work with. I am a salesman for a multimedia company. I've never seen a bad apartment. If anything is needed, they make sure it gets done. Very clean and nicely ran complex.
Thank, you Kevin. We appreciate you sharing your experience with Columbia Crossing. Happy Holidays!
Negative experience: My husband is a disabled veteran and we are victims of Hurricane Maria. A veteran program is willing to help my husband and I move into an apartment and pay all fees and rent for first month to move. We get more than enough in va pension each month to cover rent after. However, this place is NOT veteran friendly and rude. The ssvf program just wanted a copy of their W9 to prove they are a business so they could cut a check to them and they refused. The lease would have been in only our name. I guess they don’t like veterans or money. Their loss and that’s discrimination.
Christina, we are very sorry if you felt we would not value your residency. We certainly would love to have you all live in our community, however, after we spoke directly with the agent of your program, your current program does not meet the standard income and application requirements for our community. We are accommodating to anyone who meets our application requirements and actually have a military/veteran preferred employer program which offers both waived application fees and waived security deposits. You’re welcome to apply directly with us, however, we do have to maintain the same standard application requirements for everyone applying to our community. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Customer service is amazing! Specifically Kollin that works in the clubhouse has gone above and beyond for me, in making sure everything gets worked out. So happy with how he has help me since I moved in. This place is an amazing place to live and the people that work here really make sure everyone is happy.
Thank you, Katherine. We are very happy to hear you are settling well in your apartment and in the community. Thank you for sharing your experience and we look forward to seeing you around the community!
Fantastic experience: We visited Columbia Crossing Apartments when my wife and I were shopping apartments. Kollin King helped us out and showed us the different setups Columbia Crossing offered. He was very helpful and knowledgeable in regards to any housing questions we had. On top of that, he had a great sense of humor and really made our tour enjoyable.
Thank you, Charlie. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your tour. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions we can help with. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Its a wonderful place to live and the staff are really helpful and kind, I have been for 3 years and would not go anywhere because I love my apartment
Thank you for the review, Georgitta! We are happy to hear you enjoy your apartment and the community and we will strive to continue making Columbia Crossing a great place to live.
Negative experience: We moved in and things were okay for a bit, but then our downstairs neighbor harrassesd constantly about out 13 lb beagle puppy running acrossed the carpet. We tried our best to stop her from running but we always got called on (which they found nothing wrong everytime) and several times she came up banging on our door and floors. When finally adressed by staff, they told us we were following the rules and they would handle her. A month later she starts blaring music so loud it shakes our floor boards everytime the dog trots across the carpet. The office solution was to call on her everytime she did it. We only called twice because she would turn the music down and ignore security. She would then wait for them to leave and start it again. We were afraid to even walk in our own apartment so we ended moving a momth early and we asked if there was anyway we could maybe pardon the last months rent since we moved to get away from the harrassment. We were told that we caused just as many problems even though followed all the rules and only got a noise violation bc the dogs bark collar batteries died while we were at work and something spooked her. We will no longer be renting apartments due to this experience.
Hi Rachel, we apologize for any noise issues you experienced with your neighbors. Unfortunately, we had several noise-related complaints regarding your apartment that we had to work to resolve as well. We understand living in a pet friendly apartment community can sometimes be a challenge regarding noise and every resident has to do their part to be respectful of their neighbors. Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: The staff are awesome. I've had doors closed on me because of my background without even trying to get to know me. Columbia Crossing allowed me to explain and gave me a chance at having my own place. Looks like a great place to live, with great amenities. Glad to be a tenant.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Nyamekye. We pride ourselves on service and are sorry to hear about your poor customer service experiences in the past. Please always feel free to reach out to us in the office with any questions or concerns.
