Fantastic experience: Char Berry is an amazing real estate agent!! She helped us so much - would recommend to anyone. Thanks - very much appreciated!!
Thank you so much for the kind words and recommendation! We're thrilled to hear that Char Berry provided such great support throughout your real estate journey. We'll be sure to pass along your appreciation—she’ll be happy to hear it!
Negative experience: If you are a homeowner looking for someone to manage your property, by all means, go with Rogue. They will gut your renters upon leaving, not taking any consideration for normal wear and tear. If you are a renter, steer clear of anything managed by them. They will have you under their thumb. No amount of reasoning or compromise will be tolerated by the spiteful office manager, Paula. I lived in my place for over 8 years. When I asked to see how normal wear and tear was factored into the equation, that question was completely ignored. Unfortunately, Rogue took over managing after I had already lived there for 5 years, so I had to sign their rental agreement or move. Basically, when you sign a rental agreement with them, the move out cleaning list that is included as part of the agreement, will ensure that your place will be in better condition for the next person, than it was when you moved in. I cleaned for 7 hours, knowing I didn't get to everything on the list, but thinking it would alleviate some of the cost of bringing in professionals. They're going to bring in professional cleaners regardless, redo everything you already did, plus whatever you didn't get done, of course, and you will pay an outrageous rate for all of it, so don't bother. And just to give you an idea of how they will cut back on their expenses, but still charge you an exorbitant amount; after living there for over 8 years, they only "touched up" the paint, according to documents I requested from them. Note: I have always gotten back every penny of my rental deposits before this incident.
Negative experience: I will never even consider renting from Rouge again. We applied and walked through one of their properties here in Redmond and we're very interested but the woman (I forget her name) who gave us the walk through literally said to us" I wouldn't even bother putting in an application if u don't have perfect credit ." We couldn't believe this incredibly rude remark. The other staff was rude and act like they are doing u a favor.
Ariana,
I think you might have the wrong Property Management Company. Rogue does not have an application on file for you or have you on our showings calendar.
We only offer self-showings, so our team would not have shown you a property. What property are you referring to? Credit is important but we honestly look at the whole picture, credit, criminal, rental history, and income. We invite you to view our website to see if there is something that you would be interested in.
Fantastic experience: I’ve had a great working relationship with Rogue Property Management. I’m a landlord with rentals in Roseburg and anytime I need help filling vacancies they are quick to send various handymen and contractors in a timely manner! I would highly recommend Rogue Real Estate!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic property management company. Matt Mason and his team do a fantastic job responding to any issues that the tenants face and the main office teams in redmond are amazingly professional and friendly. easily the best property management team I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
Negative experience: My experience with this company was very poor. My girlfriend and I make over 160k a year. We applied for a home to rent and were the first to apply. We filled out all the paperwork and waited. After a couple weeks we had to reach out to them because we had not heard anything back. Emails went unanswered, phone calls to return our calls were ignored. When we finally did get to talk with someone we were told they were finishing up our paperwork. This is where they screw you! They don't operate on a first come first serve basis like ALL other rental companies. Rogue takes as many applicants as they can and the money to apply from everyone that has applied. This is why it takes so long to hear anything back and big bucks for them. We offered to pay the full year lease upfront for the home we applied for. Neither of us have any debt, and again we were the first to apply. We were told they selected another candidate. So after weeks of trying to get a answer, and applications fees for us both, it all was just a waste of our time and money. If a place is listed with Rogue Real Estate we wont even bother to look at it. I highly recommend using another company then to try and jump through their loopholes.
Hello Chris, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you had a poor experience with our company. We understand that finding a home to rent is stressful and time-consuming. I looked into your application and, while it did take a few extra days to process, I do not see where there were any long periods of time without communication from our team. Since you changed the property you were applying for two different times, and added a co-applicant, it took a little longer than the standard processing time. We disclose our screening process in our screening criteria which is clearly posted online and on our application. The reason you were denied is not the same as what you referenced in your review, I recommend you review your denial letter. Our company does not make money on application fees, the fee goes to third-party background and credit check services and partially covers the labor cost for processing and reference checks.
Fantastic experience: I have been renting from Rogue for years and they have been so helpful and personable. I’m very grateful to them and pleased with how they handle business.
