Experiencia negativa: We rented from Keystone for three years. Their staff is amazing. I never had any issues with them. Maintenance staff tried their hardest to fix some issues we had. I would recommend renting from Keystone. They did a really great job treating us as valued customers and always did the right thing. Thank you, Keystone, for your excellent customer service! I really wish I could have rented from you again. Update. Owner wanted to sell home. They asked us to buy it but our family grew and it was too small for us. They asked us to rent from them because we are great tenants but they didn't have any homes big enough for us at the time. I started cleaning the house weeks before we moved out. Deep cleaned everything from the walls, the top of the counters, inside all the cabinets, had the carpet professionally shampooed. They kept our entire deposit for leaving excess trash outside by the trash bins. They also claimed they had to clean the air because it smelled like weed. They knew our back door didnt lock for the majority of our time living there. It was unsecured. Anyone could have gone in there after we moved and smoked weed. I dont k ow but just so y'all know, I've always gotten my deposits back from previous rental companies. I have pictures to show how nicely the house was cleaned when we moved out.

Experiencia negativa: Do not waste your time they will take your application fee and deny you. They do illegal background checks to go way past 7 years. If you do not have credit don't bother applying because they will not trust that you can pay your rent even though you have a job and can prove that you have three times the amount of the rent. They are rude and inconsistent and they take many many weeks to approve you or disapprove you for an apartment with no calls in between their communication is absolutely horrible. I can only imagine that if I did rent a place how they would manage it. Like I said don't waste your money on the application fee I'm out $130 just for them to deny me and say that my credit wasn't sufficient. Just because a person doesn't have credit it doesn't mean they have bad credit.

Experiencia negativa: It’s unfortunate that Keystone Property Management has a monopoly on most properties in Pueblo. My duplex was owned by a lovely family when I moved in. They were attentive and warm. My lease transferred after Keystone bought them out, so I had no say in what was happening. During the transfer process I had managers, investigators, accessors and anybody else walking through my apartment at anytime, without warning or notice for over a month. And with complete disregard to the fact that I work from home, and needed a quiet space. Since then they’ve raised the rent and have ignored any and all maintenance requests. I’m still stuck here for the time being, but I can only imagine how awful the move out process will be. I recommend that you do whatever you can to find anyone else to rent from.

Experiencia negativa: These people will over charge for clean up and take all of your deposit. Definitely don’t recommend renting from them.they praise how good of a single father I am and still rip me off. I swept up but didn’t mop. There is no way $1275.00 to clean apartment and replace two doors. Overall worst experience from property management

Experiencia negativa: Beware!!! This company specializes in scamming you out of your money. Had a 6 months lease with them and professionally had my apartment cleaned and they still found a way to short me of my deposit and did not even provide an explanation or proof through pictures. I left the apartment in better condition than how I received it. Moreover, they will find some kind of excuses to enter your property and invade your privacy.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT rent from them! They kept my $1300 deposit and want $3300 more claiming my service dog destroyed the carpet. I moved out a month early and turned in the keys. They went in and did renovations on my utilities. When I called to ask about it, I was told "How did you even know we were in there?" That question alone shows they were trying to pull one over. They took a week to come fix my hot water heater when it went out and a week and a half to fix the smoke detector. When I called on the smoke detector they said, "just unplug it until we can get there to fix it." Having a son, if there was a fire I was scared and went and stayed at my parents' place until it was fixed because that is a safety issue. I fixed the holes in the wall that I did and the tenant before me and they are mad because they were not professionally done. When they came and did an inspection, they said all was good and now they are claiming an overwhelming urine smell in the home. Response to property management comment: I renewed the lease because I had no other options at the time. The smoke detector was not handled in a timely manner and neither was the hot water heater. My animal did not do the damages being claimed. I still have yet to see an itemized list on the repairs. The lease was NOT broken I paid my last month for March and utilities until I found out that the landlords were in my complex without a 24 hour notice which is illegal.

Keystone Property Management

This review was left by a previous tenant who is unhappy with their Security Deposit Settlement. The tenant was charged for replacing the carpet and painting in the rental. The carpet needed replacing due to the excessive damage caused by her animal and the unit needed to be painted because the tenant used the wrong paint color in multiple rooms. Even though the animal was an ESA, the tenant is obligated to fix any damage caused by the animal.
The tenant broke their lease and was obligated to pay rent/utilities until the end of the lease or until a new tenant moved in. Since the carpet and painting had to be done due to their negligence and actions, the home was not able to be immediately advertised. Once the required rehabilitation was completed, the home was rented within one week.
As far as the water heater and smoke alarms stories are concerned, these are false. All work orders were done in a timely manner, in fact, the tenant renewed the lease after these “occurrences”.
We have responded to all communications from this tenant. We have supplied pictures of the damage and copies of the invoices paid.

