Experiencia negativa: My experience buying a home with April Timms was deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend her based on how I felt throughout the process and what happened shortly after the purchase. As a first-time homebuyer, I needed someone I could trust to guide me through such a major financial commitment. I relied on my realtor to help me understand the property’s condition, explain potential concerns, and give me the information I needed to make a confident decision. Instead, I felt pressured to move forward while remaining inadequately informed about issues with the house. Looking back, I do not feel that I received the guidance, transparency, or attention to my interests that I expected. I feel that I was taken advantage of during a process in which I should have felt supported and protected. Approximately three months after purchasing the home, I had to repair the roof. Having to address such a significant problem so soon after closing was upsetting and left me questioning whether I had understood the condition of the home before committing to the purchase. It also made the lack of clear information I felt during the buying process much more consequential. April paid for my home inspection. I cannot say whether the roof problem should have been identified during that inspection or why it was not brought to my attention in a way that prepared me for what followed. What I can say is that the inspection and the guidance I received did not leave me feeling adequately informed or protected as a buyer. Paying for an inspection does not replace the need for clear communication about its findings and limitations. I am now trying to sell the same house April assisted me in buying, which has made this experience even more frustrating. As I go through the selling process, I am working with an actual godsend of a realtor who has shown me how the process is supposed to be handled. The difference in communication, guidance, transparency, and overall support has been significant. Seeing what proper representation looks like has reinforced how unsupported I felt during my purchase. The most troubling part of my experience was feeling that completing the sale mattered more than making sure I understood what I was buying. From my perspective, the process felt rushed and focused on closing, while my need for thorough explanations and confidence in the purchase was not sufficiently addressed. I came away feeling misled, taken advantage of, and disappointed in someone I had trusted to guide me through an important decision. I understand that buying a home involves uncertainty and that no realtor can guarantee a property will never need repairs. My complaint is about the pressure I experienced and the quality of the communication and guidance I received. A first-time buyer should feel able to make an informed decision, with a clear understanding of potential concerns, rather than look back after closing and wonder why they were not better prepared. Because I now understand how the process should be handled, I feel obligated to share my experience in hopes of helping the next person. No first-time buyer should feel as though they were taken advantage of or left without the guidance and transparency they needed. Based on my experience, I would not choose April Timms again or recommend her to someone seeking careful, transparent representation. This purchase left me with a roof repair within months, the challenge of now trying to sell the home, and a lasting loss of trust in the service I received. I wish I could do zero or negative stars because I genuinely even feel like giving them 1 star is such a huge stretch.