Negative experience: Rogue Real Estate Property Management gave me the most infuriating, unprofessional real estate experience of my life. I was approved for a rental property on August 26th after a very prolonged application process. However, they refused to give me a tour — in-person or virtual. They even refused to send me more pictures of the property (the listing only showed parts of the home and property). They claimed they didn't do showings of any kind because of COVID. Current tenants are set to move out 9/30 — just four days after I had been approved. Understanding COVID sensitivities, I suggested they take more pictures —or give me a virtual walk-through — after tenants move out in just a few days. This would to avoid any COVID issues. They refused and demanded $3350 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours with no exceptions. "A lot of people rent sight unseen," the woman said. "Heaven help them," I replied. I refused to give them a deposit for a home they flat-out refused to show to me. There's no way I am giving you $3350 for a home I haven't even laid eyes on. The long and short is: The housing market is hot near Bend. So this company has discovered they don't have to lift a single finger, they don't have to perform even the tiniest bit of customer service and they'll still make money. If Rogue Real Estate refuses to even snap pictures of a property, I shudder to think how they treat their tenants during their lease. Shame on you, Rogue Real Estate, for doing even less than the bare minimum. Show some respect to your prospective tenants and at least try — just even a tiny bit. Sending pictures of the home to the approved applicant before the deposit is sent is standard operating procedure. You should be ashamed.
Hello Nick, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that we were unable to meet you needs. Unfortunately, when a property is occupied it can be difficult to show. We also would not have the ability to provide a virtual tour or additional photos for the same reason. We understand your hesitation on renting sight unseen which is why we clearly state our screening criteria and application process up front so applicants can decide if the want to apply. To say that our team does not "lift a single finger" is a completely inaccurate statement. We have a team of dedicated hard working individuals that take excellent care of our clients weather they are an applicant, tenant or property owner. We wish you luck in your housing search and recommend you ask if the property is available to view prior to applying since many companies list properties before the current tenant has vacated. Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you well.
Fantastic experience: We recommend Curtis and Char with Rogue Real estate for any home sale or purchase. We sold our house with them in less than a day! They were insightful, friendly and professional.
Thank you for your recommendation, Andrew! We shared your words with Curtis Endicott and Char Berry and they were beyond grateful to have been able to help you with your home sale. “Thanks for the glowing review! You guys were a pleasure to work with!”
Negative experience: NEVER EVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! Everyone in the office is rude! The blond older lady will sit outside your place and watch you for hours! Avoid this company at all cost!
Hi there James, we think you may have written your review about some other property management company. We definitely do not have team members sit outside properties watching tenants. And we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service!
Negative experience: Rogue Real Estate is just like any other property manager I have run across. They are in the business of cash flowing their clients' properties. ************RENTERS BEWARE!*********** We lived in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1500SF house for over 5 years with me, my wife, and 5 children. Our experience was fine as far as rent increases go, but we knew we would be in for a treat when we decided to move out after talking with their maintenance guy. apparently they charge $55 base + $3 (labor and material) per outlet and light switch cover plate. If you don't replace one cover, you're down $58. We spent the better part of a week off and on before we moved and then 2 solid days between me and my wife cleaning and repairing nicks and dings in the walls. I am a painting contractor so I know how to prep a surface. Every single pinhole was filled, spot primed, and textured. We received an email stating they planned on painting anyway since we had been in the house for over 5 years. We left that place in as good condition as you could get with 2 adults and 5 children living in it! All it needed was some detail cleaning and paint. Maybe an hour outside straightening up the yard SINCE WE LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. I have never lost a deposit in all my years of renting. Not once. These guys dinged us on every turn. We changed the furnace filters 1-2 days before we vacated. We changed every bulb in the house. We made sure to replace all outlet and switch cover plates that were missing or broken. We replaced screens. THEY STILL CHARGED US $1,746.25 FOR A 1500 SF HOUSE! These people are thieves and dishonest when it comes to security deposits. Everything we left would be considered "normal wear and tear" by any realistic person with half a brain. See you clowns in court!
Fantastic experience: Speaking from a tenant perspective this company is doing a great job. We've been in our home for 6 months now. The tenant portal for payments is easy and convenient. The company is easy to get ahold of and communicate with. Lastly, I wanted to say our our fridge went out recently and within 12 hours of the call to rogue a new fridge was installed. Thanks Rogue!
Thank you for your kind words, Ben! We love going above and beyond for our clients, and we love it even more when our service is great enough to garner such a splendid review. We'll be sure to share it with our staff, and let them know you enjoyed your experience with Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management!
Fantastic experience: Moving and finding somewhere to rent is never an easy experience. I called over a handful of property management companies during this process and Rogue was the most responsive. They always answer the phone and answer any question I have with ease.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Allison. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. At Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management, we are committed to providing everyone with dependable, exceptional service. We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we succeeded.
Fantastic experience: Staff is very friendly on the phone and provide quick and expert responses . We live out of of Central Oregon but communication via phone and/or email has worked well . We can rely on having our rental properties being well managed. Thank you and keep the good work!
We're so glad to hear that you had a great experience with Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management. Thank you for taking the time to share your appreciation. We appreciate you back!