Experiencia negativa: Kathy is the rudest one there. Has an attitude that she should keep to herself. So many problems with these houses that they never seem to fix no matter how many times you ask. Last year our heat was out for awhile and I have babies. Takes forever for a work order to be done. They don’t care about your needs as long as they get paid.

Do not waste your time and energy dealing with these people. They will only jeopardize your property. They do not fufill their legal obligations, or tend to tenants needs. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Dont let these extortionist exploit you.

Experiencia negativa: make sure to take pictures after you’re done cleaning when you’re moving out. they only gave me 470$/900$ of my deposit back because they said they had to pay for a full clean of the apartment, had to replace blinds, and they didn’t like how the apartment was shampooed(even though i hired someone like the lease said too.) i replaced the broken blinds for 40$ from lowes and i deep cleaned the entire apartment down to the baseboards. there’s nothing i can do because i don’t have proof to argue with. i didn’t take any pictures, but i didn’t think they were going to be liars.

Experiencia negativa: The front desk ladies are all very friendly but the actual management is incredibly rude and judgemental to lifestyles that don't look like their ideals. My family member rented from them for two years, he even sent them new customers throughout his time there was constantly being thanked and praised by the staff. Unfortunately he was disrespectfully treated at inspections on multiple occasions by Anne ("the boss" to my understanding) even though his house was in order. She judged his religious displays during the month of Diwali and was incredibly rude about a little bit of crayon his special needs toddler put on a wall. Plus a host of other unnecessarily expressed opinions about the personal choices he made in his own home. He was a single father of three young girls and she treated him like trash for having their toys and outside furniture in the backyard. Then refused to resign his lease because of it, even though the house was cared for and the rent was always paid. Now that is (unfortunately) her right as a property manager but the truly horrible part is that when he went to find a new home to rent for him and his children she gave him an exceptionally nasty review to the other management company and basically insured that he and his girls could not even rent another house either. They ended up going through a whole ridiculous process of moving to a storage unit and a shelter when their lease ended all because she felt the need to voice her narrow minded opinion about his backyard instead of just answering the rental reference questions regarding if he paid rent and the state of the house itself. Its a shame she has let the power of her position go to her head in such a negative way, it's removed her humanity towards the fact that she is frequently the deciding factor to the fates of whole families. For shame. Oh and that's not to mention the MULTIPLE work orders that went unfulfilled throughout his time there. I babysat his girls frequently and saw them slip more than once on a shoddy railings to the stairs done by keystones maintenance people that they NEVER fixed in the whole two years he was there. They're very lucky no one got seriously injured.

Experiencia negativa: Went through the same exact situation that reviewer Joseph Deal did about a year ago. Glad to see people are talking about the scamming and evictions for no real reasons. Don't rent from Keystone, when you encounter hardships they will evict you and take all your money. Telling someone they need to find a better job is unprofessional and rude, especially when there was a global pandemic. Payments were made on-time for several years, including during the pandemic hardships. It was after the pandemic ended and the ban on evictions was lifted and that's when Keystone began evicting people in order to raise their rent to match the market prices. I strongly suggest avoiding Keystone at all costs!

Experiencia negativa: Keystone properties took over management of my lease halfway through in January of 2022. Upon 1st contact they were rude and persistent over the phone to the point I lost a job, because they interrupted my phone interview. Upon discovering that I was black in our initial face to face meeting they were determined to evict me with no real reason. They claimed it was rent owed, but when paid in full, they still proceeded with eviction attempts. Charging bogus fees and ultimately forcing to move. In the end they came up with more lies to keep my deposit, such as damage to property, illegal fees, and trumped up utility charges. I have proof of their lies and will see them in court very soon. Don't rent from these racists. They will pull any scheme to beat you out of your money. BTW, they never are any repairs or maintenance on the home during the 6-7 months of doing business with them. These are hard-core scammers and thieves. Don't trust these women. Their WILL do everything in their power to keep your money and put you into a hard ship. I have every receipt and v Written communication, plus voice recordings of our meetings. Meetings where I asked why they wanted me to move. Verbatim they explain they have no reason. They just want me out. Beware of the crooks. Terrible people who don't like minorities.

