Negative experience: Set up a tour with Mike via a phone call. Upon arriving on time, there was another tour going on with a different man named Michael. Michael was not at all expecting us. The tour before us left after a few minutes and our tour actually went well. We got Michael's phone number, and he said he would send over the application that day. However, it is a month later and I still have yet to hear from Michael or Mike. These people are the worst, do not work with them!

Negative experience: Avoid this management company & 46 Ashe St, upon moving in the first week there was a storm we had leaking issues in the kitchen, living room and both bedrooms. After numerous work orders no response from anyone. As you can imagine there were more storms and the issue just got worse. We had MUSHROOMS growing out of the ceiling. As well as mold from every vent and water damage. With-in 2 months of living in the space me and my roommate had mold toxicity symptoms. We both were waking up in the middle of the night wheezing and coughing. We had to go to the doctors numerous times, because we thought it was a cold we couldn't get over. We tried to get the roof and internal water damaged fixed however no response from any one. We ended up getting really sick and needed to get an attorney involved to break our lease. At this point we weren't staying at our apartment for 2 weeks. They have no care for their health of tenants. They are ended up "fixing the roof" the workers were there for 2 days, and just painted over all the water damage on the ceilings and walls. There is no way that place is safe to live in. We found mold behind outlets and light switches, as well and the chimneys had significant water damage inside and around. There's a sliding door that grows mold on it every time you close it. Kyle denied everything with no concern of health and well being for us. They promised a whole new roof and internal damages to be fixed. They literally just painted over the water damage. I feel horrible to whoever owns that house Boneworks definitely kept them from knowing about how horrible the structural damage is.

Negative experience: PLEASE BEWARE COLLEGE STUDENTS AND NEW PEOPLE MOVING TO CHARLESTON!! As someone who leased a house for only one year with them, I can say it was the worst experience I have ever had leasing in Charleston. First off, we didn’t have a working fridge about 2 1/2 months out of the 12 months of the time I lived there. That meant my roommate and I had to live out of a mini fridge, yet still paying full rent. We also didn’t have any heating or cooling for about 3 weeks in the winter, when it was 32 degrees outside (this would be deemed an emergency). They gave us broken space heaters that didn’t work, and never gave a solution and decided to stop responding. Also, Vinny will never EVER respond, and Kyle will rarely unless I blow his phone up with calls and texts (I shouldn’t have to do that in the case of an emergency). I wanted to have faith since they seemed to have good reviews online so I took a chance, but that was a huge mistake.

Negative experience: I'd like to start by saying that I am not one to write a bad review about a company. I always try to see the bright side in this dark, dark world we live in. Everyone is so negative these days, and that really bothers me and fills my heart with so much dread. Sometimes, I even get a lil depressed just thinking about how much negativity that people hold for the humans and world around them. All of that being said, I am deeply saddened that I have to write a bad review for Boneworks Real Estate. 0/10 would not recommend to even my least favorite uncles. Edit: I am just now learning they are not accredited through the Better Business Bureau... I guess I should have checked that before going into business with them.

Negative experience: Horrible management company. Very unresponsive, uncoordinated, and unprofessional company. They do not care about their tenants or the apartments they own. Would not recommend to anyone to sign a lease with them.

Negative experience: Never in my 7 years of living in Charleston have I dealt with a property management company as bad as Boneworks. Extremely unresponsive company and very rude. They could care less about their tenants. Upon moving in, our house was infested with fleas, missing electrical sockets, broken kitchen moldings, dirty bathrooms and windows, a broken door, dirt caked on the walls. We also had a horrible termite infestation for months to the point where they would be crawling on us at night or get into our belongings. Numerous work orders were placed and texts were sent to address these issues. These requests were not even completed a year later. The house still has a termites, flea issues and black mold. Kyle and Vinny are the most unresponsive, unorganized property managers, spending too much time posting listings on Facebook instead of handling their current tenants needs. The ceiling in my bedroom in started to continuously leak and damaged my belongings, they seemed to care less about this issue. I just had a serious surgery and couldn't do anything to stop the leaking. I tried contacting them over a 2 month span to address this issue, but my phone calls, texts, and emails were ignored. Eventually, after months of pleading they finally fixed it, blaming the delay on the landlord. They could care less about their tenants, they only want your money and to have their properties filled. I'm so glad I'm no longer a tenant with them. Avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: My lease started great. Maintenance requests were fulfilled in a timely manner, but then things got bad. Kyle will make himself seem nice and then leave you in the dust with no response. Oh, they also told me to take the fire alarms out of the ceiling and didn’t replace them until my last week in the house.

Negative experience: I have never had a good experience with landlords but Kyle and Vinny with Boneworks might be the worst yet. If you are looking for landlords who are unprofessional, unresponsive and looking to scam you for all your money to make repairs to their property, then you should rent a house from Boneworks. I have leased from Vinny for 2 years now and he is by far the worst to deal with. After months of AC and leaking problems they are trying to charge us upwards of $3,000 for “HVAC” repairs and will not provide invoices. Vinny (our main POC) will not respond to any questions or concerns and will only direct us to Kyle who has not replied to our messages in over a week. If you try calling the office no one knows what they are talking about and you will be left with an empty promise that management will be in touch. If I could leave 0 or negative stars, I would. Once you sign a lease, they could care less about you. Counting down the days until I never have to deal with Boneworks or Vinny and Kyle again.

Fantastic experience: Vinny at Boneworks was great! Highly recommend having Vinny as a property manager! If any issue came up, he would get back to me in minutes! Vinny and boneworks have gone above and beyond and truly care about their renters.

Fantastic experience: After having previous bad experiences with other management groups in Charleston, we finally came across BoneWorks. We signed a lease and toured within one day, and Vinny/Kyle were both responsive and helpful. We would absolutely recommend due to their fast turnaround time and quick application process! We are looking forward to our lease date starting in August.

I rarely had apartment related issues but when I did Boneworks was very quick to respond and took care of the issue. I’m extremely impressed to say the least. 10/10 would recommend renting with this company. I don’t have one bad thing to say. If you want to make your living situation stress free and know you’re in good hands use this company. Vinny is the person I was always in contact with and he would immediately drive out to help me if there was ever an issue. He was more of a friend than landlord and I can’t begin to describe how awesome he has been.

I’ve lived in Charleston for years and only downtown and it’s extremely hard to come by on the peninsula. He’s extremely responsive, caring, and takes his tenants issues very seriously. We don’t have one issue that hasn’t been fixed in a timely and professional manner as well as done with great quality. If I could, I’d take him with me everywhere. He’s the absolute best!

Every team member is quite responsive and quick to help with any problems or maintenance requests. (Even on weekends or when it’s a personal fault. I locked both sets of keys in my apartment on a Friday night over the holidays, and Vinny was quick to bring me a set) They have perfected their profession!

He was very helpful... they brought us fans when our AC broke, always sent someone out ASAP if there was a maintenance issue, and Vinny periodically checked up on my roommate and I and made sure we were having a good experience. We both hope to move back to Charleston and will be sure to use Boneworks again!!
