Experiencia negativa: Probably the worst people I've ever rented from. A couple months before my lease ended I get a notice to vacate at the end of my lease. Then the month my lease was up I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I asked for an extension so I could get my surgery and recover and then move and they refused. So here I am can't lift anything heavier than 5 lbs trying to move my entire house. They have no compassion and will not work with you at all.

They are professional, thorough, and prompt. From my initial encounter with Christal I was impressed and pleased with my first tenants. Then, several years later, I had the opportunity to work more with Jolene, the maintenance manager. She really demonstrated that she cares about my property and being sure it's in the best condition for me and for future tenants. She did a lot to get it ready for new tenants and I valued her recommendations. Jolene's action, follow-through and advice inspires confidence and trust. I can tell that Gateway keeps the tenant in mind and is fair. And, I appreciate how they provide information on changing laws that impact rental property. Their knowledgeability is helpful for everyone involved. I am truly pleased with Gateway Property Management and highly recommend them. Thank you Christal, Jolene, and all of the Gateway Team!

Experiencia negativa: Don't waste your time and money. I called them a week after submitting my application, (I was told it would take 4 to 5 days). I was told that my application was complete and that they would call me. It's been 3 weeks, never heard back from them. I contacted the screening company, they did everything they were supposed to do, they sent me a copy of the report, and everything in it was positive. But even if they wanted to reject me as a potential renter, they could have at least had the decency to call and tell me. Also, when I called to follow up on my application, I inquired about a specific property that they had listed as "available now" on their website and was told that they actually did not have any availability at that location. So the availability on their website is not 100% accurate.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid This Business at All Costs! To start I am disabled veteran on a fixed income, I normally protect myself & I did not. I failed to research this business properly please HEED MY WARNING! I have rarely encountered such a blatantly deceptive and unprofessional operation. This office took my background check fee without ever providing me a copy of the report. Instead, they gave me the runaround and wasted my time. Despite numerous calls, Cristal, the supposed point of contact, was almost impossible to reach. She has Areli screen her calls, making direct communication nearly impossible. One moment, Cristal responds to emails, and the next, she’s "too busy" with meetings and applications to be available for days. When my application was ultimately denied, she shifted the blame onto the homeowner and still failed to provide a proper receipt for the charges. Their lack of accountability, poor communication, and evasive behavior are clear red flags. I strongly urge anyone to steer clear of this company. They prey on vulnerable individuals and show zero respect for their clients’ time or resources. *Below here is my response to Elizabeth Schultz the "Managing Broker"s reply to my initial review. *1/13/25 4:21p.m. mst*" Your reply doesn't address several key issues I raised. Background Check: While you’ve mentioned having a copy of the consumer report, you failed to locate my file, failed to send a copy once obtained. I had to chase Christal Roberts multiple times for basic communication. This reflects poorly on your process, as we communicated at the start transparency is very important to me and should have been maintained from the start. Communication Breakdown: While I understand that Cristal may have been out sick, this issue seems of not being available for phone conversation systemic, not isolated. Areli mentioned she could assist, but my experience shows that the follow-through is inconsistent. Regardless of staff availability, there should be a more professional and streamlined approach to client concerns. Accountability: Shifting blame to the homeowner and divulging they denied all applications is extremely unprofessional and rude. Your suppose to manage the property professionally not shift blame because you can't handle a issue. I wonder what your property owners would say if they knew your office puts all the blame on the owner. It’s not just about a denied application—it’s about the lack of respect for clients' time and resources, especially for someone on a fixed income like myself.

They always get back to me immediately and and are great about keeping me informed on Washington legislation and making sure our tenants are well taken care of. I appreciate all of the wonderful staff and their dedication to landlords and tenants alike.

Experiencia negativa: Lived in one of their home for 5 years, contract was just for 1 year. Not once ever came to fix or repair anything. After moving out are trying to charge me $2600. Left rent in their drop box one month and they claim they never got it so was forced to pay another $795 for that month. Very unprofessional and greedy. Would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Experiencia fantástica: As a tenant, I am a witness of their hard work, always fast, and working in my best interest effectively and in timely manner, including in emergencies. Gateway Property Management are the best of the best. Jolene, Crystal, Elizabeth, and even the maintenance people they sent to take care of some issues at the house were also excellent people.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this company. They’re deceptive and they’re thieves. I rented a duplex for 18 months and took before and after pictures. I left the property in better condition than when I moved in and I often did quite a bit of maintenance on my own. I mowed the disabled woman’s yard to my right and the blind lady’s yard to my left out of respect and kindness. When my mower broke down, I wasn’t able to mow my yard for 3-4 weeks. I then received a notice stating I will be evicted within 7-10 days if it is not corrected. Mind you, I was never late nor missed any rent payments in 18 months. Upon moving out, I gave my notice (Washington state law is 20 and I have them 19) and I was met with spite. They waited until the end of the following month to close out my lease, charged me for damages that didn’t happen during my stay, charged me for repainting the walls, missing outlet covers and window screens that were already missing before I moved in and they stated in the move out report that the stove and fridge were not cleaned. Again, I have before and after pictures and move-in inspection reports to prove otherwise. In the end, they sent me a reimbursement check for approximately $9.50 out of a possible $1000.00. I’m not going to bother taking them to court for violating the law. If my $990.50 is that important to them, they can keep it. I just hope it was worth the negative review and not to mention, all the people I’ve been telling and will continue telling not to use this company. Read the other reviews as well because I truly believe they are not too far fetched from the truth.

They then don’t even keep things clear with you letting you know it’s not on a first come first serve basis they let you sit in limbo while accepting more application fee money from other prospects. A complete racket.

Experiencia negativa: They scheduled a tour with me for a house then rented the house without telling me and I only found out because I called on the day of the tour. They expected me to drive to the house, see nobody there, and guess that nobody was showing up? When I called the agent she just told me it was rented and hung up on me. I'm not going to contact any properties by this company ever again, so thanks for narrowing down my search!

Experiencia negativa: The worst place I have ever lived in. Lie about the condition of the apartments. Moved in and found black mold growing in all outer wall corners. Say they’re modern updated but just painted the cabinets and put in hard wood floors. Don’t waste ur time, management will tell u what I want to hear every time but won’t fix anything. Washer and dryer have been out of service for a week and nothing done. Water heater went out and we fought fr he management for 4 days before getting hot water back. Don’t take care of anything no maintenance or managers on site. Worst company I have ever worked with

If you own a rental protect your investment by going to a reputable company and this is not it. They allow unauthorized people to live there without going through the required background and credit checks. They will tell you what you want to hear and then call you back and tell you that you have no legal right after they talk to the tenant. They forgot who is paying them... well, who WAS paying them. Save yourself the heartache and expense and find a company that will work for you.