Fantastic experience: Let’s me start by saying I lived in one of the properties that was managed by Rogue. I owned a home previously and had never rented in my life. So it was a big change. One that was made as effortless as possible by Rogue. They helped me out so much from the beginning, Jordan was seriously the best! I remember talking to her about my application and she called me promptly letting me know it was all good. At the townhouse we rented it was clean, everything worked. We never had any problems. I will say this it was creepy that in the year we lived there I only saw 2 spiders, (I’m not making it up, 2!) i wish I knew what they did to make that happen, especially since I hate spiders. You couldn’t hear the neighbors, at all. And in the process of moving out there was a hiccup in the plans, and let me just say Jordan and the rest of the crew were very very empathetic...and I’m very thankful for all their help. Best place to rent from.
Thank you for your glowing review, Jesica! We love helping our tenants feel at home, and we love it even more when our service is great enough to garner such kind words. We’ve shared your review with Jordan and it completely made her day. She truly is amazing, and we’re grateful to have her on our team. Thanks for letting us know you enjoyed your experience with Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management!
Negative experience: I rented a property with this company when Marr Management transitioned into Rouge Realty. From 2011 to 2019 I was a loyal tenant and raised 2 children in that residence. In 8 years, we watched as our rent increased year after year, and we continued to pay our rent. As "normal wear and tear" occurred in this house, we had issues like leaks from the dishwasher, refrigerator not working for days only to get a repair that would soon fail again and we would lose our food again. Broken disposal that would in turn get "repaired". They would tell us that the "owner" did not want to replace these items. This also included carpet that was not new when we moved in and therefore 8 years of wear and tear on the carpet led to poor carpet. As the house became older we did not get support to upkeep the household. We decided to move out and no longer live in these conditions. When we left, we painted the whole house interior, replaced all the blinds. We had indeed left with issues, doors were damaged and some items were left in the garage. However, overall what I believed to be normal wear and tear and what they determined were completely different. I didn't have problems with obvious charges, but when I saw that "Move out-Landscape clean up tenant liability" was almost $200, and "Move out cleaning" was almost $800, with no detail of these charges, I was floored. Because there is a renter bias on "wear and tear" we will never win a battle on this. It is not worth the argument in court. ORS 90.300 7b says"The landlord may charge a reasonable hourly rate for the landlord’s own performance of cleaning or repair work." "To repair damages to the premises caused by the tenant, not including ordinary wear and tear." Take this how you must, unfortunately this is only one of a few property management companies in the area, they have many rental properties and have connections in the community, I hope nobody has the same experience as I did.
We're sorry that you had a negative experience with our company. We require a thorough cleaning upon move-out.
When you rent from us, we want your property to be completely clean before you make it your home. We want your rental to be fresh as new so that you can move in stress-free. We pride ourselves on providing impeccable rental properties in Central Oregon, and clear communication in our customer service.
We wish you the best of luck on your journey, and safe travels.
Negative experience: My boyfriend and I applied for a property. We were fully aware of all the requirements for the application screening process. My boyfriend and I put in our rental history on our applications and we had a co-signer on stand by for after we put ours in. We didn’t put in enough information so they contacted us. I asked the gentleman, who had seemed helpful at the time, if we needed a co-signer just to check. He said no we should be fine. So we didn’t have our co signer apply thank god. We put in the application and a week later we were denied for insufficient rental history. I was a little confused so I called and asked if we could reapply with a co-signer the the guy said hmm that’s interesting and checked. He then came back and said it also might have been because our dog. I have a 9 month old lab pit bull terrier mix that weighs 33-34lbs. And according to the listing she met the requirements of a small dog so I asked to speak to the manager. This woman was a witch. She said that we didn’t pay attention enough and it was our fault. The lady told me we didn’t read the screening criteria correctly. And that even if we did put in for a co-signer we’d be out that money too because that property doesn’t allow for a co signer which wasn’t listed in the property add. She just kept telling em we didn’t check the screening criteria and talked to me like I was stupid. I told her we did and we even verified with an employee about our co signer. The woman then told me it was because my dog was was a pit bull puppy and then seconds later told me they don’t discriminate. They refused to give me my money back. I even asked for the information of someone who was in charge of her and she refused to give it to me saying she was the general manager of all of rogue. The dog age, and breed restriction, and the inability to have a co-signer should have been listed for the property. They stole my money and if I had put in my co signers application we would have been put 170$. They didn’t care all they cared about was that they got my money by lying and were keeping it. Had I know about tang of those three things I would not have applied. They stole my money. Don’t work with them.
We are sorry you had a negative experience with our company. Unfortunately, the property owner has the right to deny applicants for not meeting the published screening criteria. Each applicant must confirm they have read the screening criteria before beginning the application process. You can review these criteria again here: https://www.roguerealestate.com/screening-criteria/ We wish you well in your housing search.