Fantastic experience: I am an international doctoral student and lived here for one year. It's a 5-minute drive to campus/downtown. Also, the staff is always helpful and friendly. Anytime I had an issue, they were quick to respond to take care of it. The maintenance staff is doing remarkable job in keeping the space clean and safe. It offers also a gym, tanning area, public office space and a swimming pool- all of no extra charge to the residents and always kept clean. There's gated open parking. It's pretty quiet aside from the road traffic. I was lucky to have great neighbors in my unit and quickly became friends with them. Pets are allowed and the apartments offer lots of grassy areas for you to walk your dog or cat. I had a cat, and I started walking her out while living in these apartments. Always feeling safe and home. I would not have moved but needed to move to a new city. You will enjoy it and will be offered great value and services for your money.
Thank you, Lena. We appreciate you sharing your experience and are happy to hear you and your cat enjoyed living at Columbia Crossing. We hope you are enjoying your new city. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Living here was an absolute joy. The staff was always prompt and courteous. I never once had an issue with anything while living here. If it wasn't for relocating jobs to a new city I would've renewed my lease.
Thanks Lucas! We appreciate the honest feedback and wish you the best in your new job and the new city.
Fantastic experience: I have stayed in Columbia Crossing for one year in the two bedroom, one bathroom apartment and I am signing for another year with them. I have great experience living there. The people in the office, especially Carroll, are always very helpful and friendly, no matter if it is in person or over the phone. The maintenance staff are great and fast, they come as fast as possible, usually the day after I call, before they come they leave a paper in the front to tell when they come and as for permission and when they done they also left a paper to tell me that they have finish fixing or checking. Thus I feel very assured that what I request has been taken care of as well as my staying in the apartment is respected. In addition, the apartment (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom) are spacious, making cooking in the kitchen and eating in the dining room very comfortable. They also have the bus that run from 6 am to 8 pm right in front of the apartment, which was helpful for people who don't have a car. On the other hand they have many parking place for people who own car. They allow tenants to own pets (check with them which type is allowed). This is a great apartment to stay in with a very reasonable price and great staff. There is only one small problem I have when living here, is the heater did not work when the winter start, although it work when I first move in. Thus I recommend checking the heater before the winter come and tell the maintenance staff to fix it in case it broke, as they fixed it within two days after I told them. It has been working great since then. Can not wait to come back there when the school start again.
Thank you, Alice! We look forward to you coming back as well.
Fantastic experience: Kollin has been exceptionally helpful and the maintenance staff was always prompt, efficient, and very nice. The community has been very enjoyable, everyone I met from the dog park to just random interactions have been very kind which made for a great living experience.
Thank you, Garrett. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Fantastic experience: Carroll is awesome and makes sure that my needs are met. They are very attentive to any maintenance issues and keep the apartments and the community areas clean. Would definitely recommend living here.
Fantastic experience: Carroll is definitely awesome. She understands every situation and she works with you in every situation! My experience so far has been very pleasant with her and I'm in love with my apartment! Thanks Carroll!!
Fantastic experience: Lived here for 2 years. Columbia Crossing is a well managed complex here in Columbia. I've lived in 2 Mills properties and both were great. Columbia Crossing has an awesome maintenance crew, and office staff is very helpful. The office staff has been the same people the entire time we lived there, and they seem to really care about the property. We felt very safe here, the pool is awesome, anything you need fixed is done in a timely manner. If you've lived in a lot of apartments, I guarantee you won't be dissappinted here. My favorite feature is the water filters installed in both the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
Fantastic experience: I reserved an apartment here but ended up choosing a different apartment for location reasons, and Kollin refunded almost my entire deposit even though he was no longer required to. When I visited the apartments, they were very nice and seemed very safe. The staff was wonderful.
Fantastic experience: Very nice location. Had some hiccups while moving in. (Apt was not ready for sure) but after that haven't had any problems. Great location for my family! Pet friendly & great neighbors. Door codes help you feel safe & I have neighbors that deliver any packages that they see outside the doors to prevent any thefts. Outstanding community. *two thumbs up*
Hi Melissa, we’re so sorry about the move-in hiccup. We appreciate you understanding that we are not perfect, but always do our best to rectify our mistakes so that our residents can feel happy in their apartment homes. And we’re certainly happy to see the 2 thumbs up. We appreciate you.
