Experiencia negativa: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. This property company is a scam. Whenever you have issues in your building you will have to fighting tooth and nail to get ahold of Barbra. You’re lucky if she answers your calls/texts/emails/portal requests after several days. Most of the time you have to go above her to Greg to get a response. Good luck getting either of them to respond within a reasonable time if you have an emergency. We have had several issues with our water and the only time we were ever reached by anyone to inform us of what was going on was by the people doing the actual repairs at the HVAC company. The whole apartment building is left in the dark about when things such as water will be turned off. Do yourself a favor and find a property management company that is actually willing to communicate with the tenants that PAY to live in said building.

Experiencia negativa: Let me tell you about my 2 horror stories w them . My husband and I rented in lemoyne. The ad refers applicants to Greg the maintenance man. He shows the apartment and if you have the money you are able to move in regardless of the situation. The money order for deposit made out to an unknown person. They promise repairs but once you pay to move in you are on your own. After a year I and everyone in the building have yet to see or hear the owners voice. I then transfered to a vacant apt acrossed the hall bc it was bigger. I couldn't see inside bc the previous tenants took the key. I had 3 hours to decide to take it and pay. Sight unseen I took it and my current apt got rented that quick. When I got inside the new apt I was disgusted. Mice running rampid and knawing through the walls, the stove had caught fire obviously, the plumbing in the bathroom didn't have knobs just wrenches, flea infested, there was buckets in the basement laundry area that were to catch water that ran constantly through the ceiling for years from Tennant's apts, a bird lived in my bedroom wall that they refused to address, it rained through my kitchen light , the yard was cluttered w Tennant's belongings that previously lived in the building, and the basement the same. I was taken to the hospital not once but twice for getting bit by spiders in the basement. When I gave my notice to move they ended up locking me out of my apartment a day early w my belongings inside. The police instructed them to let me back in. Big surprise they never showed up. I had to break the door to regain entry w a police officer observing the reentry process. They kept my deposit and took me to court for the door. This is where I met my landlord for the first time in 2 years. Wait till you hear why I moved. Myself and other 11 apts were sent court paperwork. It stated that the landlords we're not allowed to accept any rent payments from the tenants because they were going through a heated divorce and the property was going up for taxes. There was over $37,000 I believe in back taxes owed on the property. The taxes hasn't been paid on that property for many years. It showed that they made promise after promise to begin making payments. Yet not a single payment was made. At the time of us Tennant's catching wind of this we were never given any clarification on if we were going to have to move, was the building going to be auctioned off for taxes, or what would become of our leases. Despite the many unanswered calls from the Tennant's, not a single returned call from the owners. Instead they sent the maintenance man Greg to bang on apt doors trying to collect rent in cash only rent payments. Threatening letters were posted on mailboxes of Tennant's that refused to pay. All the red flags were there from day 1. I was desperate for an apt at the time. They take advantage of people in bad situations. They accept money and ghost you after. At that point you are stuck with no where else to go. Do not rent from them! Awful is an understatement and 1 star is far too many!

Experiencia negativa: Sure wish I had read the reviews. Everything is fine up until you pay your application fee and then they ghost you. One of the worst property management companies in the Harrisburg area. If you want to waste time and money go to Heavy lifting. They could at least send you a email or text message. Glad I'm with a better company.

They have no problem being smiley and encouraging people to fill out paperwork and applications where they take your money but don’t even notify you if they decide not to go with you. They don’t answer phone calls either.

Experiencia negativa: Applied to rent from this place. I know I am not stellar in black and white but I left 2 voicemails and payed to send in my background report. No one ever got back to me. No phone call, no email. Just think, if 35 people apply for apts in the same day, that's $1,750!!! This places are making bank off of people that are just working to get by and find a place to live!!! I don't think it used to be this way, now its screw the blue collar people, this is why we have a homeless epidemic in this country. One day it will be screw them too, they just don't think so yet, nothing will ever happen to corporate America, you'll always be needed im already blacklisted everywhere so this shouldn't matter

Experiencia negativa: Have tried to contact this company too many times to count and have left several voicemail with no call backs, I was looking for something close to my jobs that wasn't more than $1000 a month but to no luck and now after seeing dozens of reviews leaving similar experiences like mine I'm glad I haven't been called back, also for you to attack previous tenants on reviews is not a good sign and extremely unprofessional which makes these reviews seems even more valid, anyone reading these reviews please avoid this company at all costs

Experiencia positiva: Recently bought 1315, 1317 & 1325 Berryhill st in hbg. Did not send maintenance to fix multiple leaks, then sold as of last week. Just unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: Honestly wish I could give less than one star never said that before but in around 6 years or 7 years of living in Harrisburg I think I've tried to reach out to them and rent several times. I've never heard anything back from them same with my brother and nobody that I've ever talked to has ever heard back from them. Their horrible at communication and never return calls or answer the phone. They do credit back the application fees after they ignore you but that's about it. I think they just rent to the first people to hand them money. Edit: their showing places that are already rented and collecting application fees for places that HAVE ALREADY BEEN RENTED! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM.

