Experiencia negativa: I am writing this to caution both prospective tenants and property owners about the management style at RPM Legend, specifically with Kent. My family—which includes a municipal 'essential employee' with stable income and a flawless rental history—was extremely interested in a home in Wylie. We were prepared to sign a long-term, 3-year lease and pay all deposits in full. ​Despite our transparency and direct confirmation from our current landlord (who verified we are excellent tenants), Kent chose to use accusatory and dismissive language throughout the process. He repeatedly questioned our move-out timeline even though we had a clear agreement with our current landlord to give notice once a new lease was secured—a standard practice for a family with five children. ​It is no surprise this property has sat vacant for months. High-quality, educated tenants will not tolerate being bullied or misrepresented, especially when the property itself shows signs of neglect (such as evidence of mice). Owners, be aware: your 'manager' may be the reason your investment is sitting empty. Response: Kent, your response is as unprofessional as the process itself. It is disappointing—though not surprising—that you claim to have 'no record' of our 3-year lease proposal, as it was clearly outlined in our written communication as a commitment to the property’s long-term stability. ​The 'failure' here was not our criteria, but your choice to freeze a highly qualified family out while waiting on an incomplete application just because we asked for a standard first-year negotiation. Your defensive tone and continued misrepresentation only confirm that we made the right choice by walking away. Owners deserve transparency, and tenants deserve respect—neither of which were provided here. We have moved on to a better property with professional management. Caveat Emptor indeed. It is highly unprofessional that you chose to announce a 'denial' on a public forum before you even had the courtesy to send us that correspondence directly. Thank you for clearing that up here; it perfectly illustrates the lack of communication we experienced. Our 'failure' was simply asking to negotiate on a home that has sat vacant for months, and your response confirms that our intuition about your 'bully' behavior was correct. We aren’t disgruntled by a denial—we are relieved to have avoided a manager who handles professional inquiries with such disregard.

Experiencia negativa: This is for rental owners: on several occasions I’ve had to do the job myself by shopping around and getting competitive quotes for repairs. Due to the overpriced quote they gave us we lost a tenant. Forcing us to shop for a better quote.They use third-party contractors, slowing down repairs and causing a markup on material. Without oversight, repair costs consistently came in above average market rates. As a property owner, you will end up paying more than necessary unless you actively manage and verify the work you’re paying this company to handle. For example: • He asked us to put in a fence. The home has a fence he wanted to replace it for thousands of dollars. • When the HVAC needed repair, they accepted the first quote they received, which was over $20,000. Since we don’t live in Texas (the reason we hired a property manager), we still had to call around ourselves to find a more reasonable price. • They quoted $176 for a 48-inch closet shelf and rod. A quick Google search showed a suitable Home Depot option for a rental property at $39. There have been too many situations like this to count. Each one costs unnecessary time and money, which defeats the purpose of hiring a property management company. Based on our experience, there are better property management services available in the Dallas area.

They are a small, family-owned management company, and truly care about their owners and tenants. I've never had a smoother, quicker, or friendlier experience (and I've rented for 20+ years). Kent went above and beyond to answer my questions. Paula answered on a Saturday and was the sweetest person, even when I doubted my decision. Daniela was super helpful both in email and phone. While my becoming a tenant didn't materialize, I'm grateful that RPM Legend is all about service, and never once made me feel bad! I highly recommend them, and will to anyone I meet in the future who needs/wants to rent. You won't be disappointed!

Experiencia negativa: I am currently renting here now, but to get a showing was impossible. I get a code to unlock the lock box to view the property, it did not work. Could not get ahold of a human on the phone to get a tour so I decided to rent without being able to view it. 3 months in the maintenance is apparently non existent. I report the bedroom ceiling leaking and did not hear anything for over a month until I complain about it. The only "help" I've gotten since then was promised days to fix it and no one shows up. So if you have any issues, be ready to fix the problems yourself.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this company negative stars I would. They are unethical and do not communicate during the rental process. The contract we signed with this company indicated that any expenses past $250 would need to be approved by us. They have not been able to rent the property after nearly 2 months. Now they’re claiming that they’ve accumulated $900/ week in expenses trying to rent the property. None of these “expenses” except 2 have been communicated nor approved. The only thing that they’ve done so far are a (one time) light cleaning and made copies of keys. When I asked what methods they were using to rent my property they replied that they’ve listed it on all standard avenues. I could’ve listed it on Zillow myself for free. Look elsewhere for your property management needs. **Update** I just wanted to attach the screenshot of the email that one of the representatives sent me. Nowhere in this email does the rep mention an “opportunity cost.” It read as if he was trying to extort us into lowering our rental price.

Experiencia fantástica: We were looking into a rental, and even though our credit wasn't the best, we were approved with an additional deposit. When I told them I could not pay all at once, they tried to come up with every way possible for us to be able to get the house. Which included splitting it up over the year contract. Unfortunately, the property was at the top of our budget already so we were not able to work with them but I most certainly would if given the opportunity! I did not get a last name but Paula was more than willing to talk to the owners about any request/questions that we had and even recommended more properties that they managed. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Working with Kent was fantastic, he empathized with me and patiently worked with me to get us into a home. Experiencia negativa: My experience as a prospective renter with Real Property Management Legend owner Kent Lindloff. I found a Zillow listing for a property managed by Kent. The number on the listing was answered by a non-English speaking voicemail message only with no English options. The telephone number listed on Real Property Management Legend website was answered by a fax line sound. Once I tracked down a working email for Kent I schedule a tour of the property for a specific date and time. After my arrival, while waiting on Kent to arrive, three additional unrelated groups of people arrived to also tour the property. Kent never gave any indication this would be a group tour or open tour with other potential renters. Considering Kent was already late to the meeting I made the decision to leave before his arrival. The lack of professional communication and courtesy is the main reason I chose to not meet with Kent.

Experiencia fantástica: We hired RPM Legend (and Kent) in March to manage our home after moving out of state. He had tenants and a lease signed within two weeks of our first meeting. It is a 3,100sqft class A property and Kent got the appropriate rent for it. He was thorough and detailed through the whole process and I was particularly pleased with quality of his pre-move in inspection report. RPM Legend also took the time to care for the property during the time after we moved out and the tenants took the keys. RPM Legend is not the cheapest PM company in DFW, but with an asset this valuable I needed to know that it would be managed well. So far it has been.
