Experiencia negativa: Apologies, I am normally a calm, very passive person. The people that work there are very privileged and have never understood empathy. Im sure the general manager will respond with a very generic attempt at saying im sorry. Very low standards, poor attitude and a self of entitlement that would make a rock shutter. A poor excuse for a business, I would suggest to Windermere that they should look into the absolute mess they've created in Oak Harbor. The buildings nice tho, 10/10!

Experiencia fantástica: Windermere Real Estate has been a fantastic community partner for many years. They come out and support the local community and the events that happen in Oak Harbor! Every year, they provide volunteers to support the Whidbey Island Marathon and staff an on-course water station to support the 1,500+ participants. Weather is always unpredictable during the race, but the Windermere team isn't - they're ALWAYS there! Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: My husband and I worked with Stu McNabb and Susan Perry at Windermere Whidbey Island to buy our first home. Unfortunately, it was a TERRIBLE experience! I would give less than one star if I could. We were told that Stu and Susan were a team, but initially, we only worked with Stu. What Stu talked about with us and what was actually put into the contract were two totally different things. Stu kept talking about "industrial cleaning" and closing costs. Later, after we bought the house we even found out that the home was 400 square feet less than advertised! My husband asked Stu about this at one point after we walked another house in a nearby neighborhood with the same exact layout that was listed at a lower square footage. Stu said, "Oh, they're just not accounting for the finished basement room." Which was absolutely and completely wrong, come to find out. Unfortunately, this was our first home buying experience and we were very poorly guided. We actually experienced so much miscommunication and incompetence with Stu that we stopped working with him in the middle of our buying process and ended up working only with Susan instead. Things didn't get any better, though. The home we purchased was unkempt, and had been quickly moved out of by the previous owners. We were told throughout our buying process that the house would be thoroughly cleaned before we took possession. The awful cherry on top was when we went to meet Susan to get keys. We walked in and there were cleaning products she had bought at Walmart on our kitchen counter. We didn't get a picture outside our new home or anything and Susan quickly left after implying that we would need to clean the house we had just bought ourselves. I was floored! I have felt all kinds of grief over this experience. I have felt screwed over, lied to, and decieved! I hope nobody else ever has to feel this way when buying their first home! My husband is a veteran. He was deployed overseas last year during the birth of our first child, and when he got back, we used his VA loan to purchase our first family home. Veterans United connected us with Stu and Susan. I am very sad to have experienced that THIS is the referral given to veterans in our area. Such a disgrace!

Experiencia negativa: Hands down probably the worst property management company we have ever experienced. When we first decided to use them we had hesitations based on what we had heard but our property manager seemed competent. We had no problems for almost a year and then there seemed to be high turnover over the next two years and our property manager changed multiple times. When our tenants moved out, it took the property manager over 2 months to get the house "ready" to rent again which is unacceptable in my opinion. The vendors they contract for any type of work are beyond subpar. We had multiple work orders for the same plumbing repair that needed to be done and, once we moved back into the house and saw that the problem was never actually fixed, my husband (who is not a plumber) had it figured out and fixed within 20 min. Our house was still dirty when we moved back (even after they had a cleaning company come out for a full house cleaning). The walls had various splatters throughout the house and the floors had very obviously not been mopped since the renters had left. The carpet cleaning company they hired didn't clean all the carpeted rooms. This list could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and do not use this management company!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Worst Rental agency ever i got penalized and accused for smoking "pot" right after I got home from work as I work in the industry on my dad's suicide date of 4/20, no verbal discussion/warning just penalized $50 or 10 day warning to comply or move out via " Alia Houston"

Experiencia fantástica: Lovely people working here. Helped me find a place while I was out of the country. Upon return I found some issues with the apartment and they were on top of helping me. They even gave me a new apartment the day we found out the issues couldn’t be fixed immediately.

He came highly recommended, and exceeded any expectations...always on point, always available with answers, professional, yet extremely personable. Experiencia fantástica: We bought our Whidbey Island home via Windermere as well as our new Granite Falls home. Buying experience was fantastic. They will also be selling our Whidbey home and we look forward to that experience. Windermere staff really know their markets and care about their customers.

Experiencia negativa: My fiance and I have been looking for a place for her to move into and a few months ago we found the one that would work but when we scheduled a meeting no one showed up so i called and rescheduled but someone put the money down so I couldn't get her there. We let it go said no biggy well then another place came up and they rejected both our applications, but they only rejected mine because they rejected hers. So if i had one piece of small advice. Use someone other than Windermere!

I would recommend Tara Property mng. They too work for the owner but are able to maintain integrity and advocate for the renter.

Experiencia negativa: IF YOURE IN THE MILITARY DO NOT RENT FROM THEM...they will screw you over. Got back 400$ out of a 1200$ security deposit. We left the apartment spotless and much nicer than when we moved in. There were a few scuffs on the walls from moving furniture out but nothing major and they charged nearly 350 just for that. We even had all the carpets professionally cleaned. Terrible property management. Will never reccomend or use again.

