Fantastic experience: Stayed at Fish Tale on Castle Lake and had a great time with family. Very quiet on an inlet with windows and balcony facing out to the water to enjoy your daily meals and coffee…or cocktail. Used the provided watercraft to get out on the water. The owners were very responsive throughout. Recommend it to get away from it all.

Fantastic experience: Our stay at the Pleasant View Haus in the Dells was wonderful. The cabin is quaint and well maintained. (just could you a few more light in the living room area) The best part was the morning and evening visits by the deer. So beautiful!

Fantastic experience: This is a good house for families with children. The house is big enough for adults and all ages of children. The house is clean, organized and the kitchen is well stocked.

Positive experience: The cabin was wonderful. It fit our family of 10 comfortably. It had everything we needed for our week stay. We only wish there were 2 showers. We had to time the shower rotation carefully since the master bathroom has only a jet tub and that went unused among our guests.

Positive experience: Pine Cottage. Lovely home awesome area to swim and have a fire with the family. We had a minor inconvenience and they made it right ten fold.

Fantastic experience: Our stay at the Seth Peterson Cottage was absolutely amazing! The location feels very secluded and remote - yet is close enough to town for any necessities during your stay. The cottage itself was fantastic. Very clean for how rustic it felt. There are heated floors but the real warmth came from the fireplace in the center of the cabin. We highly recommend this place to any Frank Lloyd Wright fans... or to anyone who would enjoy a quiet, rustic, getaway. There is no television -and we thought that was a nice perk. Hauling in firewood and reading was a lovely way to unplug from the world for a weekend.

Fantastic experience: The Badgerado II is an excellent log home for a group gathering. It's clean, well maintained and a perfect location on Castle Rock lake.

Fantastic experience: We always love the solitude we experience while staying at the Seth Peterson Cottage on Mirror Lake. The setting is beautiful, the walks in the woods relaxing and when it's warm enough we like to take out the canoes and paddle on Mirror Lake. The kitchen is nice to cook in and this small home has almost everything you need. The bed (a full size) and shower are small, and you need to bring your own coffee, but other than that, it's paradise.

Positive experience: Nice place to get away from the city. Liked that dogs were welcome. Everything was as advertised. The biggest complaint (why I didn't rate this as a 5) is because the air conditioners are very noisy and squeal at a high pitch. Made it very hard to sleep-which is what your supposed to do on vacation. There is also a short step from the living room into the screened in porch area that is not marked and is a trip hazard. It really needs to be addressed. I would recommend this cottage if the air conditioners are fixed.

Negative experience: Avoid at All Costs – Both Renters and Owners Beware Our recent stay at a property managed by Sandy County Service Company was hands-down the worst rental experience we’ve ever had. If this is their idea of “management,” it’s nothing more than collecting checks while ignoring basic upkeep, cleanliness, and guest safety. The home we rented was filthy on arrival — dust, debris, dead bugs, trash under the bed, and a comforter that was clearly unwashed. The deck was covered in animal feces, the yard overgrown, the fire pit unusable, and mosquitoes made the outdoors unbearable. Inside, we dealt with dangerously overloaded outlets, a two-hour power outage, and a musty, mold-like odor that never went away. We contacted Sandy County Service Company three separate times after our stay to give them a chance to make things right. We provided details, photos, and a reasonable request for partial compensation given the state of the property. Each time, they refused to take responsibility or work with us in any meaningful way. For renters, this means paying premium rates for a substandard, unsafe, and poorly maintained property — and knowing that if something goes wrong, you’ll be ignored. For owners, it’s a warning: your investment will be neglected, your reputation damaged, and your guests left unhappy, which ultimately hurts your bottom line. There are plenty of management companies that care about the properties they oversee and the people who stay in them. Sandy County Service Company is not one of them. NOTE: I wish we had more photos, but we were too busy cleaning and trying to salvage a ruined vacation.