Negative experience: I am posting/venting here in hopes of getting some kind of response from the property manager at Antler Ave. I applied over 2 weeks ago for a unit and still have not received a response on the decision for my application. I have left voicemails and emailed the PM directly and still have not heard back. Funny thing is, my co-applicant received a response that their app was denied, but I have not still. When you pay $120 (myself, co-applicant, and dog's pet profile) in application fees, the very least a PM company can do is inform you of their decision. Coming from a property management background, I'm frustrated with the non-responsiveness and lack of professionalism this shows. If I am not eligible to move into the property, I need to be informed of why. This company uses an outside party to screen applicants and they make a profit off of all the applications they receive. I asked the application department if my pet's size would be accepted. They did not answer that question and stated that my co-applicant needed to finish his application. His denial letter stated my pet's size was not accepted. Many property management companies will screen one at a time, on a first come, serve basis. This company instead makes a profit off of all the application fees they collect, so beware before you apply. As much as I wanted the home I applied for, I am relieved I won't be leasing here. If the property manager can't respond to multiple messages, that's a good indicator of how they will respond to you when you have any issues in your apartment.
We're sorry that you had a negative experience with our company, Jamie. Each applicant must confirm they have read the screening criteria before beginning the application process. You can review these criteria again here: https://www.roguerealestate.com/screening-criteria/
We sent an adverse action letter to you on July 1st which outlined the unmet requirements of your application. We value your privacy, so if you have any questions about this letter, please contact our office to discuss. We wish you well in your housing search.
Fantastic experience: This review is specifically for Char Berry. In the past I worked with many Realtors to find my new home. My biggest gripe was lack of communication. With Char she is kind, patient, and knowlegable. She assisted me every step of the way to make sure escrow was on track and we had all documents in order. I highly recommend Char as she went above and beyond with communicating every detail with me. After the completion of the transaction she reached out to make sure everything was delivered as promised and to make sure I was happy. I am more than satisfied. Thank you Char!
Thank you for your review Anthony! We'll let Char know how well-regarded her communication is, and that you enjoyed the care she took to represent your best interests at all times. Thank you for highly suggesting Rogue Real Estate!
Negative experience: I waited 9 days for final desion had great references got the run around if you dont have established credit dont waste your time, I have 5 Mark's on my credit that are over 5 years old all my Bill's are paid on time no chance given to those with low credit scores if you havent established credit or have and Mark's I wouldn't waste your time if you have questions takes them forever to get back and the screening team doesn't speak very fluent English so I had a hard time understanding the process I'm on hud equally housing opportunity dont feel like I was even given a second look nice property's but not for people that dont make a pretty penny I guess
We're sorry that you had a negative experience with our company. We do require each applicant to read the screening criteria before beginning the application process. You can review them again here: https://www.roguerealestate.com/screening-criteria/ Among the requirements are minimum credit scores. As a company, we do business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law and provide Equal Opportunity in Housing. We wish you well in your housing search.
Negative experience: They are a RIP off they use sub companies that get all personal info and are not based in usa be carfull
Hello Dwayne, I'm sorry we were unable to help you with your housing needs. Our staff works closely with a well known and reputable company to conduct screening of criminal activity, credit, rental history, and employment for each applicant. If any of the applicants or co-applicants do not pass our screening criteria, all applicants in the group are declined. Our screening criteria is provided at the beginning of each application, you can also review it on our website at https://www.roguerealestate.com/screening-criteria/. We do business in accordance with all laws and do not discriminate. We wish you luck in your housing search.
Fantastic experience: This is not the first time I’ve worked with Char Berry, and I know it will not be the last. She is amazing! Her knowledge base is vast, her selling skills are superior, and her personality makes the entire transaction a blast! I have never met an agent that was able to sell my properties so fast or so smoothly. She creates lots of traffic and can sell your home quickly! The thing I appreciate the most, is that she handled every detail – we did not have to worry about anything on our end, other that signing! Char Berry is worth her weight in gold!!
Thank you for your fabulous review. We love working with Char for the very same reasons you listed - she is always positive, professional, and proactive. We'll let her know how greatly you valued your experience with her!
Fantastic experience: What a great property management company to work with. I rented this home while still living in Portland and they couldn’t have made it easier. Every time I had an issue with the property such as a repair they were very professional and timely in getting things taken care of. I would highly recommend going through Rogue Property Management for your next rental!
Thank you for your kind words, Brenda! We love going above and beyond for our clients, and we love it even more when our service is great enough to garner such a splendid review. We'll be sure to share it with our staff, and let them know you enjoyed your experience with Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management!
