Negative experience: Unnecessarily cruel and absolutely devastating experience with Matt Harnick. He absolutely does not care about you or your family, and I would not trust him or his team with your business. I was looking for apartments throughout the past month as I was facing housing insecurity. He has had me go through multiple steps of his application process, with very little communication, often waiting over a week for a response. He blamed me for following steps incorrectly even though his management gave me the incorrect steps to follow. Then he canceled on me last minute, because he is "a one-man band" and "very busy" which has left me facing housing insecurity. I still do not have housing to this day, and when I told him and his team this, in tears, they actively ignored me and still have not replied. This is an incredibly upsetting experience. I know most people who work with him and his team are buying / selling properties and not renting them. But at the end of the day, there is a very apparent lack of empathy from Matt. Do you want someone who does not take accountability and does not care about your best interest to help you with buying and selling your forever home?

Fantastic experience: We came into the home buying process pretty intimidated as first-time home buyers in a market that everyone told us was absolutely insane. We were worried about trying to work with a realtor who was going to be pushy and sales focused that wouldn’t listen to us or consider our needs, fortunately a friend of my moms recommended Matt and it is probably THE BEST thing that happened to us in this journey. One of the things that really stood out to us in our first meeting with Matt and Michelle was that it seemed like they were really listening to what our plan, limitations, and needs were and really took that into consideration right away. We were really impressed that instead of just telling us not to worry or that it would all just be fine, Matt gave it to us straight and let us know that maybe it would take a longer time and maybe we wouldn’t find the right thing right away. Honestly this might sound discouraging but it was an incredible relief to my husband and I because it showed us that Matt wasn’t just going to tell us what we wanted to hear and wasn’t going to gloss over issues or lead us into a bad situation for the sake of making the sale. Honestly we got really lucky in a ton of ways, our first day out to a showing Michelle found us another one in the area to look at last minute, it was the second house we saw, we made an offer, and it was accepted. A miracle! Something I loved was a moment in the offer process where Matt called us up and basically said, "Remember everything I said yesterday? FORGET IT!" and came in with a new plan that was way better for us. That ability to be intuitive, flexible, and adjust to the situation as it changes is so things go as well as possible is seriously awesome. Matt and Michelle were really communicative through the whole super stressful offer process and guided us through giving us lots of info and guidance along the way. They helped us in critical time-sensitive moments at all days of the week and hours, and even on vacation (sorry Matt!). Any moment where some small weird thing came up or we had a question they were flexible and came up with solutions on the spot, which was really reassuring. Once the offer was accepted Matt and Michelle really set us up with schedules and everything we needed, kept us informed and on track, and hooked us up with professionals they trusted to do things like inspections, and also to help us with work on the house once we closed. We also used the lender recommended by them after our original one wasn’t a good match for us and that made a huge difference as well and was a big relief to us. Through everything we felt like we were kept in the loop and doing the right things at the right time. They made a really intimidating and stressful process feel easy, honestly. I kept thinking there must be something else we were missing because everything went so smoothly! Post-closing they still help us with questions and recommendations for professionals when we need them and it’s great to know they continue to be part of our team. The cherry on top is how awesome it is just hanging out with them, they’re such nice people! Closing was a blast and we had a great time talking with the team while we signed. I would highly recommend the Harnick team to anyone buying a home. Feeling comfortable and confident in our team really made all the difference and we were miraculously able to navigate this market successfully with them leading the way.
