Fantastic experience: This company was very lovely. Kent was a nice landlord and the brothers were always helpful in maintenance. I rented for 1 year and every time there was an issue, they always responded accordingly and dealt with the issue promptly. Kent is also very straight forward as well and makes sure things are done simply.

Fantastic experience: Rented during college at UWO. Place was appropriately priced and Kent & crew was always responsive when issues arose. Would recommend over some of the others in Oshkosh!

Negative experience: Would never suggest this as a rental, they add on things dont give u a copy of lease say one thing then try and change the whole deal get the run around from the owner who u never meet u meet everyone else outside of him who u are in contact with through text and charge for things that were not even the case as paying for 2 crisper drawers that were broken when my family moved in and told 5 dollars a day per day for late fee and then they try saying that it's 5% of rent an the 5 dollars per day so if u are one day late it would be 115 dollars for being 7 day late

Fantastic experience: I have rented from Star properties for a year now! I have had no issues with them being great landlords! I was looking for a single family home he only had a lower apartment available but told me if I delt with this for the year once I was settled i could pick any house he had available for the following year! I picked my house within a coupe months and now here we are next week moving into a 5 bedroom house that I absolutely love!! Any issues we had at our currently rental they were very prompt on taking care of kent and his guys are great people!! UPDATE 9/30 we have been in our new rental for 2 months there was a few things that I noticed needed a little attention after we moved in kents team fixed everything promptly and even got me a brand new stove I absolutely loveee the lil things we love when we age lol!!

Fantastic experience: I rented with Star properties for 4 years and had a great experience. I stayed in 3 of Star’s houses. Each move in day the houses were clean like you’d hope, and there was never any delays like I had heard from friends that rented through other companies. Kent was great at answering his phone quickly and fixing any issues that arose. I couldn't recommend Star properties enough. The price of rent was more than affordable and their houses are newly renovated with great amenities. The houses are cared for and the service I experienced was above and beyond. Houses get leased for the following school year early into the current school year. With that said, it’s essential to look at houses early to ensure you get the place you like.

Negative experience: I would not recommend even looking at a property through this company. Rent is ridiculously high for college housing. Rent is charged by person and is paid in 3 month installments. Doesn't matter how many people you have living there the Rent goes up with each one added to the lease. My fiance and I were paying 1300 a month to live in the lower half of a run down decrepit old house, where the upstairs neighbors never bothered to lock or even close at times the shared front/ side doors.

Positive experience: Called letting them know a tree fell over and was resting on one of their houses in the neighborhood! They had a crew evaluating and taking the tree down that day!

Negative experience: Honestly when we were going to pick up a couch and the guy didn't answer the door and on the door it said stars properties we called and they were closed so they could help us and the guy said he was passed out drunk

Negative experience: I usually never leave reviews, but felt I needed to for Star Properties. I have lived in two different houses of Star Properties for a total of 3 years. We have had multiple issues with Kent and Vern, but I'll just name a few. First off, when we moved into our house there was a pile of dog poop in my room, a couch in the living room and various other things laying around the house. It wasn't clean. We had to work around this to move our things in. Secondly, Star Properties will rob you on your security deposit point blank. It doesn't matter how well you cleaned, or if you didn't put anything on the walls throughout the entire year. They will still charge you for paint and cleaning supplies even though what they're fixing is just normal wear and tear. Every year we've gotten over 1,000 dollars taken out of our security deposits. I also had an incident once where everything was thrown away in our basement during our lease while we still lived in the property because "it looked like no one had been down there for years" per Kent. When I confronted Kent about it, he said they were the ones that threw everything away but wouldn't admit they threw away all of my clothes. He also never apologized or reimbursed me for it. The only reason that I gave Star Properties one star is because they let me keep my mom's senior dog when she had to give her up. I'm fed up with their business and I'm super glad to not be living there anymore. If you want a stress-free environment for college that won't rob you I suggest looking elsewhere. Also, if you look lower on the reviews, Kent Staerkel reviewed his own business five stars so I think that just goes to show the integrity of this business.

They get back to you in a timely manner, are very understanding, and are quick to fix anything when you have a problem in your house. Kent is always willing to talk with you to work something out.

Fantastic experience: Very fair. Went through several properties with my son and their’s were by far the cleanest and most updated. Handled issues in a timely fashion and responsive to any questions/concerns. In hearing my son’s experiences I was happy we made the choice we did. Wish I could say the same for my bank!

Negative experience: My sins have rented from them and it is a constant fight to get security deposit back. One of the houses was infested with mice so bad that 3 mice were caught on one sticky pad. I called landlord and he never did take care of it. Feel they bully college kids by showing up and threaten the kids.

Negative experience: Moved in in September 2018 and our landlord Kent, specifically, barged into our house banging on all the doors in a estranged manner and I was the only one to come out and continued to yell and swear at us in front of the day care next door about a couch that was on the porch. He wanted it removed, but little did he know this couch has been on the porch for almost 2 and a half years. How do I know? My girlfriend moved in in 2017 with the same couch on the porch. He sold it to us with this on their and now is getting bashed by the city, but will take it out on his current residents because he did not take care of this incident two years. Ago. Such a scummy person and place. In addition, I moved into my own sub unit of a house with a different address and not affiliated in any way to the main unit that got cited for parking on the grass. Now he wants to go after each unit even though we signed separate leases. This company is toxic and has problems with their landlords.