He also held on to the property for me and said I first dibs on the property. The move was a success!!!! Thank you Heavy Lifting Property Management!

Experiencia negativa: They wanted us out March 26th. We are still currently looking to move it has been nothing but hard because no one wants to accept you or places don't respond. I would love to move, but it has been hard.They have not came by to fix anything. Mice in the apartment. Every once and a while roaches. My fridge, molded and breaking on the inside. If there are any landlords out there that could help us out. WE tried working with them and asking them to just fix things so we could pay them rent. We currently have been holding our rent due to everything not being fixed. Or if you see this HEAVY LIFTING. Why not respond and answer calls and emails and try to just fix everything and you would have a loyal tenant. This is not harassment. This is just someone who doesn't want to live in the conditions. If you are seeing this greg. I am WILLING to work with you.

Experiencia negativa: I applied for the 3 bedroom place in lemoyne.I paid the application fee for me and my wife. I tried to call and ask for a update on my application and nobody answered the phone. I seen the place I was applying for and there was two different showing with at least 5 people in each but nobody apparently got accepted because as of today it was posted on FB market place. I'm not writing this to bash on heavy lifting. I just felt as though I should have been informed that I didn't get approved. I gave 2 stars because the person who showed me the place was great otherwise it would be 1 star

Experiencia negativa: I applied for Yale St over a month ago. I paid $90 for 3 adults being on the application, me, my fiance and my 18 year old daughter. I also have a 14 and 16 year that we're excited when I explained the house to them. They didn't even have the decency to contact me to deny me. They just left me hanging. I even sent an email to them and got no reply. I expected better treatment, especially since the one the showed us the house, Kisha was so nice. I didn't want to do this review but I felt the need to be heard since $90 of my hard earned money went to waste.

Experiencia negativa: I knew something was wrong when I had to actually go over to the office to speak to someone. Mannn where do I start. Yashay, the leasing agent clearly doesn’t know how to do her job. I had to send multiple emails to let her know that certain things were not done and that I expect them to be done BEFORE I moved in. Well she claimed that they were aware and it was being handled but when I got the key it clearly was not! The customer service I received was horrible. No blinds, patches still needed to be painted, screen was not on patio door, and it was filthy... I wish I could post the video on here somehow! Greg the owner did come over right away but felt as though I was not in the right to be frustrated on MY MOVING DAY! He gave me two options... wait for the guys to come clean or give me my money back. Needless to say I took my money... the oNLY good thing I have to say is that he wrote me a check that day for the amount of money I gave. It was still a mess from the beginning and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone! I could only imagine how they would have treated me if I moved in. SMH and I see him responding back to these post very defensive and arrogantly....that’s not what a great businessman does... smh

Experiencia fantástica: I rented from a place that HLPM managed. They did a fine job in my opinion, when I called for a problem they are right there. Once HLPM no longer managed the property, the property went downhill to no cause of HLPM. If I need to rent again, I will certainly rent from HLPM. I would also refer HLPM to anyone looking for a place to rent. HLPM are very reasonable. If you follow HLPM procedures by ways of contacting and reporting a problem, you should have no problems. I Never did.

Experiencia negativa: Worst place ive ever rented from was told the apt was 100% when i start the move i find a painter still painting. Then the heat didnt work and our washer didn't work. Maintence took 3 days to make first appearance to fix heat now on day 4 and was just told will have to wait a few more days to get my washer fixed. I hifgly recommend you check everything and i mean everything when looking at a apt. RENTERS BEWARE.

Experiencia negativa: VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The owner is able to respond to a google review after office hours yet fail to respond to emails sent out during the time they are open. What a joke. Really hope this can at least end on a professional note. If they think you are trash they treat you as such. Jokes on them.

Experiencia negativa: Had more than one appointment scheduled for different apartments on different days at different times and was stood up for every appointment! There was no phone call or text message to tell me they were running late or that the appointment needed to be rescheduled until the next day. They were very unprofessional on the phone as well and did not know who they were calling and had a conversation with another person in the background while talking to me. Very thankful to not be renting from this company and I will be telling others to avoid them as well.

Experiencia negativa: Just say NO. Horrible. The leasing agent who showed the apt a sweetheart. Once you are in forget it. My refridgerator and stove were both non functioning. I put in a request over a month ago on May 29th to have them repaired or replaced. No response. Finally the fridge totally died and I subtracted the cost of a good used one from the June rent. I withheld the remainder of the rent until the stove is repaired or replaced. Only one burner works and if you turn the oven on it won't go off unless the stove is unplugged from the wall outlet! I consulted with Fair Housing to find out what my rights are as a tenant. I signed my lease on April 19th and in less than 2 months I'm looking for something else. Appliances are supposedly the responsibility of the landlord for the first 60 days of tenancy according to the lease. Don't waste your time or money. You will only end up moving again. Look elsewhere. If in doubt read the other reviews on here from former tenants.