Positive experience: We drove into town with a uhaul needing a place to move into ASAP and they got us moved in same day. Kollin King understood our urgency and worked with us to get everything taken care of. Great service and knowledge. Flexible lease terms worked out great for our situation.
Thanks Caleb! We know moving can be stressful and we are happy to hear we did our part in making it a little less stressful for you. Thanks for sharing!
Positive experience: The apartment complex manager, Kollin King, was incredible to deal with. Very informative and made my family feel welcome and at ease. It is an older apartment complex but you can tell they are working on keeping things as nice as possible.
Thank you Stacia. We are happy to hear you feel welcome in our community. We strive to make Columbia Crossing a great place to live with quality service and amenities and spacious apartments and we are happy to hear it shows. Thanks again - The CC Team
Positive experience: Staff and maintenance crew are very attentive. In particular, Kollin would get out of his way to help me whenever I had a problem. Regarding infrastructure, the place is not really walking distance from pretty much anywhere, but there is a bus stop very close. Apartments are a bit old, but nothing really too bad. Overall, good place to live (even better if you have a car).
Hey Roberto,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience at Columbia Crossing. We take pride in providing excellent service and we are happy to hear you enjoyed your experience here. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Great unit for the price! Staff and maintenance are great. They are professional, personable, and quick to get something taken care of. The pool is small but clean and beautiful and the facility is well maintained and gated. The units could use some updates, but so far, we have not had any issues that have not been resolved within an hour or same-day. The walls and windows are thin (due to their age) but the neighbors are friendly and the staff will address noise complaints quickly and effectively. Yes, this is in an older part of town, yes there is crime, but as a woman who walks her dog 5+ times a day (and night) and hasn't good street sense, I feel generally safe. I love having the dog park within the gates and the surrounding neighborhoods are actually really quiet during the day. We always have plenty of parking and we never worry about anything being stolen from the bed of our trucks or from our apartment. *paint issues have been wonderfully addressed. Thanks guys!
Hi Anna,
Thank you for your review. We value all feedback and appreciate any ideas which will help to improve our community. We are happy to hear that our pool, dog play area, and parking have been valuable to you. We will definitely look into the wall paint suggestion and reach out to you on that. Thank you.
Positive experience: Very friendly and helpful staff. Any/all apartment complaints upon initial inspection were taken care of within 24 hours. My apartment was clean, spacious, and I have yet to have any complaints. The bathroom fan is surprisingly loud, and I'm not sure how i feel about the area, but overall I have enjoyed Columbia Crossings. CC is only ~2 miles from Mizzou, which is convenient if you're a student.
Hey Stephanie, thanks for the feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your move-in experience. We are happy to hear you are enjoying your apartment and our location. The office team will be reaching out to you regarding your bathroom fan. Our goal is to make Columbia Crossing a great place for all of our residents to call home, so please always feel free to reach out to our team via phone or email if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
Negative experience: Do NOT rent from these people!!
Hi Tiffany,
Hi Tiffany,
Thank you for the review. We’re sorry you feel this way. We wish things had been able to work out differently, but in order to continue providing quality service and a positive living experience for our residents, we took a necessary course of action. Thank you for your time.
Negative experience: Slum lords that will rob you blind.
Hi J,
Thank you for the review. We apologize for any issues you may be experiencing here at Columbia Crossing. We value service and resident feedback and would like to be able to discuss your issues and work towards a resolution. Please reach out to our office manager to set up a meeting. Thank you.
Positive experience: Yeah, it's a little older. But for me it has security, gated, solid maintenance and staff... and if anything, they've continually trended up since I moved in. And, if there is something I didn't like (vents were old and gross), they replaced. For the $, on a 5 point scale, it's a 10.
