We met him when we were looking to move from our downtown Arlington Heights urban condo to a place with a little more green space and quiet. Why? Because we got a dog. And while an urban jungle downtown environment was great for us and the cat who owns us? Not so great for the pup. Actually, Zillow set us up with Stefan based on an initial look-see at a condo property in the Rob Roy subdivision in Mt. Prospect. That property wasn't the best for us, but within a week or two? Stefan had found several homes that could fit our needs. But y'know why he's different than many other real estate agents? He listens. And he asks a lot of questions about what your plans are not only for a move-in but are you ready to rehab? Do you want something turn-key? His background in construction enables him to give his buyers an idea of what has to be done (sooner vs. later) and what would be nice to be done. And so, yes. Stefan helped us find our new home. And we love it. Aha. But THEN. We needed to sell our old home. Honestly, it's a great space. And during the time we lived there? We upgraded so much. Add to the mix that from the time we closed on the new property and we're trying to sell the old property? We were on a 12-day cruise in Europe. But y'know what? As our selling agent now, Stefan didn't blink an eye. He worked across the crazy time zone differences to let us know about showings and open houses, and feedback. When we hit a bit of a snag due to the market conditions, he talked with us about options, what to consider, and ultimately, helped us make the decision that our best course of action was to show the condo empty, so potential buyers could see their lives inside the unit. He uses social media, his networks, his colleagues, whatever is in his tool chest to ensure, if you are selling, you get the best offer that you can. And we did. We have bought and sold properties over 8 times, and while all of our real estate agents have been great? Stefan is amazing. Plus we fell in love with his daughter. Set that aside as an anecdote. Stefan? Look for a little thank you gift from us for being the amazing agent that you are. We wish you all the best for the remainder of 2025, and great fortune in the New Year. Experiencia fantástica: Evan is the best Realtor we have ever worked with, having bought homes in 4 different states over 40 years. We started working with Evan a year ago while looking for a house closer to Palatine. He showed us many houses during the spring and summer within a 30 minute radius. At each one he thoroughly explained the advantages and disadvantages of the house, including estimates for work to do, long term value of the property, our needs, and recommendations for bidding. We bid on 4 properties, during this period. For three of them we did not follow his recommendation and subsequently did not get the bid; on the 4th property, in which we followed his recommendation, our offer was accepted. At the end of the summer, our needs unexpectedly changed, and instead of showing any frustration with all the work he had done for us, he graciously adapted. With his recommendation when the offer fell through because our existing property didn't sell quickly enough, he counseled us to make a few improvements to our existing home, and re-list it in the spring of 2024. This we did. It received a cash offer within two weeks. I especially appreciate his advice on how to perceive the market and whether the properties have long term value as an investment. Since then he has begun working with our daughter and son-in-law on remodeling their home so that it will be appealing when/if they decide to sell.
