We're first time home buyers, and even though we did as much self-learning education we could, he taught us there was always more and more to learn during the home buying process. Even though we had a hard time deciding between single family homes (Detached) and town homes/Condos (Attached), Ryan was always patient with us. He was with us every step of the way with great insights on affordability, explaining how home offers work, even when we decided to switch our search locations! Fantastic experience: Ryan and his team were fantastic and provided excellent support and advice throughout the whole experience. For me, not only was it my first time buying a home, but I was relocating my family out of state, which made things that much more daunting. We chose to go with Ryan as our agent as we felt he seemed honest and straightforward, and we never lost that feeling. Negative experience: Ryan is very rude and has a nonchalant attitude. He acted as if he didn't want to answer my questions and that he was doing me a favor. FYI, you're not the only realtor around. I'm sure you lose business frequently. I would suggest you don't work with him personally.

Fantastic experience: Dena was absolutely invaluable in helping our family relocate from Nebraska! She made time to show us houses on our first short visit, and then when one location fell through, she found another that was similar, but better! Fantastic experience: I worked with Ryan to purchase my first condo, and I can't say enough about how good the experience was. StartingPoint was exactly what I needed, since as a first time homebuyer I had a lot of questions (I'm talking about an unreasonable amount of questions). Ryan took the time to answer each and every one, never once seeming even the slightest bit annoyed, and answered them completely and well. We viewed a lot of properties before we found the one that was right for me (almost certainly more than the average buyer) and again Ryan offered patience and great guidance. I've focused a bit on how well I was treated, but it should be noted that Ryan was a wealth of knowledge about the buying process and possesses a deep knowledge about the city and buying trends. I'd strongly recommend StartingPoint to anyone looking to purchase property, but particularly for the first time buyer.

Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable, trustworthy, awesome: Consider yourself lucky if you get to work with Ryan! The process of buying a home requires that one make many decisions about all aspects of life, ranging from how long you want to stay in your current job to whether you want to live within walking distance to the grocery store (and whether you are willing to give up that second bedroom to be able to do so). Every place you walk into forces you to re-evaluate all of these decisions. You are essentially making many bets about the future course of your life. It can be exciting and it can also be overwhelming. Fortunately, there's an important solution to the overwhelming part: Starting Point Realty! Ryan was there for me every step of the way, starting with decision #1 (do I even want to buy a place?) when he met with me for 2 hours to explain the whole process and ending with my closing when he called me in the morning to explain what was going to happen that day. Ryan clearly loves to educate clients on the whole real estate process. He will get to know your likes and dislikes and financial realities, or help you clarify them if you're not so sure. He will then remind you of your own preferences and realities when you become temped by the gorgeous dining room (and you will) or second bedroom that will cost an additional $100k (it would be cheaper to reserve a room at the Ritz for your once-a-year guests). I can't imagine that there are many agents who will tell you when a place is too expensive and that you'll ruin your life from being house poor if you buy it! But he will never impose his own preferences on you: he'll gently remind you of your own. And he'll patiently guide and coach you until you find the right place at the right price for you. I looked for about a year and a half before signing on the dotted line and never felt pressure to act on something that didn't feel right. And after that year and a half, I ended up buying something very similar to one of the first condos Ryan ever showed me.