Experiencia negativa: Renting from Windermere Oak Harbor has been the single most stressful and time-wasting experience I have gone through in my 4 years of living in Oak Harbor. While living in one of their properties, they were slow to respond to maintenance requests for the apartment (requiring multiple maintenance requests before taking action), gave no heads-up when building maintenance was being performed, and seemingly weren't able to answer their phones during business hours. After moving out, Jacklyn Allen was slow to respond to e-mails, leaving my roommate and I in the dark about the status of our moving-out inspections and processing. Two and a half months after turning in our keys, we received what little was left of our security deposit and a non-specific receipt totaling more than $900 for "wall repairs" (that weren't required) and "removal of items" (we left nothing behind in the apartment). But, maybe Ms. Allen is just a poor property manager and ours is an isolated experience. If you are active duty military, do not rent from this company. I really wish it was possible to leave a half-star review.

They gave no itemized list of what needed to be repaired and charged me for over 400 dollars! I turned my keys in before the end of March and it took them till May 15th to close out my account and give me what very little of my security deposit remained. I put in multiple work order requests that would not get addressed until I had put in for the same one 3 times!! Horrible service and they take every penny they can!

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely despicable. Thousands of dollars in hidden, major issues with the plumbing. We are still fighting them over finishing the repairs they were required to do as per the repair request. The realtor we had the displeasure of working with kept bringing out people who mentioned "Mc Guyvering" something when talking about the required repairs. The same realtor kept saying how "nice" she was being with the repairs (that were agreed upon and she was REQUIRED) to do. This is a nightmare. This is our first home. We moved here with my husband's job and this is what we have to deal with on top of a cross country move. The pictures are highly abbreviated cliff notes. The picture of the shower is raw sewage.

Experiencia negativa: These people are EXTREMELY rude. They are my property management so whenever I would bring something up they were always snappy. So I decided to just purchase a home and ended up with a real Estate agent from Windermere. I was very skeptical about dealing with Windermere again. Wow the difference in attitudes is astonishing!! Stay away from Windermere property management. I do recommend their real estate agents.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I have been working with Julie Kinnaird searching and securing a home here in Oak Harbor. We came to the market unexpectedly and only in town for a week to view homes. Julie made/is making the entire process absolutely stress free. She is very knowledgeable about the market, does her research about each property in depth and most of all, of highest priority, Julie is just a wonderful human being. You can tell that she cares about you, is a strong advocate for your situation and wants to assist in any and every way to land you in your dream home. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is, in my humble opinion, if you need to find a home and want to be sure you’re getting someone who is straight forward, eager, available and caring then look no further than Julie. She’s a rockstar.

The realator said she would schedule another apointment time seeing as that the other was cancelled and i never got a call back. We waited a week for a showing and was insured we were the first in line to see it. Come to find out it has been rented and we never were even informed! This is the second time this company has not kept up with its word. I strongly suggest you try to find another avenue when finding a house in Oak Harbor. Trying to save you and your family the headache and wasted time.

Jennifer was extremely helpful; ready to answer any questions about the home almost immediately. Their staff is professional as well as the maintenance crews that they use. When I first rented, they explained to me that any damage to property while in my care was my responsibility (come on, renters, that's a no-brainer!). If I had any upkeep needs, they responded quickly with quality service. I strongly disagree with the negative review of Jennifer. For me, a single mother and new to this area, Jennifer bent over backwards to make sure that I was comfortable and familiar with the community. She was one of the first friendly faces I met here and one of the first to make me feel welcome. Jennifer helped me with school district and child care recommendations, as well as other local extra-curricular opportunities. I was so happy with Windermer that I eventually used them as my realtor to BUY the house I was renting. This process,too, was smooth and easy - they handled the details flawlessly. I am a Windermere fan for life.

The front office is knowledgeable, and kind there is always someone available to answer questions or give recommendations. The real star of Windermere Rentals is Jason McFadyen. Jason can always be reached via phone, text, or email and is professional and courteous. I had to move for the military on incredibly short notice, and Jason helped find my family several rental options within hours. Jason always went above and beyond to make sure that my family was taken care of and that we had the proper resources to move in and out of our homes. When it finally came time to PCS, Jason kept in touch to ensure a smooth transition. We could not be happier to have rented with Windermere and definitely recommend to all of our friends.

We were matched with the perfect property for our needs. Jennifer worked with us on affording the pet deposit. Any concerns we had about the property have been addressed and remedied immediately. As a retired military family returning to the area after 3 years, we couldn’t be more pleased with Windermere as our property management company. We had some credit problems when we first applied and they were willing to work with us and 5 years later they've always treated us right. As things need fixed they are quick to repair and are honest and upfront about changes, lease renewals etc. I'm thankful to have found Jason McFadyen and his staff!

Experiencia negativa: We applied for a place with Windermere. Our FAMILY consists of myself, my husband, our 3 kids, and my disabled mother. We mentioned OFTEN that this was a great place for the SIX of us, and how we REHOMED our dogs because the property didn't allow pets. After taking our 3 application fees (because my disabled mom needed to apply as well), we were approved to go to any other place (no others they had available met our needs in our price range), but we were rejected for the place we applied for because we were considered a group and though the place is set up for 6 people, it's just stretching it. And someone told them we had dogs... So we are out $126 because we were encouraged to apply for a place we were never eligible for. Ethics abandoned.

A couple things I wish were a little more routine but my circumstances were a little odd as I was dealing with work and scheduling- but they fit to my needs fairly seamlessly and seemed to genuinely have my best interest in mind. Looking forward to renting with them, and I'll post another review as time goes on. They absolutely do understand the military by the way, which was one of my worries.