Fantastic experience: Char Berry was my real estate agent for purchasing a home in Redmond. She was friendly and knowledgeable from day one, which was perfect to set me at ease right away. But it only got BETTER! She is such a joy to spend the day with, filled with great conversation and wonderful humor, in addition to her extensive knowledge of the area and eye for detail in the homes we toured. I felt I was in the hands of a trusted friend and that she had my best interests in the forefront of her mind. And, indeed, that is exactly the case. I found a great home at a great price that Char helped me negotiate. My experience with her was so good that I'm having her help me find an income property in the same region. I recommend Char from Rogue 100%. Thanks Char! You're the best! Linda and Sven
Thank you for your review, Linda and Sven! Char Berry is indeed friendly, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. That's why we love having her as part of Team Rogue. We're happy to hear how she helped you, and we'll be certain to pass your praise along!
Negative experience: Their employees give false information which resulted in a family losing a home but refused to take ownership for any of it. Do not rent from them, they are very unprofessional and rude especially to “kids” as that’s all they called us the whole 2 years we were there. Bad bad service.
Fantastic experience: The ladies in the office are outstanding, very polite and sincere. The best professionalism I have ever experienced in reality and property management. They all need and deserve a raise so you don't lose them. God bless you all
Thank you for your review of Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management, Miranda! We conveyed your appreciation to Paula and the rest of our team, and it totally made their day. Exemplary customer service is what we strive to provide to all of our clients. We're happy to hear we succeeded in meeting that goal for you, and we're grateful for your feedback!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely awesome staff, above and beyond expectations from a rental agency. Overall great service experienced with this rental agency in central oregon.
Thank you for your kind words, Glen! We love going above and beyond for our clients, and we love it even more when our service is great enough to garner such a splendid review. Thank you for your kind words, Megan! We've shared your review with the team here at Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management and you've brightened our day. We're glad to have been of service!
Fantastic experience: I have worked with different Property management offices. I would say by far that Paula and her staff at Rogue are the best at getting things done and answering questions. They are very professional! I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Thank you for your kind words, Lori! Exemplary customer service and professionalism are what we strive to provide to all of our clients. We're happy to hear we succeeded in meeting that goal for you, and we're grateful for your recommendation!
Fantastic experience: Rogue Real Estate Management is awesome! They were very communicative and efficient in helping me find a place to live. Everyone was also extremely friendly, which is always a plus:-) I am very happy and highly recommend Rogue Real Estate.
Thank you for your wonderful review, Kathryn! Our Rogue Real Estate Redmond team is grateful to hear we've met and exceeded your expectations. We're happy we could help you find your new home.
Negative experience: Will NEVER reach out to them again. If I wanted fantasy I’d watch television. I was told stories all day long, about mistakes and about mishandling, never an apology and never anything else than a “we will call you back” attitude. Spoiler alert! No call backs, no return calls. I reached out several times afterward out of good grace- only to be told a new story with the same outcome. I felt like I was participating in a psychology experiment where the customer service comes from the customer while the company acts like you owe them something. So get ready to be patient with the impatient. Don’t bother.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. Nice and accommodating.
Thank you for taking the opportunity to review us! We pride ourselves on great customer service, and we're glad it's showing through. We're always happy to hear we've exceeded expectations.
Fantastic experience: Although I was denied tenancy, I still found them timely, responsive, patient, professional, and friendly throughout the application process.
Caitlin, thank you so much for taking the time to give us a review. It is nice to hear that our Team was responsive and kind through your process. Good luck and thanks again for your courtesy. Linda
Negative experience: Horrible customer service. Had an attitude that they were better than my family and I. Will never rent from them and for anyone using them to rent you are missing out on a lot of good tenants because of the office staff. Edit: After reading a lot of these reviews I see a lot of people with the same issues of unprofessional attitudes and staff. The other thing I'm noticing is the replies from "the owner" even the responses are condescending and telling the poster they are wrong. I'm sorry but that's not how you manage in a customer based business. You don't diminish the customers complaint, especially on a public forum, even if you think it's completely wrong, you acknowledge, apologize and offer to improve or look into it. Giving another excuse when the complaint is about staff giving excuses and not doing their jobs is just bad management and bad business.
I'm sorry you had such a poor experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and will use it to enhance our customer service training.
Negative experience: I was highly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and courtesy that my brother and I were shown from this company. We rented a duplex from Rogue that had several minor issues that we reported as soon as they became known. The owner never communicated with us, so many of them were left unresolved. Rogue then tried to pin those issues on us, not only keeping our entire deposit but charging us extra on top of it. We strove to be good tenants in the two years that we stayed there, always paying rent on time, keeping the place clean, etc., so it felt like a slap in the face to be told how horrible we were. When we tried to dispute some of the many things listed that were not our fault, they were rude and unwilling to even hear us out. I can safely say that I will never do business with this company ever again.