Experiencia negativa: The realtor stood in a corner during my walk through . I had to approach her. The house was extremely outdated and not something you would want to have your children live in. Maybe that’s why the realtor wouldn’t move from the corner . She scheduled another person during my appointment as well. I called about my application to inform them I did not like the unit so if they could pull my application and the receptionist was extremely rude and sarcastic. They originally said they would hold it until I looked at the unit so I could get a refund Incase I didn’t like it. Then the receptionist said they don’t do refunds if I paid through the portal. I had a bad experience start to end. I was really disappointed .

Experiencia negativa: Be aware!!!! I gave one star because there is no zero star option! We were the first one to see the property and to fill the application (that is what we were told), payed the $80.00 got approved, received an email from Mrs. Sylvia at 3:59 PM asking us to pay right away the deposit of $1,750.00. My husband replies at 6:24 PM (same day but we are out of town so different time zone) asking for the contract, this is the first time ever we are required to pay a deposit without seeing the conditions or rules that we should abide by. Mrs. Sylvia never answered our email. Next day we received a voice message from Mrs. Sylvia at 9:14 AM mountain time stating that they already had rented the home since we did not pay the deposit "soon enough". Really?!!! For sure not a professional way of doing business. I am glad the true colors of this office showed pretty soon because we do not want to be stuck with a contract with such an unprofessional service. I will say of your response that you are just confirming what I wrote. Your office was expecting a deposit in such a short notice without sending us the contract for reviewing. If others have such a confidence to give away money without seeing a written contract, well, that is not the way we do business. Didn't he mention he was out of state in a training? He answered as soon as he could. May God, who over sees everything and sees all intentions of the heart be the witness and judge in this situation. Today you have the upper hand with a quick moving rental market may God continue blessing your business in the same way you treat prospective tenants and tenants in general.

Your husband was informed via email that we had other applications on hand and we were unable to hold the property. He was told that we needed the deposit paid immediately or we had to proceed with another application as we are contractually obligated to keep processing applications and scheduling showings for a property until the security deposit has been secured. You did not ask to see the contract until 2 1/2 hours after you were asked to pay the deposit to secure the home. Meanwhile, we continued to process other applications and a different one was also approved. They paid the deposit immediately to secure the home. Unfortunately, in these situation where there are multiple applicants wanting the same home, we have to proceed until funds are secured. I'm sorry that you feel our office is unprofessional, however, in such a quick moving rental market, you need to move fast to secure the property. We wish you the best of luck.

Experiencia negativa: Went to see a rental a few days ago and when it came time to get the application the lady said it would be double the deposit! Really?? On every single website and Facebook it says NOTHING about a double deposit! It simply says move in is first months rent which is $1000 and a deposit of $1000.

The rent and deposit were both reduced on Friday. The owner was requiring a double deposit with the rent being $1100. Up until Friday, the ads did state $1100 rent with $2200 security deposit. We apologize for the confusion! If you're still interested, the rent is $1000 with $1000 security deposit. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: My business is to provide affordable working-class housing without government support. I began it 6 1/2 years ago in Pueblo and my realtor referred me to Susan and Ann Sanders of Keystone. Since then, Keystone has been an outstanding. They always find the best clients and really pick up the slack for me, since I am not in town as much as I would like. I have to compliment Sylvia, too, for her exceptional work as receptionist. Keystone has helped me to maintain and upgrade my properties, without pushing the rents of my tenants through the ceiling. They have been especially helpful in finding the best contractors around. I would recommend them to anyone.

Experiencia negativa: Poor service from the start! I turned in an application on a Tuesday and was told it would be only a couple days. Two days later there was a change in my income and I reported it to them and they continued on processing the application. After waiting the rest of the week and weekend to get an answer they told me they would not rent to me because of the change in income (even though it was more). They did not even call my employer to verify anything. Also if you were ever in a situation where you rented two different properties at the same time you would not qualify or meet their standards ! Sylvia was extremely rude to me and did not seem to care about my situation. I asked questions to further explain why I was denied and they were short and not willing to thoroughly explain why these were reasons to be denied. I am currently living in a motel with my 5 month old baby and a trailer packed of my belongings. They wasted my time and SYLVIA seems to be pretty inefficient and heartless. Would not recommend any one to deal with this company. Especially since renting is a hassle in the first place- they make the experience worse.

