Negative experience: Seriously? The rent is way too high, and the contract is so restrictive you can't even complain. Oh no, I would never rent from you.
Negative experience: I had the privilege of not renting from Red Apple because even on the phone Shawna was giving me attitude like no other owner has ever given me I was truly astounded. when I was just asking simple questions she made me feel stupid and continuously kept correcting me not even in a kind way. I knew right then and there this wasn’t the company to work with. if you see her responses to negative reviews she is so sarcastic and does not take responsibility for anything. How is a 50 year old something woman acting like a child? Obviously she only cares about herself and does not take into account other peoples’ needs
Fantastic experience: Shawna and her team have been managing my property for 4.5 years and doing a great job. They keep us informed of completed repairs and hold tenants responsible when damage, beyond wear and tear, occur. I also have annual maintenance done on both my water heater and HVAC system, and the team makes sure both are completed in a timely manner.Tenants are clearly informed of expectations and requirements during their lease, and Shawna sets high standards for cleanliness upon move out. I know my investment is in good hands and highly recommend Red Apple to anyone looking for a property manager.
Negative experience: Increasing the rent by 700 a month on a long term rental for a family is the kind of morale choice that literally destroys society.
Negative experience: They are a crappy company, with crappy employees who when you move out will take money from your deposit for a cleaning company to come in and clean up hair and some dust, even though I spent 8 hours cleaning that house. They are awful and horrible people and their house sucked. DO NOT use them as a rental company.

Negative experience: Worst place i have ever lived , had a leak when I moved in messed up the floor, most outlets didnt work, holes in the out side of my house, birds were living in there , fence was broke all 3 years I lived there, had to spray several times for water bugs and we had mice when we first moved in. Walls were molded to, they just painted over both inside and outside to cover up the mold. But they are did keep my deposit. Oh and owener didnt want to fix air unit that's was 30 years old
Negative experience: Just called to inquire about a rental, the person who answered, Shawna I believe, was extremely snarky and down right rude. Is this how you attract potential renters? Anyways if you are looking to rent, I would consider a more polite agency (: Edit: She responded! Wow… you are something else lady lol. You really are being “bold” by posting someone’s personal phone number on a public review. That has to be the absolute least professional behavior I’ve ever seen, and I hope one day you’re held responsible for the things you put people through. Fantastic experience: **update ** my move in was great and any house maintenance requirements have been fullfilled in a fast timely manner by DREW!! Awesome guy!! , This was my first time with RED APPLE , an let me tell you BRIANNA GUZMAN definitely took care of us an made this stress free! Also the photos of the house i was looking at was up to date an current unlike other pictures from other realtors posting pics from back in the 90's instead of current. Thanks to her ill be moving in to my first house with Red apple soon!!

Negative experience: horrible horrible customer service!!!!! They are rude and just awful the ladies in the office are never pleasant and the houses are semi clean and some barely livable
Negative experience: The quality of your rentals are horrible especially for the price tag, and the way you responded to a reviewer makes the decision to lower your rating easy. This is beyond unprofessional.
Negative experience: I was interested in one of the rental properties, and while the house itself is nice the lady on the phone seemed uninterested and rude. After reading other reviews I am no longer interested as they do not have good customer service. I am very disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Despite the negative reviews, we have had an amazing experience with them, and they went above and beyond whenever we discovered some alarming things in the original house we were going to move into. They were able to transfer everything over and get us into another house seamlessly. Communication has been excellent and professional each time via phone and email. We're sad the rent is increasing at our house, but we're moving out of state anyway, so this doesn't affect us on our current lease! I would highly recommend this rental company to anyone in the Abilene area.
Negative experience: Cheap, rushed construction provided many entry points for pests. We dealt with the fallout.
Negative experience: I've had good experiences, and I've had bad experiences. Then there's Red Apple. How's about Rotten Apple. Pam and that entire crew couldn't service homeless people if they were giving tents away for free. Do yourself a favor and go else where, otherwise, you'll regret coming here.