Kendra,
I was sorry to hear of your disappointment in our staff and services. Rogue does strive to give the best experience to each of our clients (tenants and owners). In order to do that, they must have consistency in what shape rentals are in when our tenants move in. So that means that when move out occurs, any damages that are done, whether it is wear and tear, cleaning or missing garage door openers (an example), it is the responsibility of the tenants that are vacating.
Once again, it is never our intention that you felt you were not treated respectfully.
Linda
Negative experience: A exercise in futility & scamming. This establishment was very much a closed book and in many ways lied by omission. I recently applied along with a friend of mine, but was disappointed. I have a career and am well paid as is my friend. Our applications were accepted, but that same day the property was rented. I wondered how could this mb? It must be a mistake. It was not, and my money was wasted. I considered taking legal action or at least reporting it. You see, I applied first but my friends application was accepted a week later after he did it the night before. They requested my application and I replied I had already done it so I checked my bank account and no transaction for the fee had taken place. In the few moments I noticed my fee had been processed and then I received an email saying the property had already been rented. The process of renting is not quick. The renters must have seen the property and applied as well. yet when I asked if anyone was ahead of us the woman showing me the property said, "no". Are they really that strapped for cash or is it a miscommunication between the screening company and the real estate company? The service was below par and I do not recommend. Has anyone ever seen a wealthy child in their teens who is completely oblivious to the world around them? This was the service quality, empty, numb, childish, and a misrepresentation of the truth. I wish the rest of you well
Hello Dust, I apologize that you feel our application process was unfair. What you described by no means reflects the way we do business. Unlike some companies, we never charge an application fee until you are in first position to be screened. I was unable to find your name in our system so I could research further (maybe it was not under Dust King?). I would ask that you contact me directly at [email protected] so I can look into it for you. If you were charged a fee but not screened for an available property, you would be due a refund.
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience renting a home through Rogue. There were a couple issues with communication during a period of staffing changes, from my understanding, but everything ended up resolved. They are diligent in their tenant approval process, but for good reason...they manage nice homes, and want people who will treat those residences as their own. Take care of the property, communicate with the office, follow the move-out check list, and you won’t have any problems. We are grateful for having had a wonderful home upon relocating to Redmond, thanks to Rogue, and I would refer anyone needing a rental to check them out.
Keirstin,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking time to write a review. It was nice to hear that you felt our staff were helpful and resolved any communication issues that were experienced early on in your transaction.
We appreciate our clients, tenants and property owners alike, and do what we can to offer great customer service. Thanks again for your time.
Linda
Negative experience: Paula was the rudest property manager I have ever had to deal with. Hung up on me multiple times, lied about policies and renters qualification guidelines, just completely disrespectful. Horrible communication, absolutely no compassion for tenants, and no customer service skills whatsoever! 0 stars Would do them justice. I have never had such a bad experience with ANY business in my lifetime.
Lacey Kay,
I would like to start by thanking you for taking the time to write a review. My apologies if you felt one of our staff members was rude to you. We strive to be polite and empathetic to all of our clients, that includes tenants as well as our property owners.
Having said that, we also have laws and housing policies that we must adhere to. The responses that we give directly correlate to those policies and practices. When information received is different than the actual situation, we act accordingly and as timely as possible for everyone's benefit. Sometimes it is uncomfortable and in that case we try to be clear, even in situations that are not clear. Sometimes that can end in mediation or even eviction.
The application that any property management company takes is based on legitimate information with full disclosure. That means that the tenant must fully disclose who and what will be residing in the rented property. Anyone over 18 must go through the same process. If the tenant sub-lets, that must be agreeable with the owner, as based on an application, credit and background check.
We do our best to take care of the needs of our tenants by doing inspections, maintaining properties as needed and, of course, finding the most fitting property for them based on their needs. However, our property owners have needs too and we must provide the best management services to them ensuring their property will be maintained and protected from abuse or non-rent payment.
Once again, I offer my sincere apologies if our staff seemed rude. In looking at the situation I am sure that it was uncomfortable for all parties. At the same time I would like to say we do not expect any of our staff to be berated by anyone calling names and/or raising their voices, just as we would expect our staff not to respond in that manner either.