If i could give less stars i would the property's they have have potential to be great and the person showing the property was very nice but the lady handling the paperwork for approvals horrible. I didn't think about it as tge same houses i saw last year back on the market to rent again. I know what my issue was being a section 8 tenant and having a slum landlord. But after statingbthat we wanted the property and getting approved. Moving forward the lady asked up front for a security deposit in full which if you have section 8 that plus a small portion of the rent like 100 to 200 would move you in. It would have been fine if the property at 1912 was ready to pass inspection but the kitchen floor behind the stove was detached from the wall under tge kitchen sink the cabinet was missing a bottom tgere was an oil film covering the cabinets from the last tenant was only there for 6 months. A very large amount of mouse poop in the bottom cabinet two cabinets draws missing the basement floor completely torn up due to pipes that burst in the basement. The first floor bathroom missing a closet door the back yard steps missing a step the rain catcher on the side of the house completely falling down the third floor front room floor so weak my husnand steped on it and almoat went through it. There was hanging paint in the hallway between the secong and third floor the floor on another floor was detached from the wall chipping paint on the celing of other parts of the house in the rooms the carpet completely soilded beyound carpet shampooing. I noted the issues to tge person showing the home and she took pictures and said she would talk the company owner about it. I stated that them home had potential to be beautiful and my family would not have to move again. She stated the landlord was looking for a section 8 tenant and the company owner said the things on my credit not a big issue me and my husband didnt owe not ultility companies nor and landlords for back rent and our income qualified us. So i stated that they should start making the repairs on the house before section 8 inspects so we could move in with ease.they had alot to repair and thats just what i saw not what section 8 looks for.tgey were awate of my deadline about my situation why i had to move and i make sure i document everything for no bad talk nor confusuon with landlords.i brought my landlord tenant package to be signed and it was refuse after explaining we dont walk around with 1000 nor 975 after paying monthly bills not know that we were gonna have to have it shen we looked at tge house we spent it. On hpuse stuff and stuff to move out. I ask the lady why not a small deposit to hold the house not a full security deposit that would require us to sign a lease get keys because that's our move in money and section 8 hasnt even inspect tge home so you dont know if your gonna pass you made no repairs so your not going to pass. And you not guaranteeing me to get a full refund if you fail insoection and section 8 tells us no we cant move in there. She agreed to sign the landlord package . (This a response to comaony reply)I was told not and she would refuse section 8 to inspect the house until she got the money. We were approved i have the text message to prove it from the staff working there as stated i keep all documentation including text's. And tge reason for the not wanting to schedule an inspection is because i did not give the full move in amount up front. Which i experienced this from the same lady who filled out the paperwork this year at the house on liberty street last year she wanted the full move in cost before insoection and application and that house needed to be repaired as well when i stated that she blew it off saying they wait for section 8 to tell then to fix it when she clearly noted the backyard had a mountain of junk in it. I know there are other companies it's a review and my job as a person is to earn people about companies like this. I am not angry at all. I have moved on but if i can help anyone else who read reviews

Experiencia negativa: I was very upset as I lived in a property for over 16 yrs and was sent a letter stating I have 30 days to move as the property is being sold. Well it just seems as though it was rented for higher rent($185.00) more a month. I just ask WHY lie? Tell me you want to raise the rent. Great renovations too. New sticky tile on the kitchen floor. I should of taken my ceiling fan with me. I guess it was a blessing in disguise as your clearly not the landlord of the year. You really don't deserve the one star rating.

Also, my rates were great and the service made me feel like a VIP. I would recommend Heavy Lifting Property Management to anyone looking for quality service.

Experiencia negativa: Heavy Lifting Property Management purchased the building that my apartment is in from Harrisburg Property Management and as an actual landlord they are horrible. There is never anyone in the office so you can never talk to anyone on the phone. Anytime there is an issue with the apartment I have to leave a voicemail and I never get a call back, and any repairs that they do attempt are done half ass. One example, the property had mice before I moved in (I didn't know until after I had been in the apartment for about a month). Harrisburg Property had an exterminator come when I made them aware of the issue and they came to bait every few months. Since Heavy Lifting has taken over the exterminator has stopped coming and despite all the traps that I have put out, the mice have gotten out of control. The only thing that Heavy Lifting has done is bring me a pack of 4 glue strips that they expected me to place around the apartment myself while I'm 9 months pregnant. I would suggest not renting from this company unless you don't have any other choice.

Experiencia fantástica: Greg has been managing my 3 rental properties in Harrisburg, Pa for close to two years. He and his Heavylifting Properties Management team have been a God send. What has meant so much to me is his heart in coming a long side of us and helping us through pain we found ourselves when he started managing our three rental homes. I know he works hard working to address maintenance problems and keeping the tenets happy, but he also does his best to be extremely aware of our “budgets”. With Greg I have never felt like I was treated as just as another client in a long list of clients. If you’re looking for an honest, hardworking, property management team, I can’t think of another management to recommend other than Heavylifting Property Management. They truly do the heavy lifting!

Greg's hands on approach has allowed me to be out of the area and not have to worry about rent being paid, repairs being completed and updates me on the condition of my rental. Their staffs are professional and courteous. They are reasonable with the service fees and do not over inflated their rates like some other property management company. No hidden fees. I will recommend Heavy Lifting to anyone who want to invest in rental property but doesn't have time to manage it.