Negative experience: DO NOT RENT FROM RED APPLE REALTORS If I had the option to give negative stars I would. Not only did they decide against renewing our lease for petty reasons, but they also slandered my household on Facebook over having a ramp built in my backyard for my kids to skate. All of this plus the fact that they don’t work with their tenants at all. We were late on one months rent when we first moved in and they tried to evict us after we had already paid rent and all fees for being 2 days late. ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS IT WAS DECEMBER. Needless to say the judge overruled their stupidity and we were able to stay for the remainder of our lease. WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS REFER THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!
Negative experience: Never rented!!! Nobody answers the phone, went inside to ask about a rental, was told to call. Called and set a time to view a property, they never showed then told me they took my number down wrong as the reason why they didn’t show. Also informed us in the same text that they wouldn’t take us anyways because of our dog. Feels like we dodged a bullet.
Fantastic experience: I have used them for property management for the past 4 years. They have been absolutely amazing.
Negative experience: The property I live at for the price I pay is borderline disgusting. 950 for a 3 bedroom house is not bad but when you have to make all plumbing repairs and bug treatment after 30 days yourself it feels like they’re slum lords to an extent. Roaches; caulking in disgusting condition in the bathrooms and generally around the property; no water hose faucet on the outside; mowing is not included; ac is shotty during the summer; has or has had electricity issues; and SOME rude employees. The people that have got me in contact with repair specialists have generally been friendly but Shawna (my realtor) sucks and is generally unfriendly. I really could go on all day about how this home is not acceptable and I know I looked it over but I signed a contract. Ps. I edited this and gave an extra star for Bina helping me with my ac issues and being friendly. Thanks very much.
Negative experience: We moved into a house with Red Apple and lived there for a year and it was an awful situation. If you’re thinking about moving into a house by them don’t do it! Ours was newly renovated but they cut corners everywhere and we didn’t find out until we had already moved in. It was a terrible quality home that had a foundation that was shifting very badly. There was trash buried all over the front and back yards that the renovation crew had just thrown and you could barely open and close doors properly in the house because of how bad the foundation was shifting. The neighbors as well were rude and had viscous dogs that they couldn’t control. One of the dogs attacked our own dog and made us have to go to the emergency vet. Red Apple is more than happy to take your money but when it comes to being responsive on work orders or anything you need help with they’re very slow and give you the run around. The handyman they sent for repairs was lazy and half-did everything. We had skunks under the house and when we tried getting into contact with them they were very unhelpful. We ended up just having to catch the skunks ourselves and have our own person come release them. When we called about them Shawna verbally berated us over the phone and was extremely unhelpful and rude. Be very carful and think twice about renting a house from Red Apple, save yourself the hassle and headache of dealing with them and live somewhere else.
Hello, Jack! So nice to get your classy review from such a classy named fella! The last tenants in this home were Cristina Garcia and Taylor Jones...perhaps y'all misspelled one of your names a bit! Clever! I'm sorry you were displeased with the foundation and settling this house provided. In Abilene, we are built on shifting sand. The ole saying goes in rentals, too: You either have foundation issues OR you’re GONNA GET foundation problems. As a property management company, I don't make repairs on foundations. I would never be able to afford $4,000-$18,000 per home.
The skunks? Mother Nature is a dirty rotten scoundrel.....You had a whole family of skunks under your house, Jack, before we finally trapped them all. I apologize for that taking so long. Some days we can catch them with a chicken leg.....other days we need dynamite and a lot of prayer. It took all of the above for your house to get de-skunked. I'm sorry your neighbors were less than stellar citizens of Abilene town. We can control your neighbors in the same way we can control who's a part of our families: can't be controlled. We all feel helpless in that regard. I'm not quick enough or smart enough to berate someone over the phone. I am not unhelpful and I'm not rude. You and I just had a pleasant conversation about how this review is "not from you in disguise" and how you will be paying off the $800 carpet invoice within the next few months. Would someone rude and unhelpful offer a $0 down 0% finance fee for an $817 bill stretched over 4 months? Nope. I'm sure hoping that the folks that read these reviews have the common sense to recognize that every single review is from a disgruntled tenant, “Jack Mehoff” , or otherwise, and that everyone walks through every property before renting it to confirm that THAT HOME is the one they want. I hope the public knows that if you wreck a house or your dog chews up all the carpet at every doorway that new carpet will be in order and the fee will be passed on to the owner of the dog (no matter how sweet, old and well trained that dog may be.) Good luck, world, as you try to make a decision on rentals by reading past reviews. Our office will be glad to help you if you need a place.
