But Cindy still took the time to work through it with us, helped us evaluate homes in a way that made sense to us, and gradually helped us understand how to think about value in this market. In the end, when we trusted their guidance, we got our place. At the time, we were not sure whether we had gone too high, but later we learned from others who had also bid on the same home that we had gone up just enough to win without overshooting. Looking back, we feel very fortunate. Less than a year later, our home seems to have appreciated significantly, and we truly believe Cindy helped us buy at the right time and at a fair value before the recent wave of appreciation.