Hi Todd,
Thank you for the kind words. We pride ourselves on service and value resident feedback. We appreciate your residency and look forward to continuing to offer quality service at an affordable price.
Negative experience: I've been here over 3 years and it's really gone downhill. Just recently they mandated all their residents to pay electronically THROUGH THEIR SITE ONLY. Well lo and behold, it is the 1st after said announcement, and I can't make a payment because their site keeps crashing. I called the office about this and the only help they gave was to say "well it's only late after the 3rd." Nothing about what is going on or what they are doing to fix it, or even what happens if their site is still down on the 3rd. Also, residents here used to be respectful, but now they are moving all kinds of people who play loud music after midnight and people who don't cleanup after their dogs. Can't wait until my lease expires!
Hi Kara, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. Although, we do not own the payment site, we acknowledge there was a delay in payment on morning of first but was immediately remedied that afternoon. We would like to work towards a resolution on noise situation, so if you are willing, please reach out to us at (573) 474-6137 to discuss this further. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve
Fantastic experience: To whom it may concern, My experience as a tenant in Columbia Crossing has been nothing short of wonderful. The initial move-in process was reasonably simple, and I appreciate the background check all tenants must go through. Paying my rent online month-by-month makes things so very convenient, and there are no service fees. Management, staff, and maintenance crew are always attentive and courteous. Carroll Shern was my first contact in viewing the models last year, and she has been my GO-TO person when anything needs attention. I will add that Kenny, Collin, Travis, David, and all that I have contacted for support or service on the premises are ALL always pleasant. There is never a wait or delay for things that need to be fixed or resolved. Being a good neighbor means having good neighbors, and although the seasonal flight of students moving in and out can be annoying, it is to be expected for a college town. So when it comes to very affordable rent for amount of square footage living space and responsive management, it is worth it to me to stay here and enjoy this living community. Gratefully content!
Fantastic experience: Since my recent move into Columbia Crossing, I've had nothing but a great experience. Maintenence has been great and friendly. Neighbors are friendly. Kollin and Carrol have taken great care of me with the application process. Kollin checking in, making sure things with the apartment are good. So far so good! Great environment with great amenities! Crossing's apartment space is far greater then everything I've looked at for the money!
Positive experience: I don't know what somebody else is talking about with the police coming around. Since I've moved in about 4 months ago I've seen no cops around or have had any bed bug issues.... Or any insect issues for that matter.... Being from where I'm from when someone says that cops are around often, that means they are on scene like twice a week at the same general spot. Since I've moved in I've seen no such activity, And I'm a night owl! My neighbors have been nothing but Kind inviting and Carol&Collin (hope I spelled his name right... There are so many ways to spell both there names lol) have helped me out a lot when it comes to working with my financial situation.. PLUS! What do you mean saying they don't answer the phone professionally? I call these people at least 5 times a month and they always answer with the introduction of Columbia Crossing from morning till evening....Poor guys :-( I can only imagine how many calls they get in a day... all those sounds waves going through their brains.
Negative experience: their officers steal packages, why i know? my iphone was arrived but they told there is no package for me, after 2 weeks after i talked with fedex officer and get the prove that apt officer calvin signed for my packge. they told me there is the records of my package at the same day i called them for my package, but the officer called calvin said he is sure my gf took it(lol, its not impossible). the only thing logical is someone in the office took my packge, i am pretty sure is calvin steal it, and the manager said he "believe him" which mean he did believe us. sorry for my bad english, but it is not a good place to live.
Negative experience: My daughter stays there and their office woman Carol has been making threats to them and being rude to her at every chance she gets. She makes their experience there an unbearable one. She is supposed to be helping them yet she always says something negative. There apartment has been having issues and yet she makes it seem like they are the cause of all of the problems. They will be moving out as soon as possible if not sooner.
Positive experience: Great experience living there. Great new management and the neighbors are nice and great to live around.