Negative experience: If zero stars were a thing, I would certainly put it here. We got booted out of our place because our dogs had an accident on the floor on the day of our walk-through, which didn’t look good on us at all, but they didn’t give us a chance to rectify anything, and it didn’t happen on the regular. When I tried to rectify, Shawna never let me speak, she kept talking over me and I even got cursed out today and hung up on. I’m sorry, but I don’t think that’s very professional. I don’t care if she’s the owner or not, she has no business treating people that way. She’s going to end up losing her business if she doesn’t watch it. I don’t think that’s very professional and I even told her so, so I will be dealing with this another way. I’m sorry for anyone else who has to deal with this, and that’s not fair to anyone. I paid my rent on time, and every time I called up there, it felt like I was being complained at for some reason or another about something. Or I just got some kind of vibe. You know how you can just tell when people don’t wanna deal with you and that’s how I felt. But you know what? There’s other ways to deal with this, and that’s what I plan to do. they’re trying to make me pay for new floors when the floors and that old trashed out house were bad in the first place that we moved into. I’m sorry, but I’m not paying for new floors when they needed to replace the darn things in the first place.
Positive experience: Nobody returns calls no sense of help for tenants
Fantastic experience: I just wanted to thank Mrs. Bina, for going above and beyond to help me and my family. This was the first time renting from a realtor where I felt I was being listened to. I noted my dislikes and she went to work trying to get these things fixed. I had lots of questions and she answered them all, some even off the clock. She was very friendly and such an amazing person to work with. Thank you Red Apple, and especially you Mrs Bina, for allowing us to become part of the family.
Fantastic experience: Renting from Red Apple has been awesome. I am new to Texas and had a lot question. They answered my questions throughly and they were not rude at all. They have always been professional with me. The end of my lease walk through was great. I will definitely continue to rent from Red Apple until I am ready to buy a house. I would definitely recommend them to responsible adults.
Negative experience: If zero starts was a thing.... this would be a first. We lived in a rental property for two years. When we moved in, it wasn't up to par cleanliness wise as we were told someone would clean before move in....I regret not taking pictures at move in. But fast forward to move out. We hired a cleaning service to clean the house as we always do when we move because we always have gotten our deposits back this way. Apparently not this time. Shawna, the owner/broker of Red Apple is rude, condescending and extremely unprofessional when it comes to dealing with issues and disputes. It's unfortunate to have someone in charge who is wreckless with their behavior and customs service. Word of mouth travels fast and far however. With enough bad reviews because of her, maybe it'll make a difference or maybe not. But I warn anyone that is considering Red Apple to reconsider. There are plenty of realtors who will appreciate a good tenant who pays on time and often really. I had a friend who experience the same thing and I regret not listening.
Negative experience: I am currently commiserating with my roommate who I lived with in a Red Apple Realty House five years ago. To say the experience was traumatic would be an understatement. There are states where such living arrangements would have been illegal. The rodent situation could not have been more horrendous, an inspector found 16 access points for rodents of all sizes to enter, and they sure did enter. And that bill? It sure was put on us. Stay away from this company. Stay away these houses. At least read the other 1 star reviews first.
Fantastic experience: I have used Red Apple for my property management for the last three years. Wouldn't use anyone else.
Negative experience: All residents get an email after they move in telling them they are only allowed to use one ply toilet paper on all Red Apple properties because most properties are old. How about you fix the plumbing issues. Demanding renters use one ply toilet paper is just ridiculous.
Negative experience: Today l called Red Apple Realtors to see about a house for rent in Abilene Clyde or Tye. A lady by the name of Shawna said that all the houses were rented in all the areas I never helped me with any rental houses. I feel like I'm being discriminated against because I'm Hispanic or because they listen to a lot of gossip. I will follow a complaint in the morning I guess this lady Shawna for being rude and not wanting to help me because I'm poor and need assistance with HUD. She did not even care to help me.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional. They posted an eviction notice on my front door, that was meant for my neighbor. I don't even rent from them, and never will, based on numerous complaints from friends who do. No apology from the Apple employee, not to mention the embarrassment of neighbors witnessing the event.