Experiencia negativa: I lived in a home that this company managed for 2 years. Various times they took their time making repairs to vital parts of the home, such as heater and air conditioner. The heater was leaking carbon monoxide and caused health issues and they refused to help with my medical bills. Then they did not fix my heater all winter (October to January). After that they gave me 2 space heaters to heat half of a 5 bedroom home. The other half was central heat, which was gas. So both my gas bill and electric bill skyrocketed. I begged and put in multiple requests to be fixed. The company agreed to help with my medical bills and then backed out, even after providing them with my medical bills and my HVAC techs findings and then complained that I was late with the rent. Which I was late with the rent to pay my medical bills. I kept arguing that I needed things fixed and finally in March they half fixed the heat. Found out from my own HVAC tech that it was leaking carbon monoxide into my room the entire time because they had no outside vent for flue gases and that the repair they had done was illegal because they did not seal off the vent into my room nor create a vent to go outside. So it is still dangerous. I let them know this and still no help with my medical bills and they still did not repair properly. Then in April of this last year notified them one of the swamp coolers was not working properly. They never repaired that either so it left my home unbearable all summer. I got caught up on rent anyway and was notified they would not renew my lease in July. At this point this was fine by me, since it was clear to me, they do not care about tenants, I had a newborn grand-baby in my home and I had neurological damage from this leak and that could have been my grandchild. I was moved out on time and someone broke into the home and vandalized the property and now they want to charge me for the damage the person did. I have a police report and notified the company right away of what I knew. They also tried to charge me for clean up from the damage the vandal did, when I had spent hours cleaning the home and even sent them photos and have witnesses of how I left the home. I have been speaking with an attorney but thought the public should be aware of what you are dealing with here. Let me be very clear, I was never late on rent until my medical issues and was a good tenant. They even said so upon inspection the previous year. Do not rent from them!

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience ever. We moved fromout of state and had family go look at the property for us and Submitted application & app fee online. We were assured that there should be no problem getting into the house since I have good credit. There was a false eviction on my report so I was told that as long as I could prove it was false then everything would be ok. So I had the landlord call them and explain that he had my file mixed up with the upstairs neighbors file and sent paperwork to his attorney to have corrected. This was a week & a half process. That doesn't seem long but it is when you have to pay an additional 630 for the haul (ontop of the 800 already paid) and hotel fees while waiting because you were told after proof was presented to them everything would be ok. I called AGAIN to check status of them recieving documents and speaking with landlord again and the girl says unfortunately even though you have proof it still showed up on your report so we can't rent to you. Had I been told that the 1st time I would have saved 3000 and got the place that I have now and not been hurt financially. I have a 10 year old kid and this happened several months ago and I'm still trying to recover from it. Unfortunately I dont qualify for food stamps so it's been rough. Thanks Keystone.

Experiencia negativa: Showed up only for them to have one already rented the place and two because it was a multi unit place they schedule multi showings which is super awkward. Will take my money else where

Experiencia negativa: I had the worst experience with these people. My father co-signed with me because this was my first time renting. They said we needed to give them his proof of employment- which we did. Since he has his own business they didn't think it was a reliable source of income despite the fact that we proved he makes 3 times the rent in one week. They were extremely rude to us when we explained he was self employed. The way they handled the situation made it seemingly impossible to give them what they wanted. Not to mention the apartment was super crappy with boarded up windows, holes in the walls and smelt really musky. It was way more trouble than the apartment was worth.

Experiencia fantástica: From an owner's perspective, Keystone has proven to be extremely responsive and detail-oriented. I've been in the office when potential tenants have been there filling out applications, making arrangements to move in, paying rent, etc. and have always been impressed with the friendly atmosphere Sylvia, Ann and Susan have created. Experiencia negativa: I’m already disinterested in services from here because Sylvia scheduled me to view a property that was ALREADY in the process of being rented so just a couple days later I received a text saying it was canceled. I could understand doing multiple showings to find the best tenants but after just 2 DAYS getting a cancellation that soon means they were well into the process of renting to someone else when I was scheduled to view the place. I’ll probably get another cancellation text here soon for the other property I wanted to see. It seems like ALL realtor companies in pueblo love to get peoples hopes up. I haven’t been able to view ANY properties because they’re either already rented despite showing available on their websites or get rented the next day.