Positive experience: I lived in Columbia Crossings last year and am now living here once again. I can tell a huge difference in this year. Management is so much more helpful and friendly than they were the previous year I lived here. Things seem to be taken care of as soon as possible and they are very responsive. Im impressed with the positive changes that have happened recently!
Negative experience: BED BUGS! DO NOT RENT! This place had bed bugs and they will charge YOU to get rid of them! If they can find a way to get out of paying for something they absolutely will. It was a miserable year.
Positive experience: Hi, I am a current resident at Columbia Cross Apartments and I would like to say in my honest opinion that this place really isn't as bad as what everyone is saying it is, of course I have a middle apartment that is. I can understand people having basement level flooding as it seems this area holds moisture quite a bit. When I first was interested I saw the model apartment which was decked out with nice furniture which would be expected right? I asked to see a regular apartment and it was the same layout as the model apartment. Onto other aspects of the living. Having someone living above you you will hear them from time to time. As long as you don't have a person stomping around, which I have personal experiences with, you will only hear louder noises. It's the apartment life you gotta deal with it. It's not the housing offices fault the neighbors like to do jumping jacks. The staff has always been really nice and quick to fix things that go wrong. I smacked the towel rack in the bathroom with my shoulder and nearly ripped the thing out of the wall and it was fixed the same day. Office people are real nice as well. Never had any problems talking with them. The location. Now I will say the location is on a worse off side of town, but the price is a lot cheaper than anything on the south side of town AND you can have pets here. I can't understand paying $200 more for an apartment with 1 bedroom less (I have a 2bed/1bath) and less living space. The community is gated at night which gives me a little more secure feeling I suppose, even though it is sometimes a nuisance to get them open at night. I guess overall what I am trying to get across is, all the people who have written reviews have had a basement apartment and I would like to give my opinion of the other options available and my experience has been mostly great. I forgot to mention that half the building I live in has single pane and the other half has double pane windows and the single pane leaks like air real badly. I went to Lowes and got some insulating kits and haven't had a problem with them after that.
Negative experience: I have to echo the person who said not to lease a basement apartment. Mine is now flooding for the third time. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that the maintenance staff has always been quick to fix my issues, especially when they were emergent (like the two times that my heater has stopped working). You hear everything going on in the other units in your building, too. There's even a section of my closet that I can look up and see the unit above mine. The model they show before you sign your lease looks nothing like the actual units. They forget to call me when I have a package delivered to the leasing office. At one point, there were 4 arrests in one week just in my BUILDING. The insulation is so terrible that my heater has to run almost constantly just to keep the unit at 67 degrees. I could get past the bad insulation and sketchy neighbors if the facilities like the plumbing weren't so absolutely terrible. Summary: just don't do it.
Negative experience: DO NOT RENT!!! They will show you a model apartment that looks absolutely nothing like the apartment you will move in to. My apartment's walls are dinged up, the carpet is destroyed and there is a distinct motel smell that you cannot get rid of. They take months to get around to repairing things, the management is made up of the most incompetent people around. They say they do background checks but based on the frequency of the visits of law enforcement, they do not care what criminals move in next door. If you are dumb enough to rent from here, do NOT rent the basement apartments, they have flooded twice so far this year. Dangerous area, dangerous neighbors, and incompetent employees. 0 out of 5 stars. Consider another management company for your renting needs.
Negative experience: I rented a one bedroom apartment. In the beginning it was ok but they increased the rent and started charging for stuff for their mistakes. Service is good and quick but I hope your okay if your stuff gets stolen from the storage units. Then they blamed it on the neighbors!! Neighbors leave their trash out in the building for days and it stinks.I complained several times. Girls yelling and fighting outside on the streets at night. I was happy when my lease expired and informed them two months before that I was leaving. They called me half a month later saying I never completed the paper work so they will charge me extra. When told I was never informed of the paperwork, they simply said too bad...I have to pay that extra rent. Do you own research but find a better place with real amenities. I do not recommend this place.