Positive experience: Been staying here for years. Great location for hanging out on the lake for fishing and boating.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time at our condo this week! Some of our favorite things were the fact that it was right off the pool, the condo’s beautiful decor, all the fun music and movies provided, the popcorn maker :-) the ambience outside, the trail down to the river & 2 TVs with availability to apps. We will definitely be coming back!

This will be my 2nd time using them & will absolutely continue to use them going forward when I’m traveling to the dells area!

Positive experience: They have their own rental site of about 10-20 places in the dells area. Second time I've used them. One thing I learned from my Credit Card (CC) statement - they list as "Miscellaneous-REAL ESTATE AGENTS AND MANAGERS RENTALS" and not as hotel, if you're trying to get CC points under travel category(and the person making reservation actually told they are categorized as "travel" - FALSE), coz they charge a hefty CC usage fees, that you wont recoup from your CC points. Besides the cabin rental charges, there are Damage Waiver $100.00 Cleaning Fee $100.00 Processing Fee $45.00, CC fee - $20. Adds up quick. Wonderful true log cabins, both the times we got with a wood burning fireplace that we enjoyed. The Happy Heaven property was great, 3 BR, and queen futon - sleeps 8. Amenities: full kitchen and utensils, but NO dishwasher. You typically carry in groceries to cook in, as most of their properties are fairly remote. So not having a dishwasher, when cooking and eating in, was missed. Washing utensils on vaca - ughhh, never again. Had washer, dryer - that we did use. Linens for bathrooms, no hairdryer. The basement had a entertainment area: pool table crampy to actually play, some arcade games, jukebox that do NOT work, but there on the property pictures - my kids were very disappointed. Only thing that works is the dart board, and that was fun. So overall have to weigh in all these aspects, when comparing with other properties you see on the popular hotel sites.

Fantastic experience: Staying in the Seth Andersen Cottage was exceptionally memorable. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Everything we needed to know was anticipated and communicated clearly. Top-notch experience. Magical place.

Fantastic experience: The Vintage Lake Cottage was very nice. The cabin was quaint and comfy. My family Loved the living room, sun room, and the fire pit. It looked exactly like the photos on the Website. We also loved looking out over the lake. It was also close to some fun activities around the area. We had a great time!!

Fantastic experience: My group of 8 women has been using Sand County Vacation Home Rentals for over 20 years to book our Dells girls weekend. Their staff is excellent and the ease of check in and checkout is amazing! We've stayed at many different homes depending on the size of our group each year and all have been clean and pretty much as advertised! If we ever had an issue or needed something, the staff is quick to respond.

Fantastic experience: Was nice being right on the lake. My son wanted to go for his 13th birthday and go fishing.. wouldn't recommend for fishing though since most people near by were boating, jumping on and off their boats swimming and riding jet skis so wouldn't recommend for fishing but otherwise a nice place to stay! Was still a peaceful area to stay. When we went to pick up our keys they were very nice and helpful!

Fantastic experience: Loved the simplicity and ambience of this beautiful cottage in the woods. The Sand county service company was always available for questions with outstanding customer service. We are looking forward to being back in the fall!

Negative experience: The cabin was not clean, and it smelled like a critter died inside. The toilet was disgusting! We left and got a hotel. I do not recommended this company!!

Fantastic experience: The house was nice and big to hold my guests but still cozy to relax it was clean and well maintained we were impressed with the design and how the cabin was built truly a great experience overall minutes away from downtown dells so we didn't have to spend alot of time driving long ways to get to bars and other attractions I been dealing with sand county rentals for over ten years and everything has always been smooth and trouble free