Fantastic experience: Top shelf operation here! Going through the approval process was simple and easy. Every time I have spoken to a staff member they have been attentive, kind, courteous, and respectful. Tenants just got an email about tips for winter and HVAC filters, etc. I found that email to be helpful and very wise! This company takes care of the owners whose homes they are handling and takes care of its tenants as well. Great company! Thanks, Red Apple!!

Fantastic experience: I have recently started renting from this company and before we moved in they did things to the home to make it more kid friendly for my little one by adding a fence to enclose the gate. The price was lower then other realtors that I had before.

I'm good with your policy but don't try to put my business out there when I said nothing about you and your business. All I did was put a one star and left it at that. When I told you about the eviction I told you that in private and I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't put my personal business out there on the internet like this please. Negative experience: Will never recommend this realtor. Friend of mine was looking for rental house and she found something she liked but this was first place she was looking at. She paid fee for credit check, went to look at duplex and loved it but because she is a good consumer wanted to check out other places. She knew the realtors could not hold duplex for her and when they texted few days later she told realtors that she was not ready to proceed with officially renting duplex (which was a lovely duplex). So yesterday after looking at several rental properties my friend was able to wisely make a decision that the Red Apple duplex was the best. So she communicated that she was interested in duplex but was told it was taken. That was disappointing but there was another property she was interested in seeing. BUT they said "we are unable to move forward renting to you at this time". She was told they would not show her another property. Because she backed out of renting duplex. This is first business I know that does not want to do business and make money. They gave NO good reason for not wanting to do business with my friend except that she did not sign on the dotted line the minute she first viewed the property. She has never been treated like this EVER!!! So I would give RED APPLE REALTORS 4 NEGATIVE STARS!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. I paid for my applications, was told I needed to come see the property before they could process the applications. We are a military family making a move from 4 hours away. They run my application and see a history of property on my application, that was not correct. The agent asked me to provide documentation that it has been resolved, I told her to give me a moment to get the paper work over to them. When I finally get the information I call back to get an email to send over the documentation that states the report was incorrect, and has been resolved. Shawnda then gets on the phone and tells me that she is taking the property off the market. I asked for her name again and she says “Oh are you recording now?” Which I in fact was, because of her unprofessional attitude. The house is in fact still on the market. Never have I ever dealt with such an unprofessional person especially in a situation like this when we are trusting someone to help with finding a home. I have come to read the other reviews and she leaves nasty comments to other reviews, unprofessional and childish behavior. We have made several moves being in the military and have never come across someone so rude. Do not recommend
Negative experience: Rented a duplex from them and put in work requests for several items, including bare outlets that sunk in the wall, bathroom sink that sprayed everywhere when turned on, holes in sheetrock inside kitchen cabinet from plumbing repair exposing inside wall and crawl space vent that let in cats. Office email told me to call their "maintenance man". He told me that he couldn't fix my requests because he just won a bid for a project. These are the types of people redapple hires: undependable! I even offered to do minor repairs in the home, which I do for a living, if they would lower the rent,, but they said no. Still was not repaired when I broke the lease, and I have pics to prove it!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Red Apple, REALTORS. We’ve been extremely happy with their level of service with our rental property and Shawna provides us with a very detailed newsletter every month. She’s responsive, extremely knowledgeable and hard working. We have experience dealing with many property managers and Shawna from Red Apple is by far one of the best!

Negative experience: Unfortunately unprofessional and bad business etiquette..we had an issue since we got this rental with Ms. Shawna, after deposit was made early she stopped communicating. She was rude and blamed us for not having utilities on for our move in as well. Staff also unprofessional and rude no knowledge at all. Rude comments and bad attitudes about helping their tenants. They don't care about being in good standing with residents to get more future business or referrals. They give real estate a bad name. It's unbelievable how we got treated.
Negative experience: Shawna was very unprofessional very rude said she was gonna do things and fix things in the house before I moved in... said the grass would be cut,never got done...I moved out the grass was not as long as it was when I moved in... she changed me 80 for the grass for not being cut..then she told me befor I move in that she would have the back cleaned up never did I did it was very rude and Not professional at all Attention please be aware of this woman being a crook And taken advantage of people
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Red Apple. As a military family, being away is inevitable. However, ever since we left our property at the management of Red Apple, all our worries have been put at ease. Our property has been maintained and kept up with at the management of Red Apple. Shawna has been professional and continues to make the process easier for us. She has kept us informed about important housing matters and has helped us address and manage any issues that have arisen.
Negative experience: No a professional at all. Treats clients as an inconvenience. Shawna was very inconsistent. She used multiple phone numbers and text both me and my husband randomly even at 10 pm and then does not reposed to messages. She did not fix the things she said she would. She bribed others to give her a 5 star rating. I would not recommend.