Linda
Negative experience: I have never been so disappointed to go inside an office to be helped as I was today at Rogue Realty in Redmond, Oregon. I tried to get all the information, that I would need to ask the right questions about their rentals and all I got for that effort was distain and rudeness. I asked for an application only to be told that they Only Do That Online, and if you don't have a computer you can come into the office and use their computer. Really so I would have to come to your office to fill out an application on your computer, meanwhile I would have to bring in any paperwork needed for the online process? That didn't make much sense and the lady behind the counter had a look on hef face that screamed what kind of white trash are you to not have a computer. Meanwhile I asked about the need to have to have renters insurance to be able to rent any of their properties. If you don't have a car with insurance then it can't just be added to my policy. I have to know the address that I get approval for before I can get renters insurance. When I told her that I do not have a car therefore I cant just add it to my policy. Her reply was "oh you mean you don't have homeowners insurance already?" On what part of me asking to RENT A PROPERTY leads you to think I am a former home owner. And then she says "well if you dont already have a policy then we would need to have you get renters insurance before we rent to you." Wow I feel like I might have already said that. The kicker came from my question about the Deposit To Hold and how much was it, since it should be separate from your actual security deposit. It states that if you don't move in within 7 days of giving the deposit to hold then they can keep that Deposit To Hold, since they had to take the property off the market. Again I totally understood this having just spent 2 days on the internet learning about everything I would need to rent an apartment. Everything I read said that Deposit to Hold and Security deposit are 2 totally different things, as one is security that you will move in and the other is security that you don't destroy the property. I was informed by the woman behind the counter that indeed their Deposit to Hold "is" the Security deposit and that If I don't move in by the end of the 7th day they would keep all of the SECURITY deposit. When I tried to tell her that wasn't right, that I understood the need for deposit to hold since they would have to take the property off the market but that it should be a smaller portion compared to the security deposit, again it insures I rent the property and the other one insures I don't damage the property. She again explained that the Deposit to Hold was non refundable and the security is refunded dependant on the condition of the property. Again I was treated like I was stupid and to stop asking questions that were way above my intelligence level. Having recently been approved for Social Security due to excessive depression and anxiety, this total experience made me go right back to that " you are to stupid to do anything" mentality. It was hard enough trying to figure out how I was going to gather the $2400 or more to move in, but to then be told that $1500 would be taken away if anything happened to disrupt their renting the property. I am pretty sure they wouldn't be out that much money by taking it off the market for 7 days. I totally agree with having a Deposit that insures that you will indeed move into the property? However that amount should not be the equivalent of 2 months rent on the property. And it should be separate from the Security Deposit again because one you don't get back and the other you might get back if you don't destroy the property. So I just want to "thank" the two "ladies" in the front office of Rogue Realty in Redmond Oregon for such disrespectful, rude behavior towards people that appear to be less fortunate than they themselves are. You have confirmed my deep seated thoughts that I will Never Be Good Enough For Today's society.
Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Not only did they "lose" all of our reports for broken items, they're pinning the former renter's damage on us and refusing to talk about it, claiming they "lost" all of that information as well. We are going on 2 months with a broken backdoor that doesn't lock and going on 2 years with a microwave that leaks something into the heating chamber if used and 2 years with broken windows that don't close fully. The person named Paula has also done nothing but be condescending and rude every time we try to talk to them or report something. We also had to pick up over 100 cigarette butts off the property when we first moved in. On top of that, because they can't raise our rent, they're now claiming the previous tenants damage to the carpets and driveway are enough to charge us $1500 for an additional security deposit and we can't do anything about it. DO NOT RENT FROM ROGUE, DO NOT LEASE YOUR PROPERTY THROUGH ROGUE. They will destroy your property and run off tenants.
Thank you for your review, we always appreciate feedback from our tenants. I'm not sure who would have told you that we "lost" your information, we keep very good records and photographs of our managed properties at move-out, move-in and throughout each tenancy. Any reported maintenance concerns are always communicated with the property owner and we follow their instruction on repairs and maintenance. If the maintenance request is not tied to an essential service the property owner will determine if and when to repair or replace. We process rent increases on an annual basis per owner approval and tenants would never be charged for a previous tenant's liabilities/damages. Sometimes our property owners will ask that we increase a tenant's security deposit when an inspection shows that a property is not being maintained properly by the tenant. Again we appreciate your feedback and encourage you to contact our office should you have any questions.
Negative experience: I thought deschutes property management was bad, but they don't even come close to this place. RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNCOOPERATIVE, and just overall AWFUL. Like this place is a joke. Nobody ever knows what is going on and I was basically robbed or $90. Don't waste your time going here. They are pathetic, lazy and they make me regret moving to Oregon.
Positive experience: Would rent again. Good group to work with.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Beth! We're glad our commitment to customer service shone through. We are happy to be helpful!
Negative experience: Total doushers
Fantastic experience: I recently moved to central Oregon and rented a home from Rogue. Josh and Paula have been very personable, helpful, and pleasant to work with and Paula has consistently gone out of her way to take care of me. The house was the cleanest rental home I have ever moved in to and I was beyond grateful for that, what a joy to not have to clean the house I'm moving in to! Unfortunately, the owner has decided to sell my rental home and I'll have to move but Paula notified me promptly and is working with me to find another rental. I hope I'll be able to find a Rogue managed property so I know I'll be well cared for.
