Negative experience: My initial experience with Katie was great—she was helpful and professional throughout the home-buying process. However, a few months after closing, I discovered a property tax issue where the seller still owed me approximately $4,500. I reached out to Katie for help resolving it, but her initial response was essentially, “that’s just how it works,” which was disappointing and not what I expected given our prior working relationship. Thankfully, I was able to work directly with the closing attorney and recover the amount I was owed, but it was frustrating to navigate that without any assurance or support from Katie. While the transaction itself went smoothly, the lack of follow-through afterward was a huge letdown. I do not recommend using this broker if you plan on having any support post closing.

Even though I was searching for a house from Indiana, she was able to meet with my local family and take me on countless virtual showings. Fantastic experience: My wife originally contacted Katie when she was looking at houses online because I was wrapped up in work and thought trying to buy a house was going to be too much to handle. Katie contacted us back immediately and wanted to show us a ton of houses in the area but I was a little hesitant (due to generally just being an antisocial bummer of a person). She was ready to go but I didn't think my credit was ready (I had a ton of debt in my name before I got married) or I had enough money. I worked on my credit for a few months while my wife did some other minor things (because she already had amazing credit) like surfing the web looking at houses and giving birth. After we had our first daughter we knew we definitely needed somewhere and my wife contacted Katie back. We basically told her that we knew nothing about houses or buying them and just to tell us what to do. I'm not sure if she has other customers (I assume so) but she treated us like we were her only customer. If we texted her about seeing a house she was calling the listing agent and had us there the same day if possible. When we made offers we just asked her about how low we should go and what we should say or do. Most sellers took cash but eventually we closed on a house (thanks to a letter she also talked us into writing that I never would have if she hadn't talked us into it because I'm a very private person). We ended up getting an offer accepted for less than the house ended up appraising for and the lender that was also referred to us by Katie got us a 30 year mortgage at 2.8% interest. The contracts Katie wrote up for us ended up saving us a ton of money and we ended up only paying 2.5k down and around 1.1k for closing costs. Completely insane for this market. If you are thinking about buying a home or if you are paying over 1k/month on rent now then you have nothing to lose by contacting Katie (I mean you have nothing to lose anyway cause if you don't like her or change your mind about buying a house you could theoretically just ghost her and it's not like you owe her any money for all of her work). I even thought about it when we were looking at houses how hard she was working for us with no promise of ever making any money. I'm not sure if it was actually genuine or a really good sales pitch but she genuinely seemed like she just wanted to help us improve our situation. I'm sitting in my new home writing this and just wanted to say thank you so much. From beginning to even the gifts after closing this has been an easier, nicer experience than I ever could have imagined.

Fantastic experience: Katie Jervis of KST Group is an amazing realtor. Full disclosure: I have an aversion to real estate agents. I have had terrible experiences in the past and have never liked dealing with them. Well, my husband and I were randomly met Katie through a real estate app for a property we wanted to view. And in one week we went from being wary to being WOWED. She is ON IT. She actively listens, she double-checks to make sure she understands what has been said or requested. She will look out for your best interest, just like she did for us. I've found her to been fair, level-headed, and knowledgeable. And if she doesn't know something, she will find the answer. She sees a challenge and thinks opportunity. We appreciate her so much, that we have bought 2 homes with her help. I think that says a lot about how much we trust her.