Negative experience: Shawna was a nightmare to deal with!!!, water pipes in our rental house broke 4 times and tried sticking us with the bill, all the “new flooring” came up and we were stuck with the bill to fix it when we moved out, but yet the flooring came up in every room. Does not support the troops, had to have my higher ups get in contact with her and she had to respect for them, saying that it was a buddy calling although it was my shop chief
Negative experience: Extremely rude and poor customer service! Shawna was not helpful in the least bit. Her attitude was substandard and unpleasant! I don’t know how Red Apple is even still in business with a person like that answering the telephone.

The Realtor who helped me through the whole process, Heather, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and all the paperwork involved went easily and smoothly. I would Recommend Red Apple Realtors and would use them again!!
Negative experience: I do not recommend using Red Apple, Realtors. For one. Shawna is a hateful person and put an ex tenants personal business in a response to a one star review! That is extremely unprofessional and unethical! You can not do that just because you get your feelings hurt! Their properties have bugs, they will not fix anything, and have fake reviews put up for her... Well all I can say is I'm gonna talk to some of my friends with the BBB and just see what can be done! But folks their are so many more realtors that you can go through that are here in the Big Country!!!
Negative experience: Alot of fake five star reviews on here...dont rent from Shawna at any cost.. .And if you do ask about bugs because they won't tell you about anything and if you make a fuss Shawna will be rude and evict..hopefully eventually karma catches up to them
Fantastic experience: Shawna at Red Apple helped us find a wonderful rental on short notice when we first moved to Abilene. Two years later, when we were ready to buy a home, we called on her again, and I am so glad we did! Shawna was easy to communicate with and was readily available to show properties and answer questions. As first time homebuyers, we had lots to learn, but she walked us through the entire process flawlessly. One of the things I appreciated most about her was that she listened and worked to understand what we wanted; she never pressured us or tried to persuade us. We ended up with a property we LOVE, and I am so thankful Shawna helped get us here! Highly recommend :)

Negative experience: Wish there was a zero star option. Worst rental experience of my life. When we moved in there were roaches all over the house (including in the fridge). Had to give it a good scrubbing before we could move in. After multiple reminders about repairs that needed to be made, we gave up trying. There was never a closet door installed in a bedroom(which we were told would happen before we moved in) ceiling fans didn’t work, and dishwasher is a glorified dishdrainer. Will never go back with this company. Upon move out we were told the house was not cleaned (a water main break caused water to be turned off while we needed to be cleaning, but we swept, vacuumed, and wiped down with bleach). Were told that the walls were dirty, but if you scrub the walls the paint comes off. Good luck to the next tenants on Marsalis. Happy to be out of this company’s empty promises.

Negative experience: If I could rate zero stars I would. That's how bad this place was for me, an utter nightmare.
Negative experience: Red Apple is the worst realtors to rent from.They are a office full of liars.Will evicted you for no reason.Check your rental property before moving in.My 4yr.old has lead poisoning and they tried to make it like it's my fault the was tested and came back positive with lead.Shawna Abernathy should have her realtors like Iicenses snatched from her and Mindy need her job taking from her.They favorite words when you tell them something needs fixed is if you don't like it move out... Horrible people to have to deal with...I was evicted because I reported then to better business bureau.Evicted with 4 kids and I'm due any day....
Negative experience: This is an office full of people who like to shop at craft stores. Their realty professionalism could use some polishing. We had trouble with a leasing firm there and the agent continued to ensure us that the business was not going to be a problem. It turned into a nightmare. Ultimately we feel that the agent lied to us to make a buck.
Negative experience: If you are looking for good service with knowledgeable and helpful agents, then Do Not go here. The attitude here is if you don't know all the ins and outs of buying a home, too bad; not our job to make you aware of those little things that add up to big headaches, loss of money and additional stress during a stressful time.