Thank you for your kind words, Laura! We love going above and beyond for our clients, and we love it even more when our service is great enough to garner such a splendid review. We'll be sure to share it with our staff, and let them know you enjoyed your experience with Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management!
Fantastic experience: Rogue Real Estate manages a good variety of quality built homes for rent. We were lucky to find a home that actually exceeded our needs. Management was responsive when repairs/maintenance was needed, and the handyman is a great guy! After we moved out, there was a problem with inspection, but after clarifying with management, it was resolved 100% to our satisfaction. I can easily recommend renting your next home from Rogue Real Estate!
Thank you for your wonderful review, Matt! Our Rogue Real Estate Redmond team is grateful to hear we've met and exceeded your expectations. We're glad we could help you, and we're grateful for your recommendation!
Positive experience: Rogue has been a great company to rent from. Truly amazed by the way they can simultaneously advocate for both their property owners and their renters. It seems that most of the rental companies see renters as necessary evil. Lindsey has been an incredible addition to the team and has made my family feel like we're appreciated. She and the rest of the crew at Rogue have made us and our property owner form a great partnership that will hopefully last a long time.
Thank you for taking the time to review us! We're glad our commitment to customer service shone through. We are happy to be helpful!
Fantastic experience: I've rented from Rogue Property/Real Estate twice now since relocating here. I've had nothing but excellent professional service and quick response to repair and maintenance issues. Just a couple of examples- I received 100% of my deposit on my first place and-This last weekend during the heat wave my AC unit went out. It was up and working with one phone call and just 24 hours later. The people there are the best though. I've worked with Soraya, Kathy, and Marleen and have always had pleasant and professional experiences with them all. They really do seem to care about the tenants. I have recommended them to good friends and family without hesitation, and continue to do so.
Thank you for taking the time to review our performance, Michael! We shared your appreciation with the team and they were happy to have been of help, and to provide you with excellent customer service. We're glad your experience has been great! We at Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management are grateful for your recommendation.
Fantastic experience: A company you can trust!
Thank you for the 5-star rating, Shirley! We appreciate it!
Negative experience: Redmond, OR I was ripped off! Be aware! I have gone through different landlords and property management companies in my life as a renter and this is the ONLY place that gave me a bitter experience. I had the place I was renting professionally cleaned after I moved out and they still kept half of my deposit for "cleaning and maintenance" fees, after over two months of asking explanations and following up with them they only gave me lies!! And refused to revised their desition even though the place wa spotless and I had proof! Very frustrating and dissapointing! The lady named Paula kept lying to me for the longest time and promising answers and phone calls but never did. I know my consumer rights but I decided to move on and stop waiting energy and time on them. I do no recommend this place! I was paying $800 a month for a tiny two bedroom town house, I moved out and it was listed for $1500 + deposit ( that you never get back by the way) what a joke! I was only asking for what it was fair, nothing else nothing more.
I'm sorry you were unhappy with your experience. Since you posted anonymously, we are unable to address your exact concerns. We follow standard procedures on move-outs and provide a move-out checklist to our tenants with instructions on how to leave the property to obtain a full deposit refund. If all steps are followed, and the property is returned in the same condition it was rented, your deposit is refunded.
Fantastic experience: Very nice and easy to work with. They responded to all my inquires and questions quickly and made the whole process very easy! Thanks
Thank you so much for your kind words, Amy. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. At Rogue Real Estate Sales & Property Management, we are committed to providing everyone with dependable, exceptional service. We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we succeeded.
Negative experience: After not receiving a callback through the emergency maintenance line, we finally had a plumber come out to the property after a week of our kitchen sink being broken and leaking everywhere. They replaced it (twice because the first time was incorrect) and replaced this dishwasher. They were supposed to pick up the old dishwasher but still haven't (2 months now). Our rent was just raised and they asked us to come sign new paperwork. I've called them and tried to setup an appointment to sign the papers as well as if I would need to sign a new lease instead of month to month. One week later- still haven't heard back.
Fantastic experience: I've been thinking about moving to the area and was referred to by a friend who rents from Rogue. Communication has been exceptional and everyone I've spoken to in the office is very kind and competent. I will positively rent through them if I move forward with relocation.
Thank you for your wonderful review, Ta! Our Rogue Real Estate Redmond team is grateful to hear we've met and exceeded your expectations. Thank you for your recommendation!
Fantastic experience: The team at Rogue was incredible. I felt like consistently went out of their way to make the process smooth and hassle-free. They were very professional and treated my wife and I with first-class service. I would recommend Rogue to anyone looking for a reliable property management experience.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Rishi! We're glad our commitment to customer service shone through. We are happy to be helpful!