Fantastic experience: I stayed at a vrbo in Baraboo, WI, managed by Sand County Vacation Home Rentals. Beautiful cabin! Sand county was always prompt and responsive to my questions. Great company, highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We rented this home over New Year's weekend to celebrate the holidays as a family. There were 8 adults and 3 kids plus we have 4 family members who visited for a few hours and we had plenty of room. Plus, this property allows dogs which is awesome as our pups are part of the family! The lake is beautiful and the deck is awesome. Really a great property. We needed to reach out to the office and got a live person immediately which is a big plus! A couple of things to note for renters: 1. There is nothing on hand in the kitchen as far as spices, cleaning supplies, storage containers, etc. All dishes are supplied but you will want to be sure to bring salt, pepper, spices, storage containers for leftovers, paper products and any cleaning supplies you use in the kitchen. Dishes were adequate for our needs. 2. There are no extra pillows and blankets. This worked out OK for us as the house was nice and warm but we would have loved to have extra pillows. Beds have sheets and light quilt and pillows so are adequate but if you need any extras bring them along. 3. There was evidence that mice are in the house (ie: poop). I know this happens in the winter sometimes and I let management know and they were very apologetic and let me know they do contract with Orkin and would be following up with them. Not a huge deal to us as we live in the country and know how it goes sometimes. Overall I would highly recommend this property for a large group. We had a great 3 day stay and would come back again!

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Lake Haus for 10 glorious days and had an amazing time. The house has a nice setup and flow for the 8 people that stayed there, with two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. We had a couple of odds and ends issues with the house, and the folks at Sand County were exceptionally attentive and wonderful to work with. It’s a lake house, so if you’re expecting hotel-level amenities you might want to just stay at a hotel, this is a home and is comfortable but is not a hotel. It has a couple of boats available and the lake is calm and lovely. We look forward to staying here again.

Fantastic experience: My family has been staying at Sand County properties for over 10 years. We really enjoy the Happy Heaven log home in the woods. Fantastically quiet and only 15 minutes from the Dells, and the Lemonweir river is a minute walk out the back door. George in the office treats us like family, he is such a nice guy. We have out 2024 vacation planned out already and Sand County Rentals is the place to call!

Fantastic experience: I've been dealing with Sand County for several years. The properties are accurately described on their website, and there are multiple photos shown. I usually make my reservations by phone so that I can get answers to any additional questions I have. The staff has always been very friendly and courteous, and making reservations has been very easy. When there has been any minor problem with the property after arrival, the staff has always been very helpful and has promptly solved any issues. I've enjoyed my vacations at their properties, and will continue to use their services in the future.

Fantastic experience: Lifetime memories made! This very clean, very large home was perfect for our 11 member family vacation. There was lots of room for group fun but the layout provided plenty of room for privacy too. The close access to all of the Wisconsin Dells activities was a plus. The kitchen was very well furnished (10 cup coffeemaker, no Kuerig) and the nice selection of games and lake equipment met our every need. Our only suggestion would be to have a small area of walk in lake access for swimmers. We hope to return again next year to Dells Edge on Lake Mason.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful stay it was! The cabin was the perfect size to accommodate our family and it had all the “vacation feels” that we’ve come to cherish over the years on Parker Lake! The view was perfect, (with plenty of seating to enjoy it from anywhere in and around the cabin) and the condition/cleanliness of the cabin was more than satisfactory. We enjoyed being able to utilize the fishing boat, fire pit and grill as well! The cabins we used to rent on the lake experienced some severe damage due to flooding and we were worried that our family tradition of a reunion in Oxford wouldn’t be in the cards for us this summer. But, this rental allowed us to continue sharing treasured moments with our family and making more memories. Thank you for both your kindness and for making us feel so welcomed. We truly cannot wait to return!

Fantastic experience: The house at Bluff View is gorgeous, nestled in nature, yet still close to all the activity The Dells has to offer. We had a group of 10 that was very comfortable throughout our stay. The rooms/beds were comfortable and the common living areas are very spacious. There are places to sit and socialize on the upper deck and lower patio as well as a huge fire pit with seating lower in the yard. Everything about this property was perfect for hosting our annual family vacation!

Positive experience: My daughter had to clean the upstairs bathroom- shower had hair in it, urine around the toilet, and entire floor was dirty. Rowboat oar was also broken so we had to fix that. Lake was nice and quiet. Other than two items mentioned we enjoyed our stay.

Positive experience: I keep trying to post a review on the actual home we stayed in on the company's website, but I am guessing they're blocking it. We stayed at dells Edge on Lake Mason and were very disappointed. The pictures showed the house as having an actual beach area into the lake and there was no such thing. It was a 3 foot patch of sand covered in goose poop, straight into some huge rocks, not safe to actually use at all. We planned our whole trip around that beach and were very disappointed. Also, the listing said it had 4 bathrooms, but left out that only 2 of those were full bathrooms. 2 showers for 13 people was very difficult. The listing is misleading in many ways. Giving 3 stars because the house was very well stocked and the great room was a great place for our kids.

Positive experience: The house was beautiful and decorated so cute. Had everything we needed. Just out the sliding doors you can see the lake and walk right to it. Only thing that was disappointing was the mattresses. Very old and you could feel the springs in your back. All beds were like this. Also, wish a little more time went into dusting the place but honestly other than that we loved our vacation.

Positive experience: It is a roof over your head... But for the price, you would expect the toilets to stop running after being flushed and the washer/dryer to not sound like you are being shot at. Plus all the cracked windows don't really add to the atmosphere well. There is a double oven, nice pantry, 3 floors, and a fire pit. You are far enough away from the main drag that you'll want to drive.

Fantastic experience: We have stayed in the Baderado on Castle Rock Lake twice now for a girls weekend for 10. This house is beautiful, clean and well stocked! The commercial refrigerator and freezer are great for lots of food storage. There is ample seating for everyone which is another thing that is hard to find in a big rental. We loved it both times!

Positive experience: Great value, clean and updated cabins

Negative experience: Peaceful Pines cabin has alot of potential but is not worth the money. Extremely dirty and needs alot of work. Broken fireplace, lights that do not work, faulty kitchen sink, unfinished floor work, windows that do not open/close, mattresses that you can feel each individual spring in you back. Cobwebs all over, trash not taken out, stained toilet seat, fireplace not cleaned out, dirty utensils. The list goes on and on. We did love the location: out in the middle of woods and near spectacular hiking trails. Not worth the money that we spent.

Negative experience: We rent house under their menagement 222 Grouse drive,Brrigsville,Wi it was the worst experience . Dust everywhere all over the house every second light in the house not working,they not even clean the snow from the patio, gym machines not working only 1 small tv in cabin with 7 bedrooms . They said we do not provide service its covid becouse they know half of their amenities are out of service . Avoid their cabins by any cost its very poorly maintained

Negative experience: I spoke to Dana, the owner. After speaking she emailed me there property management packet, which I read front to back so I would know what the company brings to the table. I emailed a couple questions and the response was “I’m out of town till X (three weeks from them). Reach back out to me then”. I had already reached out to you. None of my questions were answered in the email and I was told to wait three weeks and then reach out to her, not that she would call me. There management fees are on the very high side of the market. With this high fee structure I expected excellent service. That is not what I received. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our 6 children and grandchildren. The house was perfect and had everything we wanted and needed. The site was quiet and peaceful with wildlife. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. We highly reccomend it.

Negative experience: When contacted about an interest in a vacation home rental for a group of friends and I, they told me that it was rented out to "tenants" for the next four months. Details were given regarding a month-to-month basis ($1600/month with everything included depending on the owner) but then they would not disclose information for the owner of those homes to be reached at as "this was a special for some of her friends" and "she doesn't normally do month to month." No consistency in information, pricing or lodging. I will be looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: We have been using Sand County for over 6 years! Marci is very helpful in the office with getting reservations booked and questions answered. I’ve been to 4 different properties of theirs and they have all been clean and great!

Negative experience: Overpriced, clean but rickety cabins. We booked a cabin and a cancellation reservation. Then we later tried to cancel and the wouldn't refund our money. Even the we paid almost 100$ so we would be able to cancel. Definitely do not recommend
